2023 Enclosed Trailer Lawn Care Set-up
zhlédnutí 16KPřed rokem
Simple, efficient, solo-operator lawn care trailer set up! After pulling landscape trailers for 32 years, this maybe my best one! Work smarter not harder! And don’t put your spare tire at the back of the trailer!!!!!
You may have said what weight of oil you used
14:28 it's there.
Awesome video! Are you using this setup for 2024?
keith lindsay awesome video
Nice 5ft side barn door. Loading a pallet, depending on weight .at exceed your tongue weight.
New to enclosed trailers and as a solo operator efficiency is key for me. I thought the same thing about backing in mowers and seeing everyone's videos I kept asking myself why they didn't back their mowers on too haha. Definitely like the gas cans on the floor with the wood holding them in. Taking that idea from you. Also like the trimmers being vertical vs horizontal. Have you noticed any issues from the engines not being supported by the engine supports being that they're vertical vs horizontal?
Also. Also that I’ve got a gallon of paint I can’t remember what it is and I got some black sand that I’m gonna throw on top of the paint. Keep it from non-non-slipping so I’ll be getting ideas I mean I was thinking about painting my floor on the inside of the trailer and then painting it painting my walls. Can you help me
Hi Keith, my name is David Jeffries from Jasper Indiana tomorrow actually I’m picking up my 7 x 20 trailer enclosed. I like your set up this is the I’ve always used. I’ve only been a business for this is my third year and I am also solo solo 52 years old so I know what you mean, but you know I was I like your set up is green touch better than equipment defender and where and how do you screw these things on the walls? I haven’t looked at it yet. Have a blessed day bro.
Great point about backing I very nice
Very good information!
Stander mowers, we pull them into the trailer. Sitdown mowers, we typically back them in!
Great setup!!! Just curious if you strap your mowers down at all??
How expensive was this trailer? It is a very nice trailer. Please comment back, thank you for this video.
nice set up
Im glad you made this video what you saying makes the most sense to me thats now ill copy your setup.i will just have to get used to working off the left side 🤣🤣🤣 but i understand why tho
Nice trailer setup
great video! Got a few ideas that I didnt think about and its good to see someone "my age" still doing it. Thanks alot.
Yeah, especially if you don’t have a huge business your don’t need an expensive holder for your gas cans.
Wow ur setup is next to non
You sir are proof that OCD can be a positive trait. Great video. Great set up. Your customers are lucky to have you as their provider.
Thanks, I appreciate it
I love your videos man keep making them!
Awesome trailer and video Keith.
Thanks
Geeat video thank you!
Thanks
Great videos you make! Thank you for this idea
Thanks I've been too busy to make any videos lately. I'll try to get some more done
Hey Keith enjoyed your video...I have a 1990 C model with a 16HP Kohler Engine
Pretty cool set up!!
How bout them Clemson Tigers!!!
Yes. I am looking forward to football season
This is pretty cool thank you for sharing this
Thanks
Smart, I wish I saw your video earlier
Thanks
Excellent video!! I copied your layout for the trimmer rack and blower being on the same side. It opened up more space in my small 6x10 trailer. I'm planning to upgrade to a 7x14 next year.
Good deal, glad it helped
Awesome set up! I'm looking at getting an enclosed trailer next season!
Thanks
I really like that dumb body set up. Is that a custom with the side boards on it?
It is a EZ dumper with mesh sideboards my welder buddy made for me
Really nice set up well organized I like the idea of hanging the weedeaters like that
Thanks, I appreciate it
Just a tip I have those same gas cans and if you want to make them last I suggest venting them with a drain cock valve! Keeps them from getting pressurized.
Thanks for the tip
Good luck on the channel. It’s hard to get started.
Thanks, I appreciate it
Where did you get that weed eater rack at?
Equipment defender.com
Neatly organized, 👏 👏 I didn't notice a push mower for smaller grass areas... I'm just curious.
I have a Honda but very seldom use it. I don't think I used it at all last year.
@Keith Lindsay very good 👏 👏
Sincere thank you, I'm grateful for you sharing your thoughtful set up. I got some great takeaways from your video. I have shared with my foremen who still use the trailer set ups. I'm also an old guy 27 years in business, long out of the field myself but we have 4 residential maint crews operating here in Phoenix. We only have 2 of the big rigs left moving to a smaller footprint with all in 1 trucks. You should look into "2 second Lean" you are intuitively a lean thinker. Google it, you won't be disappointed. If you ever get to Phoenix come see us, we welcome like minded visitors.
