This is a very informative video as I often contemplate doing an upgrade like this. You showed the motor comparison, the problems, taught me big potential issues to watch out for etc. I really appreciate this. Something that suprised me was watching this bandsaw cut. It appears to me that my old Sears craftsman 12" tilt head and my standard model 12" craftsman both cut better than the saw in the video does.

Simple mistake, hand wasnt fully lifted when you repositioned, causing the board to move the same direction as the saw blade, making it catch

We all learn from mistakes! Might I suggest making an apron that is lined with leather, about the thickness of a belt? I made the mistake you did... Unfortunately, it resulted in a few stitches and staples about 2 inches above the ol' Hammer 'N' Tool bag! Now I always wear my apron no matter if I only have 1 small cut to do!
