Another great video on the state of Minecraft. A lot of potential to still stay interesting and unique but probably hindered by cooperate processes. Minecraft is a cashflow asset to Microsoft, so they defiantly don't want to change to much because the mindset is to make it last as long as possible with as little work as possible. Great in some areas of business but I would argue not in the gaming business, as the community will get upset and ultimately stop playing the game.

A video on what popular mods looked like at their beginning vs what they look like now would be cool, like Twilight forest. (which is probably the most Iconic mod for Minecraft next to the Ather). MAYBE, one of the industrial mods like AE2 or Thermals could get up there.

Dimdoors was great. But fuck did it unsettle me as a kid.

Dimension mods are great because you can add all the content you want without having to worry about or mess with the vanilla stuff. Aether being a whole new tier of gameplay is a great example.

Does anyone remember that an older version of dimensional doors mod had the sky of the limbo full of shivering eyes instead of a singular large one?

My favorite dimension mod was The Midnight mod for 1.12. Late at night in your world, small rifts randomly open up in the overworld which the player can walk through to enter the dimension. It's sort of a dark and ethereal forest with unique materials and mobs, with biomes made up of neon colored foliage to contrast the darkness of the rest of the dimension. I think it's pretty unique and it's a shame it doesn't get talked about often

I remember loving all these mods! I wish I could play and enjoy the game like back then.

I used to thrive in the Aether... forever as a kid.

good video, but i have to disagree on the front of "minecraft builds don't look the same anymore" @ 6:15. at the end of the day, the game is a blank canvas. you can build whatever you want, and people have simply improved at the way they build over time. using such a large scale build next to one that can reasonably be traversed by a survival player is comparing two very different things.

You did forget about MystCraft, another legendary dimension mod.

Was wanting to see mystcraft on here. I always thought it was really unique allowing you to craft custom pocket dimensions for different purposes.

Ore Spawn is a fairly forgotten minecraft mod. I have no idea what happened to it I just remember it being one of the larger mods

Okay, so this may sound insane, but I remember a mod that spawned in ants, which when right clicked would spawn you in a new dimension depending on the ant you right clicked and I can't remember its name ;-; EDIT: I found the mod! Orespawn mod
