And then you will finally be able to hit an elephant's ass at 15 yards.
580 series seems much better than the 180 I had back over a decade ago. But I also sucked (but didn't know it) as a shooter back then, too. Really waiting to get Tech Sights mounted before I do an AQT, but if my preliminary zero group is any indication of what I can expect, I'm going to be pretty tickled with the Mini. We'll see, but I do think I'll perform better on the AQT with my iron sight AR. www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-rifle/mini-14
Now this is a awesome video
Glad you liked it. This video put me in contact with some interesting researchers...see the follow up video... www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-pistol/9mmvs22lr
If you regularly train with the AR platform so you don’t have to “tap tug check”. I’ve never even heard of the tug after inserting the mag, if you train regularly the tap is enough. You do make a good point on accidental magazine releases though, however the AR platform is not meant to be slung over the shoulder like the M14. It is more so designed to be slung cross body to the front or to the rear, overall shoot what you train with. If you’re more familiar and more efficient with the m14 than an AR platform rifle, by all means stick to it, as long as we the people remain armed.
I don't generally do the tap, but if I'm not time constrained I generally do the tug. Our whole team generally does the tug with AR's. But we do not generally test rock in mags on the AK or Mini...relying on the audible and tactile click. I do run the MagPul MS3 single/two point sling on the RDB, Hellion, and MDR because bullpups are too short to make good use of a sling as a shooter's aid. But AR's, we all run the GI cotton canvas sling...foremost as a shooter's aid (hasty sling and loop sling). Not as flexible for carry as the MagPul offerings, but way more effective when shooting. These slings also grace all of our 10/22's...except for the recent 10/22 takedown project. www.ambgun.com
The PMR30 IS the shit!! 22lr is good too!
I really want to test the CMR30.
Great info but you killing me with that helmet lmao
Many videos I do try to have some part of my wardrobe aimed at undermining my credibility. My way of mocking those who are obsessed with boosting theirs.
I own a 1989 built one of these. It has no magazine trigger lock. You can remove the trigger lock on later models by removing the right hand grip plate and removing the flat bar that goes from the trigger mechanism to the bottom of the magazine housing. Easy Peezy fix.
Thanks...Wish I had know that when I still had the Buckmark.
Tactical skirt
That grass was prickly...deep, too.
But the chance your going be in a gunsmoke quick draw shootout is very, very rare. You can have a manual safety and use it and if you don't want it don't use it.
That guy, a year or two ago, that smoked the robber in the TX breakfast cafe patiently waited for his opportunity.
It's not so much effectiveness as it is the reliability of the rim fire ammo. 22lr will kill no doubt. As long as it goes bang when you need it to. But I'm not willing to bet my or my familys life on it. I will stick with center fire. Not throwing shade at the p17 I would buy one but only for a range toy.
Love my Mini 14
Same here, but I'm not exactly sure why. A series of Mini 14 shorts are coming... www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-rifle/mini-14
Best video vs those others 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒
Why so sad?
Just have the mounting block made out of titanium, not steel. Problem solved.
Even then the weight of the optic will reduce reliability. Best is the lightened slide of Keltec's offering... czcams.com/video/7UKOfavJKB4/video.htmlsi=FKFWL-4KhvGFWHRC
I bought Six P17s for my family members on sale for $169 ea. Now we all have CC, same mags and alternate Federal Punch with CCI stingers in the mag loading for 2 to 4 round taps -- always!!! We train to crouch, (takes us out of line of fire for the split second you need, makes us smaller target, and more stable platform), shoot "up" and shoot head, neck, pelvis til the threat is down. Pelvis rounds frequently hit bony pelvis and deflect up, through large vascular on the way up into chest through lungs and heart, negating most body armor immediately!!!! Four to face, four to pelvis should put any attacker down: brain/cord scramble and/or leaking profusely. ❤ your style, facts and content. TY. Subscribed.
A micro red dot would be sweet on this thing.
The peep sight works well. Keystone does offer a optics mount, but it seems a bit kludgy to me. Coming soon is a review of the 5.7mm Dark Mountain Stowaway and it features a pic rail on which I'll be mounting the Viridian RFX44. darkmountainarms.com/rifle/
