My brother used to watch those godawful goanimate videos and used to get in trouble for it because he kept repeating them at school. And if I had to guess its because, like him, he was coddled and spoiled and never actually disciplined so some weird fascination? The GA shit started well before he was a teenager but it just escalated and got worse, then it evolved into "video of any random kid being punished or outright abused". Where was his, no, our mom in all of this? Just letting it happen and refusing to let me or anyone else do anything to correct concerning/disturbing behavior with "weLl hE's My kId" and paying more attention to Fuckbuddy Of The Month. Dad's long gone probably snorting crack off a hooker's tits. This is years upon years of anecdotal evidence that no, sticking electronics with an internet connection in a kid's face and neglecting them is not the answer, not some weird ableist rant that I know anywhere else it will be written off as. I dont see too many of these people getting their shit together enough to start families of their own but if they do I *hope* they don't just recite these.. things.. word for word whenever they have to put little Timmy in the timeout corner. i was playing left 4 dead 2 with a friend a few months back, we left the lobby open for people to join so we wouldn't have to play with bots. a guy joined and immediately ran ahead of us and started initiating all the events before we could get to them (it was swamp fever so calling the ferry, opening the hatch on the airplane, etc) and it made it very boring. we kicked him and he said something like "wow i guess im too good at the game" he was good at the game undoubtedly, but i wanted to play l4d2 with my friend, not speedrun it.

We've found it, the ultimate essence of that one guy who joins a game, runs 5 miles ahead of the team, gets pounced by a hunter and dies, calls everyone else slurs for not saving him, and leaves