😂 Indeed ego does cost-- sometimes, far more than people realize they can pay.
Yes sir
Good video ( if only it was shot in _landscape_ 😂 even when I watch videos on my phone, I prefer watching in landscape view ), nice setup. What were you saying about diesel vs gas? Echo made a sweep accessory for their hedge trimmer years ago; it's just wasn't standard 🤷♂️ I don't know if they still offer it. Oh, and there definitely is a difference between the 9010 and 8010.
I have a seperate video on gas vs diesel. Basically that most guys pulling just mowers don't need a diesel, unless you are towing more than 10,000 lbs. I think some guys just have a diesel because of their ego. There is NO way you can save money with a diesel truck, even if it gets twice the fuel mileage vs a gas truck which usually they don't. When you consider the extra cost upfront, then the extra finance cost, the fuel being $1.50 more a gallon, the extra cost of maintenance, the extra cost of the DEF fluid, and when something breaks the REAL EXTRA cost. My 6.4 gas Dodge pulls a 10,000 lb. trailer fine and I live in the mountains. I'm not a big Dodge fan, this is my 1st one, the main reason I bought it, was it has 120 more horse power than a 6.0 GM. I also have a video on my open trailer..Thanks
I went from gassers to diesels for my business for the pure reason they don’t hold up at all. Was getting 6-8mpg hauling 4 mowers etc around on both gas trucks, and would have to borrow a buddies truck to haul dump trailers etc for hurricane cleanup or landscape install jobs. Yes they cost more up front but I cut my fuel bill by 65%. Both trucks run on a full tank pulling 6-8k lbs of equipment and people 6-7 days a week at $140$ per tank. The gassers cost me that every other day almost. I bought brand new trucks and while the financing was higher up front, I got the extended warranties so I’m good for 200k miles out of each. They are paid off already so it’s not a concern of mine for any repairs further down the line. Have 30-40k miles on each truck and they’ve been flawless as compared to the gasser fleet I had. Not to mention resale value. I got about 25% of what I paid for for 2 low mileage gasser trade ins, and they are offering me exactly what my order price was that I paid on my 2022’s to get me in 2023’s. Small time guys could use gassers but they definitely aren’t for me anymore.
how many yards do you have i
25 residential and 1 big commercial
Traded for it a few years ago. Mine is a 14hp, it works good if the leaves are dry but I have to slow down on wet leaves or it will clog. Kinda wish I had gotten the 18hp. But it's what the guy had
This was awesome! You really covered everything. 2nd year in business here in Alabama. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna buy a 7x16 enclosed so this REALLY helps. Thanks so much. I wasn’t thinking about all the storage possibilities there were. You have opened my eyes.
Thanks man. More videos coming soon
Where did you get the leaf vacuum?
Great setup! Loved the logic behind your setup. Gave me lots of ideas! "Work smarter not harder". Liked and subbed. Good luck this season!
Thanks I appreciate it
What are you using to hold your leaf blowers
Hooks I got at Lowes then welded a chain to it and a padlock. I couldn't see paying $300 for a blower specific rack. My hook may not be as secure but $10 instead of $300
@@keithlindsay are the chains and padlocks to help hold in place or to keep from being stolen
@@garystoner9212 The chain and lock is to hopefully prevent the blowers from being stolen. A bolt cutter could cut the lock or chain, but just trying to make it harder for a thief. I just could't pay $300.
@@keithlindsay ok thanks
Nice video, has given me some good ideas to set up my new trailer
Good deal, thanks
Very nice
Thanks
Love that 5ft side opening . That is the way to go👌I demoed one of those B27i's. Fantastic mower👍Great setup 💯
Thanks. I spread 2 tons of lime last week and didn't have to handle the bags but the one time putting them in the spreader. I love the B27i. It is now my primary mower.
Cool video, i am gonna change my rack set up.
Thanks, I have a video focusing on installing the rack vertically. I've got several guys that has went vertical with their racks
I’m older too. Work smarter not harder. That’s my motto too. Really nice setup. New sub here
Thanks man, hopefully we've got several more good years in us