Grandad just got done banging your old lady and he saw the opps while keeping it humble riding the bike
Did the gun come with the optic plate if you wanted to remove the red dot from it ???
Covered that in the video right at 90 seconds czcams.com/video/-W_J41Tlleg/video.htmlsi=7UygifLARUhxi724&t=90 No optic cutout filler plate included with the P322 Optics Bundle...it's an extra $50. Hence my recommendation to buy the pistol without the optic and mount a Shield Sights RMSc or SMSc.
Tell your cake to stop staring at my eyes
Let's talk torque. Most red dots will torque to 15lb I've seen some as high as 20. If you don't know call Shield, and they will give you a definite torque. Now here is why your red dot was not centered when you mounted it. Unless you or someone else goofed around and moved the windage screw from the factory, I have not found one yet that wasn't dead center and this is where screw size and thread pattern and most importantly torque come in. People think this is not possible but I've proven over and over so I know for a fact it all comes into play. I've purposely used shorter screws and not used my torque driver to show people it matters and will start your zero off wrong before you ever try to zero it. If you torque one side let's say at 15 just using a driver and not a torque driver. When you tighten the other screw unless you get lucky and happen to hit the exact same torque and say you torque it to 20 the you just pulled that dot off center. People think the little dimples on many red dots stop this but it doesn't. Screw size and thread pattern will do the same thing. Too short or even slightly different thread pattern and you get the same problem plus almost a 100 percent chance of it coming lose. I've seen guys shoot 100 rounds watching their red dot go all over the place and think theirs is broken and all along it was one of or a combination of all these what seem like insignificant details is the only problem they had. Torque wrenchs for these low settings on very small screws get a little costly buy if you own more than one gun using any kind of aftermarket optics it will pay for itself after using it 3 or 4 times. Good luck. Those are some of the best red dots you can buy and they actually make several other high end brands under contract then that brand sells it as theirs. With the right screws and torque. I doubt you will have any other issues at all.
The great thing about this P17 is that you can buy the CT red dot slide and swap that slide out for the oem slide in seconds, unlike all other guns when you have a red dot, the iron sights are worthless and to remove that red dot you need tools ... If you dont have the tools to remove it, that gun is a paper weight unless the bad guy is right ON you. Otherwise if this red dot on this P17 fails, you swap out the slide and you are back in business.
I have a couple videos on Keltec's red dot slide. I really like it when playing with the dueling tree, but I carry with the iron sights. www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-pistol/keltec
@@AmbGun oh i agree, when carrying, def use the iron sights as its smaller to conceal.
Wasn't aware it would reliably shoot short shells. That's nice.
Reliable with the OpSol Mini-Clip installed.
@@AmbGun Thoughts on the Defender Tactical version?
@@willkiker6892 I don't know which version you mean. And being a shotgun novice, Im the worst person to ask. But I'll toss out some generic opinions about shotguns. 1. Not a fan of pistol grips. I like them on bullpups where I can one hand shoot and am indifferent on AR's. 2. I kind of like pump actions for use of a variety of ammo like mini-shells. 3. I really could not discern a difference in recoil between mini's and standard shells...I think I get in the zone and just don't notice. 4. I prefer rifles and handguns. 5. I don't think a red dot is that important for shotguns...except maybe for slugs.
@AmbGun no worries. It is another company's version of a similar product. It looks like they offer a more semi permanent solution, but I wasn't sure if that's exactly what I was going for.
@@willkiker6892 simply it put, it doesn't actually shorten the receiver length, and the minishells can and will dance around, especially pointed up and down, or with the ejection port pointed downward. 590S does the same, but is not as jumpy. This video helps demonstrate how the OPSol works. czcams.com/video/kbD6Yh0Ou58/video.html
Thank you! I just got my first Ruger 10/22 and your video has been most basic and clear I’ve found (which is what I need!).
I'm so happy someone found it beneficial. If you're in the USA, I highly recommend attending a Project Appleseed 2 day Rifle Marksmanship Clinic. The 1022 is perfect for it. Excellent instruction. Very affordable. I have a very old series on attending... www.ambgun.com/appleseed-prep

