2019 04 14 soldiergirl vs the box
You will probably have to view this on a PC monitor and not a little cell phone to see this. Very very windy today and I was out walking the dogs. If you watch the upper right hand corner you will see Soldier Girl come into view and something catches her attention. The cardboard box came flying at the fence and hits it (it did make a loud sound) right beside her startling her so badly she actually falls down. What roused her and got her up to investigate is that along with the box a couple plastic dinner plates with left overs on them got her over her scare and she started digging at the fence for a snack. I did call her away and made sure she was okay. (her heart was racing) But in hind sight after watching it numerous times and knowing she is fine it is funny.

Sorry it took so long. PC has been wonkey. If you have the same model as me and they have not changed to a different style I will try and help. The "D" style handle comes in two pieces along with a couple bolts. You attach it to the metal shaft coming from the main unit. The "D" part of the handle faces upwards and the other section is put right under it. With the bolts put through the holes it kind of clamps onto the shaft. You attach it to where it is most comfortable for your grip style as it can be loosened and moved to where you like it. I hope I was clear enough. If not just reply and I will try to explain better.

*My friend is in our late 60"s🌿 **allabout.wiki/Greenworks** and we are huge Greenworks fans and have been for several years. We have more than Greenworks tools. This weed eater was just what we needed. I opened the box at **2:30** and by **3:10** I was trimming weeds and I am not handy. I trimmed for nearly an hour on the same small battery. We had a larger model and gave it to our son-in-law because it was just getting too heavy for us. This has very balanced weight and we love it.*

Hi Nicole. The one I got included a 4Ah battery and charger. It also is attachment capable. (meaning it can take Ryobi expand it attachments) I already had most of the attachments on hand. Greenworks does sell a version of about all their products at a cheaper price without the battery. The reason for that is because a lot of people that have already bought/have/use Greenworks products already have batteries and chargers. Here is a link to the unit I have that does come with the battery and charger. www.amazon.com/Greenworks-Cordless-Attachment-Included-21362/dp/B00IPA151K/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1ATMBVKVIQXPP&dchild=1&keywords=greenworks+weed+eater+14+inch&qid=1625008459&sprefix=greenworks+14+inch+weed%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-3

Don't know why the guy just didn't go ahead and have the head on. Since yours is a new model I hope the head is still the same and hope this video helps you. Oh, a few more things, the string size I use is .080 not the .095 like he mentions. Also find a way to kind of brace your trimmer so the head faces upwards without flopping all over. I get about 7 feet of line in mine. I hope you find the video helpful and good luck. BTW my trimmer is still going strong and I am still loving it! czcams.com/video/W2fy9_VYdJs/video.html

Thanks for the compliment. I took a look at your photo. If you were talking just the center of the road then ok. But! If you are going to be clearing the side back a ways then sadly I can not recommend it for that job. What you need is a gas powered with a brush attachment. Or heck, rent and run a bush hog down each side. What I see on the sides is a lot of thick wide leafed plants that although this weed eater MIGHT be able to do but it would take a very long time and put stress on it. Once you have the area cleared and down then yes, use this one to maintain it. Once again Thanks for the compliment!

@@DiegoTurcios Greenworks does sell an 80volt line. Greenworks PRO 16-Inch 80V Cordless String Trimmer on Amazon. I use the 40volt because well... cost plus rural residential 1 acre that is not over grown. Plus love that with the greenworks the line of tools that the battery is compatible with is pretty amazing. Then with the string trimmer it could use the ryobi expand-it system of which I already had many of the attachments from using ryobi gas powered weed eater for years. (having to buy new powerhead every couple years got old) But in direct answer to your question no, I have never had the chance to use their "beefier" line. But looking at the second photo (please don't laugh) if they rent goats in your area have you considered a live goat? Our first home that we bought years ago was also an acre. It had a barn on it, Problem was it was so over grown that we could not get to it. Our preteen son (now grown and gone with his own family) wanted a goat. Should have seen the looks we were getting going down the interstate on our way back with a goat sitting in my wifes lap in the front passenger seat head out the window like a dog. lol "Herbie" made a great pet for my son and they would play everyday. Meanwhile we would move Herbie from area to area. He had a collar with a chain and the chain was tied around a concrete cinder block that was placed in a hole. Don't worry all you animal lovers. Herbie was spoiled rotten and plenty fresh water was pulled around for him. Also in the barn at night. But Herbie did a great job of clearing the property and afterwards he could "retire" as we now could have a large garden area. Just a thought. :)

