I love this!! Every xmas break without fail since i was 5yrs old (1990) my mom took me into nyc to see the Rockettes. We would take the train from 30th st station in philly into grand central or sometimes penn station n spend 2nites at the milford plaza hotel. We rode the subway all the time when we were there. We kept the tradition going well into my teen\adult years except we swapped out the Rockettes for broadway shows starting when i was about 15 lol. I miss her..she passed in 2011😢its hard to go to nyc without her even still to this day.

NYC was really scary, dangerous and depressing in the 70s and early 80s. It was bad times for NYC and really the country as a whole. If you survived that era you're a strong person.

I remember when the R46s were brand new in passenger service. Now they're the oldest subway cars in the New York City Subways. Unless you want to count the R44s on The Staten Island Railway 🛤

When I was a kid I remember riding the Third Avenue El but back then, 1965 - 70, it ran from Gun Hill Road in the Bronx to 149th Street and Third Avenue. It had already ended service south of 149th.

I love the metro of Charleroi. It’s so retro and it has a unique vibe.