Such a well done product. Once installed, it looks factory .
👍
Now I wish they made them for P17 mags.
bro, u can swap the charging handle to the other side
Yes, configurable for left hand or right hand use. But not optimal for dynamic ambi like the Desert Tech MDR or Springfield Hellion...but for other reasons (like exceptional trigger) I prefer the RDB over these two. www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-rifle/keltec-rdb
Can the charging handle swap to the right side?
Yes
@@AmbGun thank you :)
I’m left handed but damn does holding a bullpup as a left handed look so cursed or wrong
As for dynamic Ambi, the Hellion is pretty awesome. But cold weather reliability and long term sight rail to barrel connection, not so awesome.
I love mine.
I love all four of mine equally. Just sold my last center-fire 9.
"This stock fits my face better" 😉😎

A .22 whith proper placement,is completelely deadly? Truth

I bought a P17 last week, fired it for the first time this morning, put over a 100 rounds through it, was able to put all shots in in the target, (just a printed sheet of paper) at 70 ft and I'm a fairly new shooter. Easy, accurate, inexpensive gun to shoot, compact and lightweight. I was thinking I'd buy a J-frame to use as my CCW, I bought the P17 just for the fun of it but maybe it will be my CCW.
More hits on target per second...the P17 crushes it.
Just bought one at Prepper Gun Shop for $179
Bargain. Be sure to check out the AmbGun P17 page... www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-pistol/keltec
I have to engage the mag release button while inserting a magazine. I don't know what the issue is because it works fine otherwise
Even with empty mags? Do you have more than one mag?
wanted a 2nd one but Academy had 9mm 115g 250 round box for $50 + my 10% discount which made it $45 and i could NOT pass that up so that $250 went to ammo ...
That's an awesome bargain. Close to quality rimfire price. Blazer Brass? I just sold my last 9mm and yet even I'd have a hard time passing up that kind of pricing.
@@AmbGun Yea that was Monarch brand which i find is very good ammo. Blazer Brass is still $15 a box of 50 which is 30 cents a round. Blazer is also good ammo. I use them also but i use the monarch as Academy pushes them cheaper. 22LR is about ~10 cents a round depending on where you buy, locally its 10 cents a round. On-line i can find them for 7-8 cents a round but by the time you add in shipping and insurance, its the same price to buy locally and get it same day. But academy had that sale for 3 days and the 2nd day they were all sold out and he told me they got a pallet of 250 boxes. I told him at that price its a no brainer
I hear what you're saying and you can compare all ammo and firearms this way. Anybody who thinks that the 22 long isn't deadly is crazy. But I like a little more power than a 22 it just makes me sleep better at night.
Be sure to check out the follow-up video...might find that you'll ultimately sleep better at night with a rimfire. www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-pistol/9mmvs22lr
They chose the CT because its the lightest red dot on the market which should help keep slide kick to a min
The Shield SMSc on my scale, 16.5 grams, is exactly the same as the CT1500. But I'm not sure about the accuracy of my little kitchen scale.
@@AmbGun The Ketec tech on the phone said it was the lightest red dot at the time so they went with it. Any other red dot will add more weight to the slide and can hinder its kick back.
Ive got this slide on my P17 ... I love it
My most heavily used P17's are all with the irons. But I do like KelTec's red dot slide. I'd love to get hold of just the lightened slide to run on my iron sighted pistols...just for elegance factor of that cool logo.
@@AmbGun oh yea that Keltec logo cut into the slide def has that cool factor to it.
A review of the 3HD that often favorably compares it to the VX Freedom. czcams.com/video/g2q8XQHz_Og/video.htmlsi=D0hQnVeG3tAfm1nr

Excellent information, thank you.
Happy to hear. Check out our other videos on the LCP II... www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-pistol/ruger
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Its stupid not to have an heel mag release on these small concealed pistols.
I've been a hardcore advocate for the paddle mag release, but I think you're right the heel catch makes sense for these tiny pocket pistols. It's way more important that those first couple of rounds work than it is to do rapid mag changes after ten rounds are spent.
The .22 MAGNUM rimfire caliber is much better for Survival use !
Watch for a forthcoming review of the Dark Mountain Stowaway.
Im curious how you feel about reliability. Ive heard many people say 22 ammo is iffy and shouldn’t be used for self defense for this reason. I dont know though, would you say the p17 is prone to malfunction?
Running CCI Mini-Mag in the P17, I cannot casually detect a reliability difference vs the many center-fire pistols I've tested. I suspect I would need at least 50,000 rounds of Mini-Mag and center-fire to validate or disprove any such claim. I also have a series of videos on the tiny 22LR Ruger LCP II. Great DEEP concealment option. Clean, I find it very reliable for 50 rounds of Federal Punch...which is good enough for my needs. My P17's are way more reliable. I wish Keltec would make a P17 reduced to the LCP size.
i own a P17 and i go to the range with it just about every sunday or every other sunday and i fire off 200 rounds of cci mini mags on every trip. The last time i had a "failure" was about 3 trips back and i had 2 stove pipes from the same 100 block count. And both stove pipes were in the same magazine and were within about 3 rounds of each other. So it fired, got the stove pipe and i cleared it, shot off 2 more rounds and that 3rd was another stove pipe, cleared it out and the rest were all good. Since that day, the last 2 sundays combined i have fired off 400+ rounds and NO failures of any kind. CCI mini Mags are supposed to be the best of the 22LR so thats what i use all the time. There are cheaper made rounds and those will give you a much higher chance of failure. i would most def use it as a conceal carry because this guy is very light weight and only weighs 14.7 ounces with 17 rounds. That is very LIGHT. My P365X with 15 rounds weighs 23 ounces and that feels like a brick in my side pocket and weighs down so i know its there all the time, My P17 in my side pocket i can stand there and not know its there because its not pulling down. The last thing i will say is that my P365X is a micro compact and its VERY snappy and its a 9mm which means its LOUD. P17 is a 22LR which means little to no recoil and its quiet.

I fear the west has been enticed by baits. "All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him." Sun Tzu - The Art of War

Can you create animation to describe how it works?
Yes, but it'd cost about $5,000. And it would probably suck.
what length is the barrel?
Damn! That's pretty cool. Price? Are they commonly sold?
You're not likely to see one in your local gun shop. But you can buy one online and have it shipped to your local FFL. keystonesportingarmsllc.com/product/keystone-precision-model-6061-overlander-pack-rifle-threaded-carbon-fiber-rifle-only/
I did relocate the beautiful DLC bolt and the trigger to my fixed barrel, iron sights Appleseed rifle.. so the takedown now has a Ruger BX trigger and stock Ruger bolt.