Thank You! Oh, I was so pleased with this weed eater that I also got the 19" mower #2501302. Same exact one that you have only I did not need the batteries or charging system as I already had some from the 12" chainsaw and the weed eater. I also am very impressed with the 19" mower. I have an acre and there is a LOT of area my rider mower can not get to and is to much area for the weed eater. So that mower is a god send, perfect for what I needed it for. I will be doing a review on it at the end of this season (it's 2nd). I also got the 40watt power inverter (Greenworks 40V 300W Cordless Power Inverter IV40A00) just in case a t-storm knocks our power out we can still charge our e-cigs and phones using it. :) The ONLY thing that I have gotten from greenworks that has not impressed me was the blower I got. I have to admit I cheaped out and did not get the version you got, I went the cheaper route (24282). Umm.. it is weak. lol So, what I do is I put the ryobi blow attachment on the weed eater and that combo works perfect. I am going to let my young grandsons "help" me blow the driveway off with the toy (yes I call that model a toy lol) blower. But over all I have been super impressed with their 40volt line up. Thanks again for the compliment and I am glad you enjoyed the review. :)

@@ltdees2362 This is odd. I also had rotator cuff surgery many years ago. They told my wife and I that there would be just a small 1/4 inch cut and I would be out in around an hour. Well, six hours later with my shoulder cut just about all the way front to back I came out. After I was out of recovery they explained that there was a lot more damage to the cuff than they had thought. I still have a pretty good scar from it, but at one time I could have done a shoulder commercial for a Frankenstein commercial. lol Needless to say my shoulder never recovered even close to what it was and really kills me with pulling motions and over head work. Even more odd, I did have somewhat similar circumstance as you. However, my Doc did explain it could go either way from small hole to major surgery. The mri was inconclusive as to how much damage I actually had and he told me and my wife I could wind up no better off regardless of what the surgery entailed, near five hours later the story unraveled. Should have listened to my "gut" and just lived with it. I've never had any type surgery save a characterization for a heart stent after a heart-attack 15 years ago. In the end it was my choice for surgery...can't blame anyone but myself. And yes, its the simple things you take for granted that hurt, like you, reaching, pulling or just putting on a t-shirt. As for pain management I have discovered cold-therapy is by far the best relief over pain meds, which I cannot tolerate. Also due to heart disease I must be very careful taking any type of anti-inflammatory meds (NSAIDS) even over the counter. Here is a link to the ice-machine I use that was recommended by my therapist which I found on Amazon. There are many types and I'm looking for something a little more sustainable. I use it pretty much every day depending on activity, several times. www.amazon.com/Ossur-Cold-Therapy-System-B-232000010B-232000019/dp/B006VWSWSI/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=9SR6JEXPR0Y2&keywords=cold%2Btherapy%2Bmachine&qid=1565529611&s=gateway&sprefix=cold%2Bthe%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-1-spons&smid=A1CAKV005NVW5B&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExNVFBQU1IUkJXMEVOJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTgwNzM3MllIWkdBTzI4OUROMyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTUyODA5MUdJTlRVTEJOSkQ2QSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1

Sorry but; you aren't any expert at what you are doing. You aren't following best-practices (which include maintaining a height from base grass). In the video you drop the height of the trimmer to the floor at least twice, scalping the grass at those points and you don't even clear the bullwhark of overgrown grass. Quite frankly, our inexperienced 9-year old trims better than you do!!! in addition, Greenworks dumped the 40v line right away for the 80v line, and support is gone (they pulled down the videos on how to change the trimmer line for example) . The company has fooled you.

