Taking the cargo trailer camper conversion to Maker Camp | Winter camping, makers, learning skills
After converting, I took the micro camper that was converted from a little U-Haul cargo car trailer to Maker Camp in the Catskills of New York. What an amazing trip! This is a highlight video of the drive and experience I had at Blackthorn Resort who hosted the event. I met @simonegiertz, @laurakampf and so many other inspiring makers.

Making a long furby for my daughter

Nothing says "I love you" like dismembering a cute toy for your daughter. Okay actually it wasn't my idea. My son and his girlfriend came up with it. I quickly found inspiration from @STRANGEONS . This is how we fixed the failed corrugated layer of our shuttle bus to make the windows sturdy and waterproof. Cardboard isn't something you expect to find in as a structural component of any vehicle. Hopefully this will show why it needs to be addressed and give you some ideas to fix it on your RV conversion build.

I think it has more to do with relaxing the threads, especially when you use steam and get them kind of wet and warm and lets them kind of expand and breathe a little bit taking the wrinkles out
It just needs a 3 uprights across each long edge to stop it rolling off the jack.

Since when did U-Haul start selling trailers? I was always told that they weren't for sale and this is how they could keep track of stolen trailers.
What if I put Ammonia in the spray bottle and directly sprayed them? Would that be safe? I’m trying to make the whole copper pipe to make it old… any suggestions?
It needs oxygen to oxidize the copper so applying directly doesn't work as well. You can mix baking soda and water to spray on and let dry. Heating with a torch afterwards will darken it more. Hope this helps!
@@JordanWorkshop Thank you for your reply! So wait.. you’re telling me that I don’t need Ammonia, just a baking soda and water to spray and wait until dry? If that’s the case then it make my life so much easier hehe 😉. I can do the torch to making it dark.

UHaul destroys their trailers. they never sell them. just making this video could lead to problems lol.

dude seriously, i just bought a 2002 e450 v10 triton, whole body is fiberglass and cardboard. I bought it from a guy who was turning it into a food truck, and he really f'd up the fiberglass around the windows and roof, but this just gave me an awesome idea to rip out all the cardboard and frame the windows back to shape with wood and layer some new fiberglass on the exterior!
Only problem I have is U-Haul does not sell these trailers. They are either stolen or used until no longer reparable and/or destroyed. I know this from first-hand experience from I company I worked for previously they bought one and had it taken from them by the police.

Looks good. I want to do something like that to match it with my 2007 jeep wrangler...but in California is really difficult to find one of this trailer. I`m like you, I`m collect a lot of material from other projects to use it in my next project. Enjoy your camper!

How long do you polish for? I’m at the polish step, but I cant get that matte look to go away now😩
It shouldn't take long. What type polishing compound are you using? Did you use rubbing compound or a high grit wet sand paper first?
I believe I didn’t use a compound😢 I think this is where I messed up. I went straight to Meguairs Scratch X Polish after using 3000 wet sand paper
I got the scratch out, but now I have the sanding scratches that I cant figure out how to get rid of

I drove one of these to PA from central NY. You were unable to drive over 50 mph. If you did the trailer would steer the car. U HAUL. Even told you to not exceed 50.
