Just a quick tip to add. Use a dead blow hammer if you like your ears :P
Transitional metal. Good vid!
Can you this video on a 2010?
Thank you sooo much!
Iâm still lostđđđ. This is also entertaining lol. Which one is it? Mine is making a humming noise.
Idler pulley #2 was the culprit. I replaced idler pulley #1 also for good measure đ
@@EasyFixShaun ok. Iâll listen to all of these again. Iâm hoping itâs an easy fix.

"Rust" is more PC đ
@@EasyFixShaun perhaps, but sounds so mundane, plus who cares about the PC?
You in a rush? complete your sentences.. leave the info on the screen for longer periods of time.. if you don't have the time to slowly explain what you are doing, then don't make the videos.. sorry but.. you rush through EVERYTHING.
Sorry about that. Lots of info to get packed in and i rush things. My bad đ
Almost sounds like a washing machine
Yup good description!
Stop listening at "16 total spark plugs" (in a ford) lol
Yup. 2 spark plugs does nothing đ
Thanksđ
Thank you for watching đ

Thanks for watching đ
I thought this was a video on driving a beating, not inspecting wheel bearings and removing them. This is a full service video. Why canât you just name it as such? Then showing us all the types of cars you work on. News flash for you, a car is a car.
Sorry about that. Good tips i appreciate it greatly. I am not super great at titles and thumbnails but i will revise this one đ
Disconnect the Batteries. Where is the rust?
Good tip. The rust on fuel lines prevents the end nuts from spinning sometimes and they will break the line. The trick is to just spin the filter instead đ
Thank you for teaching us
Thanks for watching! Anytime buddy đ
Hi i have a 09 Pontiac g8 firehawk and recently had the rear rotors surfaced. And ive started noticing a knocking or clacking noise from the rear when i launch. What could it b
Hard to say. If you cant reproduce the noise to track it down easily you could start with the brakes and make sure everything is correct there?
Lol.. easy to reproduce since it seems to haopen nearly every time i take off from any prone position. Even on a smooth surface, it will do it. And i can feel it and hear it. It's usually between 3 and 4 cuh, cuh, cuhs, clank and thump mixed together. But car drives fine going thru gears . No problem.
Does it seem brake related? I would start there and pull it apart, spin by hand. Kinda verify that where you left off is all ok. If nrake work is all ok maybe a driveshaft ujoint or other driveline issue could be explored and checked? Thats the rear wheel drive high performance V8 right?
@EasyFixShaun yeah its the 6.0 GT Firehawk. They made a few 6.2 GXP Firehawks, but i didn't get that lucky.yes, it is a rear wheel, a competition brake package with big 6 piston brakes and 14in rotors. Performance suspension . And a couple more things are all done from the factory.
Sounds very nice! Any luck finding the problem?
You have to machine these valve seats đź
Pretty bad huh!?
loading bearings: nice job