In the video yes, I did maintain base height of my choosing. Nice even cut that looked good that was set to the top of the landscaping timbers. May I ask why the company is still selling the 40v line if they have dumped it? Even if they have this is still a good product that is perfect for my rural residential 1 acre slice of land. Thank You! I have the 19 inch mower and used it all last season. I am very pleased with it. I have one acre with a ton of obstacles and lots of smaller areas the rider can't reach so a push mower is a must. I will be doing a review of it later in the season. All the Greenworks things I have get a strong workout. Now the 40v blower (the smaller model) I am not so impressed with. I let my grandkids "help" me using it. For the real blowing needs I use the Greenworks trimmer that I reviewed in the video with my Ryobi blower attachment. That set up can move some air. :) My next purchase to complete (hopefully) my yard needs with be the Greenworks 24" 40v hedge trimmer without the battery. (got 4 batteries). I need that because some of the people around me do not take care of their property lines and with the over growth hanging over my fence it is starting to be a hassle to take care of my own. But any how, Thank You for the thumbs up and the reply!

For some reason in the video it does sound louder than it really is. The camera is about 8 foot from me and it has a pretty good mic. I did not have to raise my voice and conversation while working is easy. But the sound on the video is deceptive. I still love it and it is still going strong. It has been worked pretty hard this season. Wish the acre would give myself and it a break. But temps still staying in the mid to upper 80's. Supposed to be average of 74 now. lol But looks like relief is on the way in a couple more days. Oh, I have also bolstered the number of batteries I have since I now also have their 19" battery push mower. Am up to 3 4.0 ah batteries and a 2.0 ah battery. :) Oh, to answer the question yes, it is brushless.

Greenworks spool head cover is so thin it cracks within a couple of years and is NOT covered by warranty. It is an expensive part to buy when including shipping. I will NEVER recommend Greenworks trimmer.

I am sorry that you had that happen. I hope that it does not happen to mine. But so far it is still going strong and it is used a lot. I have a chain link fenced acre to keep trimmed out so that bump head really gets bumped a lot as chain link fencing eats line very quickly. Also have a lot of other things that need to be trimmed around. It is used heavily and I'd say a whole lot more than your average home owner. Oh, and it is easy to respool. I have not looked at how expensive that part is, I guess I should take a look. If it is insane expensive I will just switch over to the Ryobi weed eater attachment that the Greenworks weed eater can take. I hope I don't have to as I really like the Greenworks one because like I mentioned in my video, it is the first bump head I have ever used that works properly. :)

Thanks for your great review! I own three Greenworks units: 20" Twin Force mower, Pole saw and 16" chainsaw. I started out with their 12" chainsaw, didn't like it and exchanged it for the 16-incher, which is great. I'm probably going to add the 14" trimmer to my tool shack. I went with a different brand corded cultivator/tiller since I need it so seldom and the price was much lower than the Greenworks cultivator/tiller.

Thanks for the comment! I have got the 12" chainsaw which is good for the amount of work that I have left. (stupid bradford pear tree one to go) and the 14" cordless string trimmer. So far I am so impressed by this company that just yesterday the Greenworks 19" cordless push mower arrived also bought off Amazon. Kind of upset though because I had to hurry and get it out of the box and together if I wanted to do a test run. Only got to use it about 30 seconds before hustling it into the shed. Rain was coming in fast. :P I will be doing a video review on the mower as soon as I can. Once again Thanks for the reply!

Thank You. It was hard to do it as I kept breaking down. It is a wonder how a furry four legged critter can work themselves so deeply into ones life and heart.
