You would have to be the original person who did it this way, using gel base and acrylic, and where dip nails began. I started doing gel nail polish and never new of this method 7-8 years ago.

Such a good idea. I keep my decals, foils, nail plates, nail stickers, etc in separate plastic baggies. Albums for nails are usually overpriced and would not hold my whole collection. Your idea is phenomenal!

The activator stung because you either sprayed it too close to your nail, or you applied too thick of an application of the gel. Next time try using a thinner layer of the gel and not having the activator so close . Also it helps if you put a sick line down the center of your nail when you spray the hold your nail vertical, like up and down. So your nail is facing outward and the tip of your nail is facing the floor. Then spray the activator on it

I usually do my dip powder and tips one day and gel polish the next. But my dip powder chips. Why? Also how would you fill dip powder instead of starting over? Also, is it true that you shouldn’t need to file the tops of your nails. Be back tomorrow for an answer. Tyvm for the great video!!!!

TY, for the video. I'm a Licensed cosmetologist of 39 years. First thing I would like to lyk is that if you will take your file and buff the natural nail and the nail tip til smooth, where you don't feel indention. Talking your gel tip horizontally on top of whole nail, spread gel side to side. This technique makes it smoother than lumpy. The BURN You experienced is bc spraying too close. Try spraying the 6"-8" away. Second thing is take your tip and put it horizontally and lightly spread the gel this will keep it from getting lumpy. It is for "Professional use only" this is why they maybe didn't include nail prep (glad you shared that) for the diy's). Let me know if any of these tips were helpful. hairbyleslie

I did this last week and I won't be doing it again. Eventually it did start chipping, because of course it will, and it was AWFUL to remove, even with sanding down and soaking, etc. My poor nails are more fragile now than they were!

Just curious ... can these nail strips not be adhered to natural nails, cut to desired length (longer than natural nails) and then cured under lamp?