a BIG pipe wrench(?)
Yes! Great tip. If you can attach it somehow that would work great! It might need to be about 10 feet long đ
Omg itâs happening on my 2021 seat Ibiza itâs super annoying đĄ
Very annoying! It is wild how loud they can be when loose.
I replaced my wheel bearing but the sound is still their. And yea its been diagnosed down to the wheel. So iknow its not the other wheels. Help!!! 2000 civic hx pressed bearing and hub.... Not the bolt on crap
Sorry to hear that. If you have isolated it to the wheel bearing that was replaced, maybe there is something wrong with the installation. I would triple check its the whee bearing, and if sure pull it apart and do some directive surgery to figure out what may have happened, and then go from there with repairs.
My wheel bearings lasted about 164k miles
That is perfect mileage đđđ
I have the same sound in the rear wheels of a 2014 mazda cx9...thanks, good video... every time the speed increases, the noise in the car increases...
Excellent! No problem. Don't forget to shake and spin all the wheels. I am often surprised where the noise is coming from đđ
Definitely my problem. Thanks!
Awsome! No problem. Glad to help đđ
What kind of car was this?
This happened to be a front Subaru Wheel Bearing Replacement đ
Would you recommend possibly boiling it for maybe 20 seconds so it can have better elasticity?
Great tip! I have never tried that but I am sure some heat would help đ
Dude explained it perfectly off the bat
Thank you!!
My first timing belt change and I forgot to check the alignment under tension. After 14 hours of grinding away in the garage, this saved me undoing it all just to get access to it all again.
Thank you!!! So glad i could help đđ
2013 jeep wrangler. Twisted a lug nut in half trying to remove with an extractor socket. First time Iâve seen that happen! Lol.
Wow! That would make a great video đ
Great How-To video! I have a 2013 travel trailer. Axles are 3,500-lb, Brakes are 10 x 1-3/4. The studs are 5 on 4-1/2. 14in tires. Everything was made by ALKO which no longer exists and parts are not available. I'm thinking of upgrading the brakes and drums to 10 x 2-1/4 but I'm concerned the original spindles may be too short and/or the new bearings a different size. The axle hub face length measures in at 85in. which I believe is also a size not available. Have you encountered this before? Is having the original brake shoes relined still a thing? ... Thanks
Thanks!! Wow I can believe parts are unavailable already for you axle. There might be several ways to deal with it. You could measure and piece it back together with parts that fit possibly. If it was my trailer I would just put new axles on it if the measurements work like these 3500's from amazon. Shipped right to your door. Bolt em on! Might be easier? 85" Dexter axles w/drums amzn.to/4bVxnN2 85" Rockwell axle Kit with springs amzn.to/3KuWCtL The Rockwell kit has no brakes but you can find the brakes you want and bolt on to them. There are lots of other parts like seals and bearings on amazon too if you go that route., I find measuring my stuff at home and shipping to my door easiest. *Any purchases from my amazon links or while on the website from those links, I make a small portion for the channel. đ
Hey man running with the same problem just canât tell if itâs back or front
Ok. Yes they can be hard to locate while driving many times. Did you have any luck with the handshake test? That will usually locate obviously bad ones đ
If only it was that easy
This one was super easy. Others are not for suređ
Grease and torque? Nope!
good tip! No grease needed. Torqued with very experienced fingers. A torque wrench would always be best though đ
Worst engineering mistakes They've ever made, making these JUNK SWAY BAR LINK'S, ALL JUNK THAT'SMADE THISWAY!!! .They're all sucking bad gas and JUNK. SAWZALL TO CUT OFF FASTER. VERY STUPID DESIGN. NO GREASE FITTINGS ON THEM AND MOST AFTER MARKET ONES TOO. I PUT MOOG ON WITH GREASE FITTINGS AND GREASE THEM
True. Good tip. I try to use OEM as often as possible. I have even felt like I was "rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic" when using aftermarket chassis components or sway bar links with grease fittings. They still fail in 6-24 months. They are often junk parts with a zerk fitting to make me feel better.. I swear the insides are made of balsa wood. đ
I have a noise, not like a clicking but it is a noise mostly when the wheel is turned 80-100% in either direction. Is that a CV or something else?
Yes! Great description and question. You likely have a bad CV-Joint in one of your axles. Can you locate which corner of your vehicle it is coming from?
U r no mechanic rather destroyer.
"its just nuts and bolts" đ
What tool is that?
Stethoscope
Great video. You helped me find that clunk on my car.
Glad I could help! Here is the new version for extra insights on links and bushings if you need it. Fun to watch too đ czcams.com/video/0S8JBe_jn6g/video.html
Ive got a 06 v.w golf tdi 1.9 diesel and i replaced w.p timing belt tentioner and now its out of time it starts but after 1st gear is sluggish bogging and loss of power if i feather pedal it slowly will get up to about 45 mph trying to figure out if its ahead or behind i timing can i reverse the crank and or cam with this trick i was under impdession not to reverse the motor any help would be great
Yup! Watch the video closely. It's a weird concept to grasp even for me! As long as you have a rubber cogged belt and there is room for the special tool to pass cleanly around the pulley in the desired direction..... you should be able to move the timing without removing the belt or tensioner.
Also YES, You can move a timing mark "Forward or Reverse" đ
Ok sweet im doing just that now!!
How did it go? Any luck?
This helped so much! Video was done so well!!! I donât know cars so seeing all this was phenomenal! đđœđ„č thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you much. Did anything need improvement for next time?
I'm hearing a similar sound from my car, however it sometimes disappears for a few months then comes back for about a month or two, then goes away and so on. Could this be the reason?
Hard to say. Check my long form video. There are some easy tests you can try confirm some things đ
does it make the spindle hole oblong?
Good question. I have never seen that happen. The problem is the rust bond. The tool is an attempts to break the rust bond that is holding the knuckle and wheel bearing together, once that happens you are on your way. The knuckles are super strong and might even be the strongest component of the steering and suspension, unless I am forgetting something.....?
I got a 05 chyr town an country. Clunking. In front. Dose all the time. But not over bump.s. just as I'm driving. Slow or fast. Can't find nada wrong. Not getting worse. Weird.
Chrysler minivans have phantom clunks like that from the sway bar links and/or bushings, that are undetectable. The links and bushings will usually feel tight but still clunk. Basically you wanna just replace the bushings and links and cross your fingers. If everything thing else is good in the steering and suspension, usually that will take care of it. I would use OEM genuine parts also for best results. Let me know what you find đ
Nice , time to fix the pms sensors on the cars
Tpms?
@@EasyFixShaun kakakaka yes tpms light is on
@@thehegt I missed that. Nice catch! Good tip! đ
