    I have a No 4 Mk-2 and it is a great rifle. I see that someone already commented about corrosive ammunition, I suspect that what you fired was. Mercuric priming, Cordite used as propellent, and Couper Nickel jackets on the bullets make a bad combination and heed the warning, clean with hot soapy water, not just patch it through, however, with a funnel that fits the breach end, pour hot soapy water down the barrel, then clean with "Ballistol' diluted with water, then patch dry followed with some mineral oil on it to protect the barrel. also, don't wait, do it as soon as you get home from the range. it is best that you just go buy some ready made factory ammo such as PPU ammunition. Your rifle is worth more than cheap corrosive ammo. Peace dude. - Dave

    The Toyota factory put exactly 5 quarts in. Warm up the engine for 10 minutes, turn it off, drain the oil, you will wind up with 5 quarts on your first oil change from a factory fill.

    Instead of disconnecting the pair of wires, why not add a "normally closed" push-button switch in series with one of the wires? Then you could simply press the button to make the key removable. This wouldn't disable the alarm feature. (The push-button switch could simply dangle outside the steering wheel column, where it can be operated with the driver's left hand while the right hand turns the key. Or, for more elegance, a hole could be drilled in the steering wheel's plastic sheath that was temporarily detached in the video, and the button-switch could be threaded into a nut placed on the back-side of the hole.)

    @iwantgizm0s Před 5 dny

    2017 Subaru Forester over here also. your video is a life saver. just remove two screws, pop open the steering column's under-cover, and disconnect that wire plug. Key can then immediately come out of ignition when turn off engine. Yay Easy Peasy. Saw other videos etc about straightening the tab under the gear shift stick. Maybe i could look at that someday. And there is getting a new battery could fix this if the sensor connection is underpowered for sensing if the gear shift is in park. And then there is the repeatedly pushing the front button on the gear shift stick -- i should maybe try that -- but i would have to open up the column again & insert that wire plug back in to see if that works. naaah. better to disconnect that plug at the key ignition & leave as is. but i have to bring in the car to the dealer for oil change maintenance & will ask if their key ignition warranty free fix is still available. thanks for your video.

    Follow the European manuals. They have amazing consumer protection laws. Don't follow the us canada manuals because they are required to only recommend the single, lightest oil or they'll literally get fined. Eurppe, Japan, Australia will actually list out all oils you may use based on the temperatures your region has.

  • @gemeinschaftsgeful
    @gemeinschaftsgeful Před 11 dny

    Very many online mechanics say that 5000 miles is the proper oil change. They've seen a lot of disasters with 10,000-mile oil changes. Use the oil weight and type that is recommended for your vehicle.

    • @jason200912
      @jason200912 Před 10 dny

      Better advice is to use the European manual. The US canada manual has to follow epa demands to always recommend the lightest. Europe and Australia recommends the best oil. Australia being the hot climate if you live in high heat us states. Follow the European manual for most

    The 1k break in period oil change is something that was done on older cars. Newer vehicles are built with much more precision so it doesn't need this myth of an oil change. But if it helps you sleep better at night.

    After my 2007 Rav4 was totaled I got a 23 Rav4 XLE. My biggest complaint is the rear door has to be manually opened which is difficult for me, especially if my hands are full. There is no button to push on the dash or remote. Seems like an XLE should have one. I usually put groceries in the back seat so I don't have to fight with the rear door. My 2007 was much easier. I have to scrunch up to get in or out of the car and I'm 5'5". My 2007 was easier. There are no bag hooks in the back. My 2007 had them. Buttons for AC, defroster and heater panel are horrible to find when driving. They are too small, hard to see and not labelled well. My 2007 was better. I despise the radio or infotainment system. Give me back the knobs my 2007 had. It wasn't always trying to sell me satellite radio. I've also opened the hood instead of the gas cap when filling up. Likes: I like the mileage it gets & it isn't a hybrid; 34mpg in town & 38 on highway. The backup camera is a great safety feature. I like keyless door opening with my hand and push button to start it. I couldn't test drive this car before buying it since there weren't any on the lots and I waited months for it to finally get here. What a disappointment. I miss my 2007.

    OIL is CHEAP, I change mine every 3,000 because of the oil being a thinner. 2021 XLE AWD. I don't care what people think of my decision. $3.49 Toyota filter $27.00 Mobile1 5 qt bottle at Walmart. cheapest insurance you could ask for. keep doing what is best for your motor, you are much wiser than most. Changed my rear diff at 5,000 miles & it was BLACK & full of crap, not metal debris but BLACK, changed it 3 more times (each time looked lighter) within 100 miles till it was clear. Change it now every 10,000 & it looks clear. It only takes half a quart for the fill... CHEAP. Did the front Differential also at 5,000 & it was clear & clean. same 10,000 schedule as the rear diff & you can do both with 1 quart. It doesn't get any cheaper than that. 35,000 on the vehicle now & I will be performing a complete Transmission flush in my garage like I do with all my Toyota's. It is easy if you know the sequence of steps & have done your homework. Put a level on the top of your vehicle positioning the level in a spot where the level indicates "LEVEL". Then put all 4 lifting/support areas (on the body pinch welds) on jacks and level the vehicle that was explained using the level. Several you-tube videos & forums explain the process. The Dealer & most independent shops won't do it which makes me question the level of knowledge * skills the dealers & shops have. I won't even take the Dealers "FREE" oil changes, no trust & have had nothing but trouble with Dealers causing more problems.

    I'm watching this in 2024 and here is my discoveries: This works 100%. I have a 2013 Crosstrek and have had this issue for only a few days. I decided I couldn't live with it when I was late to work because my keys were stuck in the ignition. I refused to leave my keys in the car during a 10-hour shift on the Las Vegas Strip. While my keys were stuck in the ignition, I removed the two screws, popped out the white connector, and it immediately removed. It cost me $0 and took less than 2 minutes. After reading through the comments, a lot of people raise concern over being able to remove the key in any gear. There is truth to this, but the key can only be removed while in the OFF position. The key will not budge while the vehicle is on. Otherwise everything functions as before. Thank you to this guy for saving me in a pinch.

    From a mechanical engineers point of view, break in oil changes are now a useless. Just change your oil 8000 KM or six months which ever comes first and you’ll be fine. Engine manufacturing is now a lot more precise than it was 20 years ago. These particles will do nothing of drained at 8000 KM.
