We went to play at a local 4x4 park in South Africa and had some fun. Excuse all the power steering belt screeches . My hilux's pump is slowly seizing and the water is not helping 1989 hilux with a 1uz v8 and a short wheel bade pajero with a 1uz v8

just get a reciprocating saw and cut infront of all the mufflers, and after pulling out the back end with all the different mufflers. turn it over and it should be basically like a straight piped v8. but just muffler delete.

Most likely swapped with a different engine. We (in SA where it was filmed) mostly had 4Y engines in the hiluxes. The 1UZ was a popular engine conversion back when they were dirt cheap.

With the o2 sensor so far back in the exhaust system you're probably getting 3km/l in town hey..? And MUCH better at highway speeds... The ECU can not adjust timing and fuelling with an exhaust gas sample taken from so far away. the throttle position and load changes massively between gears. You will also see different airfuel ratios through the length of the pipe at different times...basically the ecu adjusts for conditions that have happened too long ago. MOVE that o2 sensor to the nearest place to the engine, as close to the collector.

That is definitely not a V6. That is a 4.0 L Lexus V8 1UZ-FE.

Ekt ook so bakkie en ek wil ook n V8 in bliksem...maar eks bang vir die petrol want eks nog n kind...die bakie gekry vir my 18de so enige raad oor wat ek aan hom kan doen...hy is klaar gelig en het all terain tires op met costom rims...en opi oomblik het hy n 2L straight 4 petrol in...hy het krag klink mooi...maar di V8 is vir my net awesome...maar eks net bang omdat hy so gelig is gaan hy om bliksem en die petrol storie ma ja....eenige raad sal awesome wees...en joune is fokken cool...sal graag myne ook so wil maak.
