Annika Schilke and Ebonee Woods highlight Urbandale's new Comprehensive Plan and its role for the community. The plan, adopted in December 2023, serves as the foundation for the City's decision-making over the next 20 years and will guide us as we work to implement the community's vision. what's the point of a biking community if you all get in stupid spandex and have to drive your two ton cage to do it? Can anyone here just be normal and bike to a friends house or the store without being a massive cager? It can't be that hard, can it????
sustainable action plan: where the needle is moved so little that maybe you can drive your car to go to a park, shopping center or be outside at a park or trail! Wait, you can already do that?. Oh, okay. Yeah, this does nothing. Just say you are going to do the same parking minimum requirement of the last 50 years of suburban hell scape and call it good. This is a nothing burger and will be a failure of city planning the we have been building cities for the last 50+ years from ponzi scheme Levittown.

Why didn't they make it a SPUI or a Diverging-Diamond? Seems like kind of a backwards thought process to make it a regular-old diamond.
Diamond interchanges are most effective in areas where traffic is lighter and a more expensive interchange type is not needed.

I can tell you for sure that Urbandale has one of the best fire departments that I have ever imagined. Not only do they do their jobs but their professionalism and kindness are above and beyond.
A lot to love! The library is my favorite, but I love the push for more bike paths & uplifting people in our community who need help the most. I will have to check out that report though, I'm really hoping to see more apartment style condos constructed in the near future. I currently rent here but I would love to make urbandale my permanent home! I just want something small like a one or two bed place, but there's not a lot of options like that currently available in town 😢
This is going to be a big waste of money. That mall needs tore down.
