This Channel I have used for years for mostly my own entertainment, I have seen "The Car guys" on here and watch them to see which videos are worth showing my students in class. it is very hard to pick and choose, sometimes I will show some videos to show the unsafe practices that are out there. don't get me wrong, some videos aren't bad some are even good. but how do youtube viewers know. my plan is to show a series of videos of the ASE way, the pro way and the home ways of doing things. my hope is that this might give the viewers/consumers the reasons car repair bills are set the way they are and urge anyone who wants to become an automotive professional that training is so important.

Spicy tea bag that one!
I wish his shop was in NYC!
Can you program a key with the tech 2 for a 96 trans am
If memory serves me. Those key have a resistor in them. Little black chip with connections on both sides. They are not programmed. There are, I think 13 different resistance option for the key. Wrong resistance. No start. Bypass was to put a resistor on the wires going to the key. If it does not have black chip looking. The next gen keys held a black bar and the key was programed and the programing was based on the bidding of the key, so no key or a different key would let the fuel pump run. That key has no chip. Programmed the same as the next gen key. These have a stamp on the key. I believe it's said PK. These have a transponder chip in the head of the key. Programing for those keys are like this: with a good charged battery, put the new key in the ignition and crank the vehicle. Then leave the key in the ignition and on. The key light will now flash... in 10 minutes it will stop. Then turn the key off, crank the engine again, leave the key on again. The light will flash for another 10 minutes. Once it stops again. Turn the key off, now start the car. Keys are programmed. All the tech 2 would do is give you a bar that counts down. Just watch the flashing light.
In the words of jack nickholson you got a big surprise comming to you
I'm going to need a few hours to dissect this HORRIBLE video.
Thx
THANK YOU !
Is this pertaining to 2004 ECM GMC? 1500 GMC 4x4.
Not any more unless you can find really old cd roms that were hard to locate back then. Best way now is to get the GM mongoose cable from Drew technologies and the 2 year subscription for your Vin from GM....
It's two dark and it's hared to hear what you are saying
Worst video of this so messed up ...dude Redo this and simplify it #1 where is it? #2how to access it #3 turn volume up speak clearly
possibly the worst spot to place the other view
Wait a f*cking second. My car doesn't or didn't come with an air filter? Cuz im looking at the exact same thing
It is a non serviceable filter.... if you want to believe it.
thanks for the help
Part numbers please
I have a xp computer but where do I get software?
What year vehicle?
Hat cam should be main video!!
hi there, is the tech 2 clone able to change the VIN on a ecm off another vehicle without online subscription?
The only way is to pay a subscription. Clone, original, J2534.... gm needs to be paid....
Thank you!
czcams.com/video/ziCz8aq0nfM/video.html This shows that there IS supposed to be a filter in there when that thing is lifted up under the windshield wiper.
Some do and some don't
I was wondering how I can adjust the throttle throttle on a 2007 saturn sky since the option doesn't come up in special functions
There is no adjustments that can be made. You didn't state weather you have a the 2.0 turbo or 2.5l but both have no adjustments, they are sealed, they calibrate on their own. The only thing you can do is clean it. If it is not working, idle is to high or to low, setting codes, all you can do is replace it. Make sure there are no intake manifold leaks if the idle high or low.
such a fucked up video deadass u don’t help.
Do you think installing an electrostatic filter in the front of the car where you opened that part will suffice?
I don't know but i would bet it would get clogged quick with stuff on the road.

