Hi, I used to fly in the Britsh League with the likes of Gordon, trevor Birbeck, robbie wittal, darren arkwright ect, ect, european leg Piedriahita spain, unfortunatley buggered my back at work requiring operations so went to micrilighting (700 hours) now live in spain, its brought back many happy memories, still a lifetime honorary member of the Cumbria Soaring Club.

Darren what does the string thing you pull do

Laying in bed at home in Dartmoor enjoying this. What does that string thing do that you pull please?

My partner and I on an extended cycling jolly, about 25yrs ago, from Bergamo to the Dolomites and the northern lakes and mountains and ended up in Bassano, after pedalling from Venice, and pedalled that long road to the top of Monte Grappa. There was a lot of bloodshed in between the Austrians and Italians in WW1 and lots of evidence of their respective dugouts alongside the road. Terrific view at the top looking N to the dollies. The town (city?) of Bassano del Grappa is a fine place. Thanks for sharing the elevated view of the area from on high of that magnificent countryide.

I know you have an emergency chute but at 9,000 feet and the occasional violent thermos you experienced flying through the mountains, do you take pause while in flight and think about how fragile and vulnerable your airframe is (false sense of security)?

Great video; the only thing missing was the singing! I always enjoy doing an X/C on my own, rather than just hopping from gaggle to gaggle.

10,000 A long time... Anoxia a bit, do you think ? Other than that an exciting spectacular flight, I'm happy watching you but will keep to lower key flying.

There is something strangely addictive about the vario tone. Especially, when it starts beeping at a rapid frequency. The vario at 12:10 was off the scale 😂
