    Hi i have a 09 Pontiac g8 firehawk and recently had the rear rotors surfaced. And ive started noticing a knocking or clacking noise from the rear when i launch. What could it b

    • @EasyFixShaun
      @EasyFixShaun Pƙed 3 dny

      Hard to say. If you cant reproduce the noise to track it down easily you could start with the brakes and make sure everything is correct there?

    • @shaffadukes
      @shaffadukes Pƙed 2 dny

      Lol.. easy to reproduce since it seems to haopen nearly every time i take off from any prone position. Even on a smooth surface, it will do it. And i can feel it and hear it. It's usually between 3 and 4 cuh,cuh,cuhs, clank and thump mixed together. But car drives fine going thru gears . No problem.

    • @EasyFixShaun
      @EasyFixShaun Pƙed 2 dny

      Does it seem brake related? I would start there and pull it apart, spin by hand. Kinda verify that where you left off is all ok. If nrake work is all ok maybe a driveshaft ujoint or other driveline issue could be explored and checked? Thats the rear wheel drive high performance V8 right?

    • @shaffadukes
      @shaffadukes Pƙed 2 dny

      @EasyFixShaun yeah its the 6.0 GT Firehawk. They made a few 6.2 GXP Firehawks, but i didn't get that lucky.yes, it is a rear wheel, a competition brake package with big 6 piston brakes and 14in rotors. Performance suspension . And a couple more things are all done from the factory.

    • @EasyFixShaun
      @EasyFixShaun Pƙed 4 dny

      Sorry to hear that. If you have isolated it to the wheel bearing that was replaced, maybe there is something wrong with the installation. I would triple check its the whee bearing, and if sure pull it apart and do some directive surgery to figure out what may have happened, and then go from there with repairs.

    Great How-To video! I have a 2013 travel trailer. Axles are 3,500-lb, Brakes are 10 x 1-3/4. The studs are 5 on 4-1/2. 14in tires. Everything was made by ALKO which no longer exists and parts are not available. I'm thinking of upgrading the brakes and drums to 10 x 2-1/4 but I'm concerned the original spindles may be too short and/or the new bearings a different size. The axle hub face length measures in at 85in. which I believe is also a size not available. Have you encountered this before? Is having the original brake shoes relined still a thing? ... Thanks

    • @EasyFixShaun
      @EasyFixShaun Pƙed 6 dny

      Thanks!! Wow I can believe parts are unavailable already for you axle. There might be several ways to deal with it. You could measure and piece it back together with parts that fit possibly. If it was my trailer I would just put new axles on it if the measurements work like these 3500's from amazon. Shipped right to your door. Bolt em on! Might be easier? 85" Dexter axles w/drums amzn.to/4bVxnN2 85" Rockwell axle Kit with springs amzn.to/3KuWCtL The Rockwell kit has no brakes but you can find the brakes you want and bolt on to them. There are lots of other parts like seals and bearings on amazon too if you go that route., I find measuring my stuff at home and shipping to my door easiest. *Any purchases from my amazon links or while on the website from those links, I make a small portion for the channel. 😃

    • @EasyFixShaun
      @EasyFixShaun Pƙed 10 dny

      Good question. I have never seen that happen. The problem is the rust bond. The tool is an attempts to break the rust bond that is holding the knuckle and wheel bearing together, once that happens you are on your way. The knuckles are super strong and might even be the strongest component of the steering and suspension, unless I am forgetting something.....?

    • @EasyFixShaun
      @EasyFixShaun Pƙed 10 dny

      Chrysler minivans have phantom clunks like that from the sway bar links and/or bushings, that are undetectable. The links and bushings will usually feel tight but still clunk. Basically you wanna just replace the bushings and links and cross your fingers. If everything thing else is good in the steering and suspension, usually that will take care of it. I would use OEM genuine parts also for best results. Let me know what you find 😀