The only thing I would ad is that the ''peg'' that comes up through the lug hole should be on the side of the paddle wheel that you are turning towards. The purpose is to keep the paddle wheel from spinning, in your example you had it on the wrong side. Not a big deal but if more force was applied it would not stop the paddle wheel from moving which is it's intended purpose. Just something to pay attention to.
You probably know this by now but you should not lubricate the bed surface of the tire. It could slip under hard acceleration or breaking and cause a loss of air or an imbalance. Only lube the drop center of the rim and the inside area of the bead. I am not an expert but that’s my opinion. Great idea making the plastic guards.
Lol, no... you are not lubricating the drop center because all the friction when installing a tire is at the bead, with out lube the tire will tear, the lube used for tires are water based and drys in a few minutes.
Hello, and where can I buy such a tire iron?
Link in the description from the manufacturer.....
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I just got my No Mar tire changer and could not got my new tire on the rim. Their videos didn’t explain or show that the top of the tire had to be in the drop. You’re video clicked with me and it took about 10 seconds to get the tire on.
Thanks
3:36 "where the hell is this air filter" -Proceeds to disassemble the whole car.
When you get a paper filter from the parts store you expect there to be a conventional air filter..... then you go to change it and find the "lifetime" filter.... I leave the video in hopes someone else doesn't go looking for the paper filter......
@@ASEKen @ASEKen I would have done close to the same thing that you did, but luckily you saved me from that pain In the ass! Thanks! I just wanted to do some basic matinance but Ford was like, "lul wat matinance".
You're supposed to drill a hole in the head and put them in a bucket of water and don't be stupid when you do this.
You will notice the title says safe.... if you don't like your hand, go ahead and put it in the water..... this was a demonstration at a school. So it needed to be safely done.
Thank you, have ford foucs 2006 my car enter program mode after 4 times beeps but when i pressed key button nothing happened please if you can help
Love it
Thats a cool socket wrench
Can i do this with only pc and usb obd2
Today you can do it with a j2534 tool that has the protocol of your pcm and an online subscription for your vin that cost $40 and last 2 years..... this video is very old and outdated.
I couldn't watch the entire show but the manufacturer requires replacing the brake caliper anchor bolts but I reuse them by applying loctite (medium) and torquing them to 92 ft lbs. Torque the brake caliper guide pin bolts (no loctite needed) to 21 ft lbs.
I have a 2009 Focus. Key fobs stopped working for some reason. Both fobs. Central locking system within car still worked perfectly. I watched this video and didn’t get the key fobs working on first attempt. Tried a second time - nope. Then I thought maybe the timing of my cycling the ignition eight times was off. I watched the video again and turned the key along with the guy in the video. When I turned the eighth time the door locks immediately cycled a few times. I didn’t even have to hit the buttons on the key fob and all was fixed. Thank you, sir. I appreciate you for taking the time to post this video. Much appreciated!! Cheers.
thanks it was very helpful to see this demo
Sorry to be late to the discussion. I have a 2000 Saturn SL2 that had No Options (My Screw-Up). I saw a video that Factory Cruise Control could be added on to these, so I checked into it and the Steering Wheel Switch connector was there and the Pedal Module connector under the dash as well. Well, come to find out this year was Not plug and play as the 91-99 was and the 2000-2002's needed programmed to enable it. Lol, are You Serious ? No shop or Dealer can do this anymore ? From what I've read online that normally Saturn Techs were the only ones that knew how this worked. No Dealers would even tackle the process, as I figured from the start, because it was too good to be true that they could. I've spent $200 on shops Claiming they could do it and completely failed. One luckily only charged Me for a Diagnostic fee of $40. The other, not so. They don't have any idea how this works and it's so simple. They either claim it's too old or they don't have the equipment anymore. I can see that I guess. Appears now I'm going to have to go with the Rostra Aftermarket set-up to get CC. I don't see any other way. Seems it's odd that no one can do this. Whatever ?!
Sir, i want to buy
Question ?? I'm new at this and wanting to pick up a tech 2 for both our gm's one is an 07 and the other is an 98 . I'm just wanting to track down the issues that we have with them = abs ,windows that stuff . Would this work for us ?? We have other scanners but they want dig deep into some areas. Thanks !! Cheers from Murrell's Inlet SC
It depends on what you want to do. If you just want to get codes and scan tool data then all you need is a good universal scanner, if you want good bidirectional control of actuators you just need a more expensive one. I use an autel mx808 for basic scanning, I use an autel ms906ts for enhanced stuff. I also use my launch 431 x3 for enhance, they are more affordable than a used tech 2 and you can do so much more. These tools have cloned all of the functions of the tech 2 except the programming of modules, and if you want to try programming I recommend the mongoose cable from Drew technologies, and with that you can use the gm tech2win, it can do most things the tech2 can do, it only misses a few communication protocols like late 90s abs systems. My tech2 now is now collecting dust because every time I try to use it, I find the autel ms906ts can do the exact same thing..... hope this helps
@@ASEKen very helpful . Thanks
So is in the front or in the glove box?
This car did not have one
hi i looked every where and can't find this bar anywhere . who sell's this BAR ??

And you can buy on eBay a complete air box and replace that life time air filter box because ford wants 500$ too put a new one
On that 2000 to 2015 its a life time air filter. .
