  • @peaceful4you408
    @peaceful4you408 Před 7 lety

    Pretty much nowhere. It's a useless subject to learn. It's kinda like studying sociology, economics and psychology. Another area that's not marketable. Most people don't use math in reality beyond adding and subtracting. The more advanced math are usually only for engineers or actuary or something like that. Been a software developer for 13 years and never once even touched algebra. Those math courses back in college was a complete waste of my time and money.

      studying math itself CAN land you in ANY field that has been built on math itself. physics, engineering, economics, rocket science. etc etc.

    • @peaceful4you408
      @peaceful4you408 Před 7 lety

      Ferlie Math has never been a very marketable dicipline to learn but it does have a few advantages compared to not having learned anything. Mathematics is really just something people study because they are passionate about numbers. It has no real world marketable value at all and some of the best careers in the world don't use math beyond basic arithmetic. I know a few people who majored in mathematics and could never get a job beyond minimum wage. It's kinda like study sociology or psychology. No market value what so ever. Although I have always liked math myself, I kinda respect and understand the point of view from the people who hate it. They are technically correct. Math can be useless in many areas.

      Abdoul Rachid Ayouba I'm pretty decent at it at the level I need it for. However, the math that goes beyond the level of math I need is a ridiculous. None I've ever met in the technology industry uses math beyond basic arithmetic. I work as a software developer by the way.

    • @abdoulrachidayouba4550
      @abdoulrachidayouba4550 Před 6 lety

      Ryan Heard What makes you decent in math? Of course you can't see the use of math because your field doesn't allow you. The art of developing software was created based on mathematics. You said math is not a marketable field, what about actuaries who use advanced math in their daily occupation. You called math ridiculous, i don't even know why i'm having this argument with you. Wall street is packed with pure mathematiciens. Do some research.

The study of this amazing subject gives one; lot of happiness and peace of mind whenever I see it's applications giving us the most beneficial solutions for many sorts of intricate problems. Mathematics is my soul, my life, my love at first sight, my wealth, my health and my religion.

    Terry Tao and a few others might well challenge Gauss, I think, and more generally, these are the Golden Years of Mathematics :), with loads of talent and research, and lots of big, old problems being solved. Gauss, Euler, Pascal, Newton, Leibniz, and others were pretty special though, which is why we remember them and still heavily use their results today. However, they often found low-hanging fruit, and the research from that time is dwarfed by all the good research pouring in today.
