My name is Spencer and I am Digital Imagining Technician in the International Cinematographer's Guild.
This channel's idea is to capture the mentality of the "Camera PA". A mentality of exploration, excitement, lack of ego, and no ceiling in sight. Years ago I started as a Camera PA and I have slowly moved up to where I am now as a D.I.T. Since starting I have tried to never let that Camera PA spirit die. This is its playground.

zhlédnutí 1,6KPřed rokem
In this video, we explore the reliability and enduring value of the discontinued Sony PVM A250 OLED monitor in the realm of on-set color grading. We'll go in-depth into the monitor's features, limitations, and we'll talk about how it compares to its predecessors an...

How to change the color of the light
I just want to be able to hook up a battery to it I have two of them and I need to be able to power it with a battery.
🔥🔥🔥
After countless hours trying to find the answer, these were the most concise instructions I've seen/heard. Well done, thank you so much! Now my video looks the same in Davinci, and Quicktime. However, it still looks slightly darker in IINA, and VLC, but consistently, at least. That seemingly is how it will be. I still cannot believe Apple of all devices could be subject to this kind of unnecesary complexity/workarounds.
I have found a solution for this, just posted a video about it.
cant i just set the color profile in davinci to davinci wide gammut/intermediate rec709 gamma 2.4? will it still be accuarate?
aye brotha, ive got this monitor and i want to update it to 2.0. the sony speak instructions are not helpful. im not a dit (iim a steadicam op) so im not used to this side of the world. can you give me any insight on how to update this monitor? meaning can you dumb down the process? last night i had the monitor in peer to peer mode and had it connected to the ethernet port on a laptop running windows, but after putting in the 192..... ip address and 255.255.... subnet, the computer doesnt see the monitor. any help?
What would the recommended export settings be, generally? Under 'Advances Settings' in the export I used to do Color Space Tag: P3-DCI and Gamma Tag: sRGB. Because of these project settings you have shown would we keep Color Space Tag as 'Rec.709' and Gamma Tag as 'Rec.709-A'? Thank you for this video!
Alas a bit prone to failing due to a defective OLED panel or driver board. And there is absolutely no service information on the driver board. If it fails, you have to replace the entire panel and driver, which writes it off. Likely to be chucking mine in the skip.
I have fifteen Offline & Online Colour suites all fitted with the PVM-A250. Dependable and reliable is the word - even the drawbacks you mentioned, aren't a problem for us.
Wow
Blown away by the rim light, you can make anything cinematic with this!
FINALLY!! Thank you sir 🙏🙏
Hi Spencer great video ! I'm really curious to see how you setup your LG C1. how did you attach it to your cart?Is it convenient to work on a screen with that size? how do you carry it around during the shooting ? LG screen are the only option for a decent monitoring here but I'm really septic about having a fragile big screen on set. Thanks in advance for your answer
Great video! Would it be possible to explain how to do this for Premiere Pro? Much appreciated!
Can I set DaVinci YRGB for color science? Or does it have to be DaVinci YRGB Color Managed?
Thanks for making me feel better about buying a 10 year old monitor. Just picked up a pvm a170.
I am a sigma fp user and shooting in cinemadng. I am a begineer on davinci. What would you recommend me about color space transfor in and out nodes that ı saw on other peoples videos but your project setting is different from them. Hope you have time to explain.
Only for studio version. Not free version.
Does this solve the gamma shift issue when rendering and watching playback with quicktime?
Spencer, what are you doing over here?! Happy to see you
I could listen to you narrate anything. Thanks for the awesome explanation
Thats AI mate...
Well might actually be a dude :D
@@Retrokripl Oh no way haha.
I can't find the preset in my MacBook Pro
Thanks a lot for the great input!
power grade is empty
THANK YOU. MY GOD! IT WASN'T THAT HARD (talking to everything on the whole internet about this topic), WAS IT? 😂😂😂 You made my day! And you got a new lifetime subscriber as well! 🎉
Often times I feel the same when I run into something I can't figure out in resolve! Thanks for watching
@@camerapa Can I do this on my M1 mac?
When I change to rec709 reference in control center do I still need to select rec709A as the output color space in resolve? If the MacBook display is displaying rec709 gamma 2.4 why would we select rec709A still?
thanks man
Thank you!❤
Thank you, finally someone explains how to do the setup outside of davinci resolve 😊
Brilliant Content, Thank you very much!!
Holy hell. I watched three other videos that moved so damn fast I had no idea what it was saying. This solves it thankyou!!!
Like the MDR7506 headphones, Sony just 'gets' pro users. Japanese integrity or just an incredibly long history in the field?
this makes me wanna shoot everything very dark so i can just relight it in a moody way after :D
relight works much better if you right click #2 surface map go down and turn on node cache instead of auto
I used to work with this monitor for color grading, Mastering and QC. Is really a great monitor, color are fantastic. Even better in my opinion than today’s standard, the LG EP950 OLED which is the replacement for those Sony OLED. Is a shame that Sony doesn’t make those anymore…
best monitor ever
perfect tutorial mate!!
Great video! Looking forward for more

I have davinci resolve 18 (free) on my pc back home, now I’m away and have a laptop should I download the 18.5 beta or the 18 version? Does the beta have all the things 18 (free) does?
Great explanation mate. Love your style of videos, can't wait for more uploads!
