I take that back, the Chain hand didnt pull enough slack out to pull the Chain all the way, the Lead Tongs were pulled in ad far as they could do. Blame the Chain Hand 😂. Its the Driller and Chain Hand ...... S**t Connection. Damn, How many of those connections ive made working my way uo from Motor Man to Driller 😮

Seasoned driller on the camera the guy running the rig wanted the video and he is the one that made the post referencing himself on the title. Six months earlier he had no idea what a drilling rig was. And here he is learning how to run one I am giving him hell because that’s what we do for all of you that criticize the oilfield guys sense of humor. We spend more time together then we do with out own family’s we are brothers and are only as good and fast and safe as the weakest guy so before you say something stupid step foot into my size 13 redwings I’ll go toe to toe on a rig floor of any kind or size with any self proclaimed roughnecks my daddy was a driller one of the best that’s for sure and I’m a roughneck for life too

So I’m holding the camera and my Derrick hand is the one saying he is worthless running the rig everyone of those guys started as my worms and everyone of them is a driller now so anyone that’s not understanding oh well

I used to work the rigs too. I really don’t see where that roughneck did anything wrong. It’s a little slower paced today. Maybe the way it should have been in the days I started. He’s learning the job properly.

Maybe if you pricks weren't trying to be tough man and instead actually trained people, you would get better outcomes. It seems to me that you are trying to make yourself look important and experienced by comparing yourself to an inexperienced hand. That doesn't make you look "experienced" or "tough", it makes you look like a 10-year old.

"Worthless" can be good-natured ribbing in this line of work (no way to know how he turned out after his rookie season or if he stuck with it)... This is normal in any oil field and all the associated services. I've never worked a floor and am too old for it now but the same kind of camaraderie exists in the rest of the industry, too. If he didn't cut it, he doesn't need to be on a floor, for it's not for everyone.

At least he's trying. He's probably gotten really good at it by now...or quite

To be honest, every crew I've seen that thought they were fast were actually the slower ones in the business. The good crews came onto a job, worked smoothly, and managed to stay in perfect sync the whole day with hardly a word between them.

Maybe I missed the part where it showed the worthless roughneck. Everyone there was doing their jobs, even the new guy. Everyone was new at one point.

Looks like tough work. Just needs more training and experience. He’s trying. I don’t even know what he’s doing wrong so I can’t judge. I’m sure there are people out there who don’t know how to partition a hard drive to reinstall Mac iOS in a MacBook. But I won’t call them worthless while they’re trying to get it working.
