I am enamoured by Mr. Sonny Fortune's hypnotized playing of the soprano saxophone. He is truly one of my top favorite Saxophone and Flute players. I love all of his sh**. 🏝 Rest In Paradise Mr. Fortune 🏝
I was not expecting mike clark actually to be there
Do you think Daryl still has this phone number?
Great tracks!. Great artist!
Muito lindo, parabéns!!! Emocionante!!
the dude be showing sign of autistic
The pianOracle so greatly thanks his past self for having saving this rendition under his favorites... "Oh, THANK YOU!!! Past self..." & of course, thank you guys for these amazing pieces!!! Actual Proof is most undoubtedly one of my favorite pieces of all time.
Amazing Daryl!
Nice ¡¡¡
wow,,,,,
One of the greatest indeed
If I had not watched the video I would have sworn I was listening to Eddy Gomez! Excellent performance! I hope after ten years you are still at it!
Yes he is still very much at it czcams.com/video/aRgJlYnlJCM/video.html
Damn, all tunes great, but really impressed by the last two the Shearing tune, that's a difficult head at that tempo and the Monk ballad at the end was really amazing the maturity in the soloing, plus in all track the great intonation, clarity and time feel.
Thanks Tee That’s my son Daryl He’s been playing Conception for years He’s now on Immanuel Wilkins two CD’s
@@stevejohns1135 Thanks for the reply I'm gonna check it out, all the best.
Hi Steve. I became acquainted with Daryl by listening to Immanuel Wilkins and became a total fan! Discovering all this earlier stuff is a delight. As a young musician I cannot help but be inspired by his music.
Precocious. Wonder where the young man is now?
Hi Itravail, Daryl is on one of New York Times 2022 Best Jazz Recording with Immanuel Wilkens Blue Note release 7th Hand and recently has been performing with Indie Rock Star Mac Demarco
@@stevejohns1135 Thanks for the reply. Shortly after wondering what the precocious kid is up to now, more recent videos started popping up in my YT feed. Thanks again for the update. I take it that he's related to you and that you're rightfully proud of the young man.
working with mac demarco
great great great
A great man a great musician - Sonny Fortune
Who would’ve guessed this guy would end up playing live with the Lemon Twigs and Mac Demarco
This drummer is so good! The bassist and pianist are also crazy, big up!
Geniale cromatismo esasperato .Bravissimo .Poi il passo successivo Don Cherry ! Così è la storia del jazz .Grazie from Italia .
I love Wallace’s tone, it’s always dark, super thick, concentrated, and juicy sounding. I don’t even care what he plays, it’s his tone that does it for me. Tragedy we lost him to a fucking virus.
Master performance
What's the reason why you are not posting anymore?
Daryl grew up czcams.com/video/aRgJlYnlJCM/video.html
Talent!
When I was in eleventh grade I played trombone. The band director wanted me to switch to double bass. Told him to forget it. Fifty years later, and I'm trying to learn to play the double bass. Who knew?😕

Is this the Lemon Twigs bassist?
Yes Nate

wow those bowed harmonics at the beginning are incredible.
WHERE IS THIS KID NOW
still playing music his latest project is Sweet Joseph (look it up on spotify) and he played bass with the lemon twigs on their last tour. he also played with Immanuel Wilkins.
@@barselino9877 TY FOR ANSWERING THIS KID IS A GOD
Just got signed with Mac DeMarco’s Record Label and has been touring with some other indie acts like The Lemon Twigs
saw him drum for mac demarco last night
Damn that old dude can sure play funky drums
He’s the drummer…. Off of the album that tune is from, “thrust” by Herbie, mike Clark is one of the innovators of linear drumming. Do a deep dive on mike Clark and Paul Jackson, thank me later
2:00 LaFaro would be proud of this solo
Damn. Pretty good, kid! But how do you play that thing without the end pin? Your bass is set way too low
wow, just wow.
THIS IS SO KILLING!!!
Here after watching his brilliant npr performance with immanuel wilkins. "The Dreamer" brought tears to my ears
🔥🔥🔥
Did you make it?
No
He was rejected because of a minor infractions from the last grammy band.
@@stevejohns1135 what was it?
Awesome melodic phasing and vocabulary, thanks for sharing

This kid is extremely good, but you can't really hear him! Need more mic on the bass.

Whats the very outro of Billies Bounce?

All I can say is. Wow !! Musical maturity that is so rare for boy his age . Keep playing young man .. You can make it to the top ! 👍🎸
Terrific band! Great playing by all. Very impressive young bass player and enjoyed all of the soloists. Drummer plays terrifically. Best wishes to all of you.
Oh sweet joesph!
Wonderful soprano saxophone moves with a touch of circular breathing...
