If you’re chasing speed, I think it’s better for you to go for max rated hp outboard for the boat. Since you dont have to do the same mod on your motor twice or more if you are upgrading it. I would go for 3 cylinders 40/50 hp 2 strokes yamaha. You can put 75hp yamaha carburetor on it, bigger cdi unit and exhaust mod. Plus surface piercing and jack plate. I think it can hit 60+ mph. Here, same boat as mine with moded 18hp tohatsu can do 55+ mph. About the 4 strokes motor, tbh i never have any experience on one. Imo they’re better for cruising. Boleh tuan. Enjin ni standard lagi. Tak buat apa2. Cuma tukar propeller guna solas pitch 13. Lepas tu lubang exhaust kluar atas dr paras air. Tak kluar ikut propeller. Tempat sangkut kena tinggi sikit dari biasa. Kira masa bot jalan propeller setengah je dalam air. Kalau bot ringan boleh guna sampai pitch 16. Ada bot kawan guna tohatsu 18 lagi laju dr bot saya. Jenis bot sama. Cuma tukar carburetor, cdi dgn tukar exhaust.

Tapi yamaha rpm tak bleh tanggi jadi macam semput letup2 ada ubat die tak hahahah

Hi, please note that my outboard engine is stock. 1. Your boat need to be light. 2. Need a stainless steel prop with high pitch. If you can get a racing cleaver, that’s even better. I have mine modified. Need to be surface piercing. 3. Mount your motor as high as possible (reduce the drag & help the motor to run at higher rpm). This one might take few trial and error to get it just right. Same goes with the trim. I have mine at position 4 from the bottom. Not to jack or trim your motor too high or else the prop will have no grip. 4. Need to extend your outboard skeg. If you want to mount your motor high, you need to extend your skeg. This will help to keep your boat running straight and avoid your boat spun at high speed. 5. And don’t forget about your water pickup. I have the stock water pickup sealed and drill a new one at the bottom of my gearcase.

Thanks! Do mean the lower unit? It is modified standard lower unit with standard gear ratio. Just extended the skeg (fin) of the lower unit and added nose cone. So that i can mount the motor higher to accommodate surface piercing prop. Mainly for stability at top speed. Feel free to ask me anything. Im more than happy to answer

It is a 12ft fiberglass boat. Very light. But it’s still limited by the prop i currently run with the boat. Can get a better top speed if fitted with higher pitched prop. Tem que considerar também que ele está em um barco de 12 pés, 3,6 metros, levíssimo. Se por essa helice em um barco de 6 metros com o peso da tralha, é capaz de ficar amarrado e não render.

If im not mistaken it was 10” x 13p solas stainless steel propeller. But it has been modified into a cleaver.

@@MrPayara45 Hi! you can begin with higher pitch stainless steel propeller. Look for surface piercing as it can help your engine run at higher rpm. Next you can experimenting with height of engine mounting. If you can get a jack plate that is even better. So that you can fine tune you motor height. I think that is as much as you can do with a standard engine. If you want more out of your engine, you can fit bigger carburetor, better cdi unit, higher flow rate fuel pump, different exhaust shapes and sizes. Thanks!
