I just bought this pipe cutter and I love it but I used it for HVAC installation. It’s small enough to fit between most condenser copper line sets when removing an old system, and it’s great when running lineset. You can’t use those close quarter pipe cutters you have on type K because it’s OD piping, so you need something small and adjustable because you always have at least 2 different size pipes.

You sure its Kuh-nip-x? Makes much more sense it being Knip-ex as in the word to cut or snap, the k isnt separate and it isn't silent.

ill still say nipex. sounds better and its how you say it in english which is what i speak

Call me crazy, but the bottom jaw on the alligator and the cobra are different. The alligators last two teeth are elevated higher than in the cobra which has a smooth transition to the back teeth. I feel like I am the only one who’s noticed this or said anything about it.

What model is that? I can’t seem to find it.

It is sad that metric version has no screw cutter.

My EDC is the 71 31 200 - I use them for rural fencing mainly cutting 2.5 dia. high tensile fencing wire and 2.5 tie wire - the grip force to cut with these wires is minimal ---- My Maun fencing pliers and Parrot Beak style fencing pliers are no longer used --- I also use the 61 02 200 end cutters for rural fencing --

If the drywallers had filled up my junction box like that, I promise that they'll wish they'd saved some of that mud to fill the mysteriously appearing holes in their walls. That piercing point on the pliers looks as if it would punch through drywall panels with ease.

A great plier design with the smooth jaws if you have the space for the handles spread apart. How about making one that grips smaller nuts and bolts? I noticed the 2 parrot jaw handles are closer than my plier wrench for the same size nut. Still in tight spaces neither are a replacement for a single handle adjustable wrench in my opinion.

How do you determine the plier size needed for removing outside snap rings on a pivot joint piece of equipment. The ring looks like the diameter of a quarter.

Awesome carry! (Btw though the k in knipex isn’t silent) I personally don’t care how anyone says it but a lot of people are up tight about it so I figured I’d let ya know if you didn’t know already.

Only works if you’re cutting a few at a time, don’t get for data cable when cutting all 4 pairs the lead catcher just gets displaced and doesn’t really work

i need to remove loads of them and is pain full process. I don't see like to work. Softwood is easy. Show hardwood with 10mm staples which been shot there with 6-8bar pleasure. After removing about 500ml bottle of them i can't feel my hands. Can't find better set then sanded flat screwdriver with cut out triangle in middle and wrapped with tape so soft foam stays around handle. Looks like a dildo but after pressing into hard wood all day that soft foam helps a lot. After staples got lifted and than knipex 8603180 is good tool to finish removing only handle makes your fingers in pain as you are using opposite way. PLEASE KNIPEX SAVE MY HANDS AND MAKE GOOD STAPLE REMOVER BECAUSE IT DOSE NOT EXIST!
