I am curious about the shade fitting. It looks like you put a slip uno on a thread uno fitting. Did this work?

For my gkids I learned a long time some tricks, for the chaulk sharpen w/a pencil sharpener I paid $3-4 for 1 at walmart, the kind that sharpens kindergarden pencils(I call them that not sure it's the "proper" name) the pencils that are bigger around than regular pencils. Then when I want to write something that doesnt wipe off as easy (but still will wripe off) I put a little water in a lid & dip the tip of chaulk to dampen the tip.

Advice for all of you, see how white is the base coat? Simply using tape or even painters tape doesn’t always work out when applying a different color. So since she used white as a base coat, use white paint on top of the tape so whatever paint seeps through the tape, does. Wait like 5-10 minutes, then put your other color, or black like she did.

Why screw it to the old headboard first? It would have been much easier to make the new one first and THEN screw it to the old/legs. Also, without foam under the batting, this wouldn't be worth doing because it would be like resting against a tapestry on a wall. I can do that with much less time and money spent. I also have no interest in seeing the final product if I have to go somewhere else to see it. That's a bit sus to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ On the upside... This gives me ideas on how to improve it substantially while working smarter, not harder. So I guess thanks for that?

It was going well, even if I missed some foam to make the headboard soft, until you ask viewers to go to your blog to see the final product. I’m not doing that. What a trickster.

Why didn’t you put a piece of upholstery foam on the wood first? This would not be comfortable at all. You need foam under the batting. And why on earth did you put this on the filthy ground with no tarp under it? This is how NOT to upholster a headboard.
