Hi there, this is a very valid point however we do not suggest withholding stools following a hair transplant. Our recommendation is that you do what you can to reduce blood pressure and excess sweating in the early stages following a hair transplant to assist with your own healing. Only you know your own body and how it reacts so whilst exercise, saunas etc are generally not recommended - things like masturbation are up to your own interpretation. Mr Mouzakis has not experienced any of his patients having issues with sleeping on their side but he recommends that they use a travel pillow or rolled up towel to just tilt the head slightly. Keyhole laparoscopic is a great advancement in many areas of surgery, but for hernias, we have found better results from open surgery which then don't have the risks that come with laparoscopic surgery. Open surgery for hernia's can be performed under local anaesthetic, unlike laparoscopic keyhole surgery which is performed under general anaesthesia which does carry additional risks. Each surgeon will have their own preferences to how they choose to perform hernia surgery and this will be fully explained during your no-obligation consultation. Overall, it is not possible for a hernia to treat itself, so over time, there is a risk that it will get bigger and in some cases become painful. The longer they are left, the more risk there is for complications such as strangulation or obstruction which may then require emergency surgery.
