Georgian Bay has always been in my blood....spent many summers as a kid at a fantastic boys camp (Camp Beausoleil a YMCA camp on the north tip of Beausoleil Island). Sadly it was demolished in 1981😢. There's just something magical about that ancient Shield landscape thats like nowhere else. As Canadians, we're also influenced by that "Group of Seven" northern Ontario influence. Hoping one day to do the Great Loop myself, but may start with a "mini" loop from here in Toronto around the Trent/great lakes loop. Hope you guys have great memories to cherish and thanks for the great videos...they are enjoyable and informative at the same time. Kevin

Thanks. What I did different was use a Milwaukee Nail-Guard Fang Tip wood/Bi-Metal SAWZALL Blade. The blade is short but cuts a lot faster and easier with bigger chips and less dust but a lot more noise (wear your ear plugs). I used an inexpensive Walmart battery saws-all. It worked great. I had my wife use her flower watering can to drip water on the cutting blade(not the saw) to reduce the dust. (Keep some oil on the saw shaft). We cut it up in pieces small enough to fit in big garbage bags that fit inside the garbage can to be hauled away free over a period of several weeks.

I'm not sure if U.S. requires people to learn international boating etiquette when getting certified or not, however I have noticed a disturbing number of U.S. yachts sailing in Canadian waters with their country flags flying wrong. As a Canadian Navy Veteran I find this so disrespectful. The flag of the country your sailing in flies above your country of registry flag, not at the same height, if you cannot fly two flags at separate heights only fly the flag of the country your sailing in.

I've never cut up a hot tub, but I have demolished 3 fiberglass boats and I've found the 24 tpi metal cutting blades work a lot faster than the coarse tooth blades used in this video.

Followed Scho and Jo almost from the beginning of their loop. VLOG last night was pretty emotional for me and all I did was watch them! I'm sure it was more emotional for them and anyone that looped with them. They led me to you and the Boomershines. Glad to see them start dropping their loop videos and this one from you.

I have anchored in these places for many years with my sailboat especially after I retired and lived on my boat for the boating seasons. I'm now too old and beat up for this and miss the lifestyle terribly. However, I get to live vicariously thought your adventures and that of other loopers. I have been dealing with moles for a long time now so I decided to fight back. Tired of the little boogers destroying my yard. I purchased traps like these on Amazon. The first couple of times my son put them out for me, nothing. Finally after locating a new run, he put out one of the traps. The next day we noticed it had tripped. When he pulled it up, there was a dead mole. I was so happy. One down and I don't know how many to go.

The budget comment cracked me up…”The Great Loop, it costs more than you expect so there is no boat money left.” I breathed an “Amen” to that and then realized that, as much as we’ve spent, we are really just getting started. As you know we spent the first few months going backwards from Lake Superior through Canada (thanks for stopping by our anchorage in Georgian Bay). After the winter in New Bern NC now we’ve turned around and are heading up the east coast to do the loop the right way around. This winter we got new canvas, new dinghy, and new refrigerator. That pretty much ate up a bunch of the emergency boat fund, and then discovered we needed to replace the generator! “Breathtakingly expensive” is a term I heard from a looper once. That was the generator. And we still have ~6000 miles to go. I’m hoping it all goes well. - Thankful the stock market has been hanging in there. Brenda on Blessings Flow

The fact that you can pull the pin down is perfect. I eventually want to do something like this to my finished attic but because the stairwell and landing is small and the door is basically in a corner I need to be able to easily remove the door to pull furniture in and out when we eventually move or replace things.

Wonderful to hear from you. Very glad all is well, you are enjoying more-or-less retirement. Also glad to hear the Great Loop experience did not end your cruising dreams! The Puget Sound region is a fabulous cruising ground from what I have read. I cruised Alaska on a cruise ship and it seemed like a beautiful but unforgiving, demanding place to cruise -- big distances, rough weather, minimal support facilities. If you are going to do the Inside Passage, buy something capable! Thanks for the update, hope you post once in a while going forward.

Great to see you guys again. We ran across your channel randomly while searching for a boat repair and have absolutely loved your journey; you have really inspired us. Similarly, unexpected health issues at an early age have made us question our 60hr a week professional jobs and re-eval what’s important. But in a future video would you be able to share your boating history?? It seems as if you’ve always been boaters or came at the loop knowing a ton. We are new to boating and have taken some classes with the local Power Squadron (which we’ve really enjoyed) but how did you both become so competent and capable at this? We have no friends or family into the hobby so it’s been a fairly solo endeavor to date. Thanks for considering our suggestion!
