1st of 3 rounds for a small racing series put together by Hole Shot Media. First time out with the car this season and trying to make it to more events this year. Raced the weather to get this event in but was happy to be out making some passes with the car. Looking forward to the next one!

First night of testing for the 2021 race season. Trying to get some practice with the adjustable clutch slip valve and its going to take some seat time. Overall, a solid night of early testing in April. I was able to shatter my previous PB not just once, but TWICE. Had a minor setback to end the night.

Had the opportunity to head to St. Louis with some friends for another SCT weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't have any better luck than Bowling Green a month ago. This season has been tough, as I have had no time to just go out testing the car and some different settings. Hopefully I can get to a test and tune night before the year is out.

Rushed around getting the car ready and loaded on the trailer for a test & tune night just for it to be cancelled right as I was leaving the house. Reset the 2-step to 6k RPM and gave it a quick test. Sounds nasty through the new dump setup.
Mustang Exhaust Gets Dumped

Quick upload with a few short clips of the new exhaust setup. Ditched the midpipe, over-axles and Corsa mufflers to drop some weight off the car. The new setup is Kooks 1 7/8 headers, Kooks race mufflers & 3 inch dumps. Better videos to come as I start getting the car out for the upcoming season. Can't wait to hear this on the 2-step.

Where are they dumped at?
I had the X-pipe cut before the crossover so the mufflers could be welded to a straight, flat section of pipe. Easy to remove if ever needed because the dumps are bolted to the header just as an x-pipe would be.
@@jetfuelonly5017 im still trying to figure out how I want to do mine, do you think it’s safe to cut at the start of the over axle pipe?
@@Bigmed9 yeah you should be able to do that. I considered it but I wanted to get rid of as much of the exhaust as possible for weight purposes. You’d probably just need to fabricate a couple extra exhaust hangers if you cut them before the over axle

@JetFuelOnly50 Did you use any adhesive when mounting it to the trunk? Mine let's water in when it rains or even wash the car.
@@hellostranger2269 I did use a small amount of 3M double sided tape when I installed it. I’ve not had any issues with water in the trunk
Are these the race mufflers or the NASCAR mufflers? What diameter and what length please?
They’re 3” inlet/outlet. 15.5” length. Here’s the part number. KOK-R300-10

How was drivability currently thinking of doing this
It drives fine but it’s definitely an obnoxious level of loud under any sort of load
So I have a twin turbo setup with dump pipes like JetFuelOnly50 and the one thing I’ve noticed like he said it’s loud under load however just driving it’s not loud at all mainly because pro chargers and turbos act like a muffler in a sense so if your doing this to a supercharged or N/A build that had nothing tied into the exhaust it would be extremely loud at all times even just normal driving.
What’s the exact build on this. I have a similar build. Without the valve and thinking of getting it
It’s still a stock, Gen 1 motor car with the stock MT82. Paxton 2200 kit with a 3.33 pulley. 12 pound springs in the wastegate. Long tube headers. Fore dual pump fuel system running e85. Some weight reduction, built 8.8 rear end and some suspension parts. It made 697 on the dyno.

I ordered everything I needed through summit and had a local shop do the fab work off the header. Used Kooks race bullets, vibrant V-bands and a basic stainless steel turn down

@@MrJayy4uhoe I think it was KOK-R300-10 but that might not be the correct inlet/outlet size.

@@coreyharris8455 the 10.37 is still the best pass I’ve made to this point. Didn’t get a lot of track time last year but hoping to push closer to a 9 this year. Slip valve works well. Car has been much more consistent off the line when using it
On your way to a 9 second car man! Its neat to see that slip valve for the clutch. Haven't seen much of that yet on S197's with MT82s. Looking forward to seeing more progress!

@@lancelippig8050 still running the stock Gen 1. I tried all the cheap remedies for the clutch sticking but nothing really helped until I installed a new clutch. Using the McLeod RXT now and it shifts so much better
@@jetfuelonly5017 I did the same thing, but went with an RST. Been looking at a remote clutch reservoir lately along with flushing the system with new fluid. I want that dang MT82 to put in work! Haha

Sorry for just now responding. Never saw the notification. It’s not bad at idle. It’s really obnoxious driving and at WOT. I don’t drive the car on the street anymore so it’s fine but I’d hate it if I still drove it places.

Car Mob you’re not wrong! Lol I’ve got some parts coming that should help me get those 60 foot times back down to the 1.4 range. This new clutch just puts so much power down instantly when compared to the old worn out stock piece.

Yes it was! He was a super nice guy. I went and talked to him after the race. Told him it was only fair he got me since I put him out the first round of the roll racing earlier in the day.

Ashton5Point0h the 11.0 class was packed but there were a lot of good races! My best pass of the weekend was 11.05 @ 130. My personal best in the car is a 10.87 on 10psi and E85. I’ve swapped wastegate springs and make 12psi now so I’m hoping for a chance to run a 10.5 at some point this year.
@@jetfuelonly5017 hell yeah man, my pb is 10.79 @136 open blower 3.6 on e90. Wanna try to dip down lower but i need some more suspension parts bc its all stock almost lol. I have mixed feelings about it. Sometimes i love the setup and sometimes i hate it lol but she gets the job done sometimes.
I would love to get that mph out of my car! Those are solid numbers. After a few setbacks I think I’m finally on the right track. Running another 11.0 class this weekend but after than I’ll throw the slicks back on and chase a new PB

El Coyote yes it was lol. It’s actually getting pulled this weekend for a complete build. 35 spline axles, spool, 9 inch ends all welded and braced. Should definitely be able to handle the abuse moving forward.
JetFuelOnly50 Damn, I hope mine holds up lol. I’ll be launching with 28x10.5lt15 Hoosiers next spring @ the track on a stock rear end as well. I always spun with MT ET street R bias plies.
