Also, I like the idea of STRAINING the lye-water solution, which I assume is to prevent mixing in any still-solid lye that has failed to dissolve into solution. @9:42 adding the pine tar-oil solution to the lye-water-hard-boils/butters mixture, & anticipate that trace will now occur quickly. [Note: @13:34 hers did NOT come to come to significant visible trace at all, let alone quickly, which may have been b/c she measured the pine tar in a smaller quantity [as an additive] rather than a larger quantity [as a percentage of the ingredients]. The smaller quantity likely resulted in less influence on the trace set-up. Good to know... Note to self: I would plan to use 20% pine tar in any recipe of this kind.] [7.7.2024]

There were any instructions you were just cutting and talking. The video did not tell how many inches you cut or which direction/angle to cut. I think that the directions to cut at home would be different than an actual professional standing over client's hair. Also the sections were very thick. I'm not used to seeing that in a salon.

What size are your labels and where did you get them printed?

When we talk about thick oils, Castor Oil is extremely thick! HEMP SEED OIL is a smooth feeling oil, not necessarily thick in terms of viscosity! A cross of Olive oil and Sunflower in terms of feel! Also, in cold process soaps the high alkalinity/after saponification doesn't leave much room for benefits. The majority of ingredients are best as a leave on! I make soaps as well with an Esthetics and formulator background and I love Hemp seed oil after using Tretinoin (Retin-A) I make more simple and effective soaps now! I Love the look!

When your business is about production, you have to developing a routine or a schedule. I tend to schedule labor intensive things…like making stuff for the mornings when I’m bright and bushy-tailed. Things that I can do while sitting down I tend to leave for the afternoon. I am only open to the public Tuesday through Saturday afternoon. Mondays I do inventory, ordering, scheduling and update my website and books.

Honestly I get my locs twisted every 2-3 months. I have the salon wash them because my hair is so long but i Used to wash them myself.And they are full and healthy. I have had them for 15 years and its worked thus far.
