Nice! Have you considered trying vacuum distillation? Without air and other gases in the way, the distillation can be powered by easily created temperature differences, cooling down the condenser with cool water or evaporative cooling, and or just placing the boiler in the sun a sunny day, and the condenser in the shadow. Obviously the system needs to be closed, which means a collector for the condensate that also can stand vacuum is needed, but that can also double as a condenser.
That is a great idea! I hadn't considered for this implementation (though I was thinking about something along those lines for an AC unit). I may have to make another modification... Thanks for the tip, and for watching :)
Another great video! 😎 very cool!
Brilliant work. Really enjoying the series.
❤ the thumb nail
For the video
Awesome ! Hot showers ! Nice set up . 😎
Great video, and thanks for all the links you post; makes your videos a fantastic resource 👍
Respect for lugging all that kit out there!
Good effort, in the future I'm going to build a low output small scale water wheel to add to a solar system+batteries set up. The main advantage of those systems is they are great trickle charge feeders, and run 24/7, so it can add up.
You need a big axe as backup for the chain saw, not to go at crazy big trees, but the smaller stuff you can turn into firewood easily.
Hey just came across your channel mate. Where you at in our world mate?😅you should try and use Earth Batteries instead of store bought, in my opinion. Man I like your setup ‘camp that is. Thinking of doing the same thing.😊 i’ed like to see you use all natural items along with things you find, you know Aluminum, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium and so on. I was just thinking this way because your setup kinda like a homeless person would be. Well please comment back. I like to see your thoughts in writing. Good day mate.😊
Did he or she get into the tent?
I think it's a she! and yes she did, in fact I woke up one night with her sleeping by the fire!
What’s the weather like?
Is it all connected to the water source for electricity or do you use the solar panels?
The majority of the energy comes from the solar panels, my little water turbine only powers my refrigerator.
The forest is looking amazing, also is that a second tent?
So happy you got back on schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peltier modules are about 10% efficient. For comparison compressor refrigerators are over 100% efficient in moving heat. And you want the module to run on a constant current supply, not using a PWM.
It's true that Peltier modules are not that great (efficient), but it's working well for now. The problem with using a linear supply is that in order to provide the fixed current it would have to dissipate the remainder of the power / voltage as heat, so I decided to just PWM it directly. The other option would be to, buck convert and supply the module that way... maybe I'll have to try my hand at building my own compressor one of these days, thanks for watching!
@@TheOutlawPhilosopher yes, you'd need a DC-DC converter, or you can just use the PWM output, make/find an inductor and a diode and a 470 microfarad capacitor and make the drive part of a DC-DC convertor that way. You don't realy need a voltage feedback if you are monitoring the 2 temperatures and adjust the PWM acordingly. It's still PWM controll but the TEC only sees linear voltage that way.
Awesome buddy keep it up
Great video! It’s super cool to see how you managed to get all your stuff out there without road access😎 Thanks for sharing! Awesome info ☺️
Love your videos Ty!!!
Great informative video!!! Your company sinelabs will be so helpful to so many living off grid!! Wonderful job!! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you!
so... you're that scientist that went off the grid to find the cure for the zombie virus, before the zombies?... lol... just kidding... I don't know what you're working on, but looks like is more important for you than your own comfort... I do respect a man with a purpose!...
Haha! See look, no Zombies, It worked! You're welcome :). Thanks for watching.
Taking 'glamping' to a new level!
If you wanna impress you build it out of wood using hand tools, any schmuck can print the parts. True diy/survivor re uses discarded "junk" and or natural materials to make their "fridge" from. This is just a guy using a home/city tool in the bush for some reason. If there is more to the story you might have said so at the beginning of the video and not wasted time on a cad slide show. Yes 3d printing has it´s place but this video was presented as if it was a "bush craft" type of video.
I'm not sure how you call anything I watched bushcraft. With that being said I wish I understood how you did any of that black magic. I live off grid and wish I knew how to make a refrigerator. What is the power conception.
Don't give mink ideas. They will piss on anything, worse than cat pee. Related to wolverines, don't forget. And skunks.
Keep it coming!!
I was thinking the creek would make a good heat-sink for the hot-side of the TEC. Perhaps not a practical idea though. Nice video. It's great to see FreeCAD get some exposure.
Subscribed! Love the content, look forward to your current videos that you have out and future ones! Very interesting
Very good combination of technologies! Thank you!
you are living a dream. making awesome stuff and designing cool af things, while also doing the whole living in the woods thing. and the foss software thing
Refrigerator. No D.
Man you are living my dream! Bushcraft + tech tinkering!
finally CZcams suggested me something new and good... dude, you know FreeCAD better than your own build home. i use SolidWorks since 2008 and i cant design parts with such ease like you, i always get stuck... i use Anycubic resin, i still have 2y old resin and its doing great, no degradation of quality so far...
Beautiful waters
Idk if you've noticed in your drome shots around the mouth of the creek, what may be the remnants of a fish trap or clam garden, on the beach.
Interesting, you may be right, I have noticed some old cabling and - very corroded - metal boxes at low tide in that area. Maybe I'll have to investigate some more. Cheers!
Do post about that sound interesting
You’re like the Tony Stark of Bushcraft. Beyond cool to watch 👍
Haha! Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Oh wow Ty, that's great 👍.
Awesome!!! Super cool Bro! I’m still waiting for you to make the hot tub out there!!! I want to learn how to make one for the river here☺️👍
you need more subscriber!!! keep it going you will explode
Pardon the pun ,but very cool ! Fascinating .Awesome video !😎😎
Excellent video Tyler!!
You’re looking so much better how has the weather been?
The view is beautiful! The water near by looks so clear
Was great seeing you guys together!! Fantastic video, that was like finding a needle in a haystack 😜
Awe! My heart is full seeing the two of you❤Looks like you guys had a great time! Great job finding the drone!!!😀
Awesome video ! loved the scenery , background music , the drone search and the happy ending (finding the drone)😎
Glad you had a visitor! Hope you both had a lot of fun!
