Salmon & Sea-trout fishing at Lough Inagh, Connemara, in Ireland's most stunning scenery
Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel offers salmon, sea-trout and brown trout fishing in some of Ireland's most stunning scenery in Connemara.
Spring salmon fishing from March, grilse from July and sea trout and brown trout fishing on the lakes up to the end of September. It is located against a magnificent back-drop of mountain and ancient oak woodland in a singularly lovely valley. There are seven river beats at the fishery in addition to the lough fishing They can provide some very interesting and challenging fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout especially for the angler who is prepared to be adventurous and flexible.
The hotel is one of the Great Fishing Houses of Ireland.
Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel is a charming country retreat set amidst breathtaking scenery in Connemara in the West of Ireland and offering de luxe Country House accommodation with fishing, shooting and many other outdoor pursuits available locally or on the estate. The hotel is set snugly in the aptly named Recess of Connemara. By no means a small house, Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel is dwarfed by the magnificent scale of the landscape. It is a charming country retreat with 13 tastefully appointed rooms, five of them furnished to deluxe standards.
Originally a fishing lodge of the Berridge family, the hotel prides itself on its traditional menus based on wild game, fish, seafood and other local produce. In addition to fishing and shooting (in season), activities include pony-trekking, hill climbing and walking. The hotel provides an excellent guide-book of recommended walks. A day spent in the bracing Connemara air is the perfect prelude to the pleasures of Lough Inagh’s excellent dining room, relaxing bar and cosy library.

    why dont they just spawn down at the mouth of the river?

    • @gardinermitchell1604
      @gardinermitchell1604 Před 5 lety

      Salmon need gravel of a certain size with a good flow of cold, clean, oxygenated water in order for their eggs to develop. It is also essential for the newly hatched salmon (called alevin) to hide from predators in the spaces created by the gravel. Salmon can spawn on the first gravel they meet but normally the lower regions of rivers have depositions of silt on the river bed rather than gravel. The upper reaches are more hilly with greater gradient and more numerous areas of gravel.

    Beautiful tie Denis and the photography is outstanding! The first time I saw a opossum up close the hair just screamed streamer wing (I had to remove one "playing possum" in my yard before my Lab retrieved it) I have various fox tails but no opossum, tip dyed or otherwise, so I'll try tying with what I have. If I come across some opossum like that I'm buying it. I think Future Fly distributes it. Thanks for the fine tutorial...
