This time of year we all dream of the signings we'd make, with talk of Cash, Carlos and Moreno off, Villa maybe looking to offload Dignes wages, Maatsen on the left, Frimpong on the right, Todibo at CB, Guendouzi to replace Luiz, crazy but not too far fetched if we wonna challenge on 4 fronts. Ramsey to stay regardless, homegrown potential like that won't be cheap to replace, Abraham.. Bring him back in a heartbeat, having come back from a serious injury, I don't see him causing too much fuss playing back up to Watkins but would challenge more than Duran and end up getting more game time, but Watkins still the main man. Interesting to see about Archer

Keep the players, spend the money, take the 6 points or so. You get a points deduction you might slip down the league. Sell your best players you definitely will.

I don't think we need to panic with the potential players we're hearing about being sold, it's not what we want,but once the accounts are straight for the june 30th FFP/PSR deadline i see us bringing in some good players. After this deadline we have more time/room for maneuver & with the extra money from sponsorship deals,UCL football & extra hospitality areas etc. that bump up our revenue for the next accounts I'm sure we'll be in a better position moving forward,none of us like to see the likes of Dougie being sold & for less money than i would've expected,but the situation is what it is & we can also take advantage of other clubs needing cash to comply with the shitty PSR regulations & pick up players for less than market value. I think we need to trust in the top people we are lucky to have at our club & not judge too much before the end of the summer transfer window,we never know all the details about what's happening behind the scenes & hopefully we'll be in a stronger position overall going into next season....... up the mighty Villa!!!! 😊

No ones mentiond anywhere how important Luiz is for our set pieces and penalties. They all come from him. When replacing we're really going to need to consider those attributes too

Tielemans in no way is a replacement for Luiz. Completely different positions. Tielemans can fill in at the double pivot if necessary but by no means should he be playing in there permanently. Sometimes i agree with Sam's wild takes but sometimes I question if he actually watches us

Im losing faith in our club a bit in how we are just selling all our players and spending 400 milliin on upgrading a few seats everton are spending 800 and getting a brand new sparkling stadium and birmingham are building a 2 billion stadium

I’m glad you said “when he wants to” re Dougie. He is a great player but for most of his time at Villa he’s been bang average including half of last season. I’m not sad about this sale at all.

For me I have to say Douglas Luiz is overrated & to get 50-60 million for him is good business 👏 I'm not sure about McKennie as he's not consistent enough IMO, Illing Junior however looks very good as he is fast & apparently is a bit of an assist king & potentially has a very high ceiling. What excites me is this deal plus Duran, Cash, Moreno, Digne, Carlos, Dendoncker & Coutinho gets PSR & FFP off our backs. Therefore allowing us to spend with a bit more ease without the need to sell Watkins, Bailey or Martinez. I would love to see the likes of Gallagher, Dumfries, Hermoso, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Grealish (loan) & Abraham coming in. We still have players like Mings, Kamara, Buendia & Ramsey coming back from injury that will seem like new signings so it really is a great time to be a villa supporter 🙌

Yes I would Jack is quality and has something that you can't train whilst Dougie is very much a replaceable midfielder there's many good double pivots but there's not many players that can hold the ball up, has the ability to go counter has the playmaking ability and vision to help the attack as well as winning the fouls like Jack can. Jack is a fantastic player Pep for whatever reason has him on a leash something he hasn't done with Doku despite that he still performs you set Jack free then you've got a quality player on your hands. I would be more then happy for this as our starting lineup with a fully fit squad next season Martinez Dumfries. Konsa. Mings. Pau Kamara. Barkley Bailey Grealish McGinn(C). Watkins A bit of a tactical shift with Pau at LB but I reckon he would do well as a inverted full back effectively having two DMs with Barkley pushing even further up the pitch who let I remind you is only one assist off Dougie with the exact amount of non penalty goals for this season. Just need someone to step up on the penalties really there's some cracking set piece players even if you take out Dougie and Lucas from the squad.

Nobody talking about the fact that the top wage Villa can offer a player is around £150k. Of course Luiz is pushing for the move, Juventus are paying a goalkeeper £250k p/w. No doubt Luiz will be getting big money at Juve, something Villa cant offer any of our players in our current finacial position.

Every team sells players, even the so called big 6. It's about the bigger picture and working within the PSR rules. Obviously we'd love to keep Dougie as Rich says but a deal that brings in cash and 2 players one of which fits our player profile in terms of age and potential profitability will be a good move in my opinion.

I think we need to make the stadium bigger by making it higher and use the underground as a bar and restaurants
