Honestly while it wasn't exactly the greatest games a lot of these were really promising concepts and given how much fun it was to play as kids it actually inspired quite a lot of indie games today! A lot of my own projects are partially inspired by the games i played on good ol' funorb when i was a wee lad, including one of my current games. It makes me a little sad to see you just glance some of the better ones, but given that they need some time and skill investment to actually be fun it's understandable lol But yeah, i think we can all agree on the one true goat of this site, which is indeed Arcanists.

Ive been looking for AoG since finding Arcanist again. Happy to see it might come back!

As someone who owns all except ShadowKey (having to run DOSBox as a seperate app before Steam did it for you) I really enjoy Daggerfall. Way easier than Arena. It took me several years to actually get out of Arena's starting dungeon. That being said... who doesn't like Serana? Edit: Yes, those Skeletons fuck you up. And I have never turned on that option for smaller dungeons on Unity. Don't be polite with common folk. Be Blunt. That's where you went wrong. And I recognize that dungeon with the Mummy...

i remember playing armies of gielinor back then once you got to spawn a kbd you were winning it was a pretty good game from what i remember.

Miner Disturbance was a great game, as you get lower down, it's a real risk vs reward scenario and there are unexpected secrets down there!

The antlers were 2006. That’s the same year I started!!!!! I remember 1 time playing on funorb and I ended up playing a game against Zezima. It was right after he was made mod on rs2. Pretty cool experience.

By chance anyone remembers summoning game with rs gods? I think it was online strategy/pvp game. I just remeber that it cost coins summoning something like saradomin monsters to fight other players summoning zamorak/armadyl/bandos monsters... it was so long ago my memory is foggy about it

FunOrb was actually fun, but very pay to win. The Wizard (Worms warfare) was cool pvp. The Armies of Gelianor was fun also.

I played with a couple people on arcanists, one person said my dad was gay and i was somehow horrified and convinced they were right, even though i never met my dad. Idk why thats a memory for me

Played hours of miner disturbance. Loved that game, almost took notes from dwarf fortress because once you go too far down you better get out fast or too much “fun”

Arcanists, Dungeon Assualt, Steel Sentinels and Armies of Gelinor Those were my go to games to play. I couldn't remember if there was a membership deal if you did both RS and Funorb but I defs recall subbing to both on some occasions. Sometimes one or the other.

I just found the combat and everything too complicated. Pull this out, put that here, prepare that, oops wrong button, press this, okay now make sure this is out. Okay I can now fight. It was irritating.

I loved Kickabout League man. It was so good. Half our class in primary school played it. It had more depth to it than the tutorial obviously. It was a great multiplayer game. Different classes of football players to choose from for your team. Cool tricks. Neat market system to upgrade your squad. You didn't do it justice in this video.

My favorite memory in funorb was being in a high level ranked match and being even with my opponent except they had a dragon on a map that was almost fully destroyed. I told him that dragons could swim and then he drowned his dragon and lost.

I use to alternate between rs2 and funorb. Bouncedown, crazy crystals, dungeon assaultm, arcanists, and armies of gielenor were my favorites. I played arcanists again the day after it came out on Steam. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Notably, Arcanists and Chrome Conflict (the full remake and continuation of Steel Sentinels including a 3D version of the game). Sadly, many years of progress, planning, artwork, models, music, etc have been lost due to Forum closures and lost links for time. It still amazes me how many talented people came out of the shadows to breathe new life into these beloved games, not to mention that some of these have turned from a passion project into full playable games with a team dedicated to working on them.
