We are going on Splendor March/April 25 on the New Zealand trip.
Thank you for watching! I donât doubt you will have a blast. We have some more splendor vlogs and tips coming up soon. âșïž
Great Video!
Thank you âșïž
Awesome, we have mostly sailed Princess out of Aus, but we did a Carnival Horizon cruise to the Caribbean
I still party too hard for Princess but I will be trying them next year. Carnival from the states is a must do for us too, most likely out of Galveston or New Orleans.
Why bother you making me depressed had 7 cruises since 2022 and this November the 22nd for 4 nites hope to meet you and family i did sign a pettition with adrian alsi donated hope sonething will get done Best part of the explorer is THE SUGAR BAR
Yeah I know, itâs sad and I had the brief âis it worth it?â Moment but there is still 9 months of sailings and two more for cruises for us so thatâs why I did it. The sugar bar looks amazing but I always skip it because of my dairy allergy. I do love that they always have at least one option I can have though. Thank you for signing, he has just had his federal petition pass today so Iâm going to promote that one now. We are doing 15th of November so we just miss you.
great review Ami. like your videos. Yes I would agree the food is nice in the waterfront . One of my favourites will be sadly missed.
Thank you. Iâm glad you are enjoying my videos so far. Explorer will be missed but thankfully it sounds like the restaurants are staying after they transition to Carnival.
@@CruiseCrazedFam oh really so waterfront is staying. Thatâs good news.
As far as we know so far yes. I recently did a video on the changes or changes that wonât be happening.

Have been watching heaps of your videos lately as my wife and I are going on our first ever cruise on Explorer next week! A couple of questions, the cruise is fully booked so will the restaurants and bars be constantly crowded? Also, i'm a night owl so what time do the bars normally close? Hopefully they are less crowded in the later hours. Thanks for all the informative videos and do you have any other quick tips for a first time cruiser?
Thank you for watching and glad to hear you are finding them helpful. As soon as you get onboard, switch to the ship wifi, log in to the app and book your restaurants straight away. Unsure how busy they will be but on our cruise they werenât too busy and we had incredible service. The Blue Room and the Explorer Hotel are great nighttime spots. They basically keep going as long as the crowd it there. I havenât made it to close so not sure if/what cut off time is. All I can say is go there with an open mind and get involved. Enjoy every moment. Your first cruise will always be a special one. đ«¶
Great review. We sailed on her last year (80s cruise), and this year we are taking our two grandsons so have booked the mini suite again. I don't think our boys will notice the rust (thank goodness) so it's a last hurrah for P&O from New Zealand for us :)
Thanks for watching! Mini suite would be ideal! Iâm excited to do the 80s cruise. We booked it when we heard she was being scrapped because we new it would be our last chance without having to fly.
You done a great review
Thank you! Iâm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the heads up. Have you ever done the Comedy themed cruise?
Thank you for watching! The one we did in February was a comedy cruise but it was so short we only made it to one show. The other one was also a comedy show but Allira got sick so we barely left the cabin at all. We have another one in December. Depending on the kids how many comedy shows we will make it to on that one.
@@CruiseCrazedFam Thanks for that .. looking forward to more reviews
We know how you feel.â€
Itâs been a week. Let me back on a ship!!!
I believe we may have been on the same cruiseđ
It was my 40th birthday cruise? I was wearing the sparkly pink hat embarkation day?
One question is kids club going to Change as they are changing the app and kids club is on the Carnival app, my son hated Carnival (9-11 yrs old ) but loved p&o( 10-13 yrs old ) they have different ages groups??? P&O felt more grown-up
Thanks for watching. I would assume they would change to Carnivalâs Camp Ocean. Itâs all guessing right now though. My son is 11 and hasnât got much interest in a lot of the activities but he loves making friends there.
Am back again lol to save some money and avoid hotel and taxi try the overnight train will be fun for the kids then u have breakfast in sydney and its only 4 stops and u in circular key what do u think will cost say600 dollars all up
I donât think my kids could sit still that long, haha: itâs a great idea though. Worth looking into.
@CruiseCrazedFam Ur kids will crush after 10 or they will be busy with ipad however u can always give it a go
@@victorkhalil1050 will look into it. Thank you
Hi I mentioned what u said abt catching boat from sydney specially for people in melb or Adelaide coz I done it k last year and Äșike what u said spending almost 2000$ before u get on Am doing it again this 25 august lucky I managed to book at Ibis darling harbour for 165$ thru travelzoo try them U doing a great job
Thank you for watching. Thatâs a great price. Iâve never heard of travel zoo, I might look into it. We generally stay near the airport at the Stamford plaza for around $250 rather than paying over $500 near circular Quay. It saves us money but it really is the flights x 4 that gets us.
@CruiseCrazedFam watch my follow up msg detailing how u can cut Ur travel to syd by more than half travelzoo is lot bigger than Ur average travel company it may be bigger than flight center I think but read google info abt them good luck
Same as costa ships COSTAMORE ???
Thanks for watching. With the lack of competition itâs quite likely.
Hello, thank you for ur videos. I wanted to ask since this was a comedy cruise what was the schedule like plz â€
Thank you for watching! It was only a 2-day cruise so we didnât get too many chances to watch the comedy shows so I canât remember exactly but we did see an evening show on the first night but we decided to go to the Gatsby party the second night so I canât remember what the comedy schedule was. We have another one in December so I will make sure I pay more attention to it.
Thank you đ
Any idea what works theyâre doing to her when she goes to Singapore?
I donât think they have announced that yet. So far all I know is the new blue paint job to match the rest of the fleet and general maintenance. Iâm keen to see what changes are made too.
Hopefully remove the pink donuts lol đ will look great with the blue paint job
@@crawf1993ify the pink donuts have grown on me⊠haha

Haha - life in WA we always have to fly to jump on a carnival / P&O or princess. Very little docks in Perth since covid
Yeah itâs bad enough here, I really feel for you guys in Perth. Unfortunately you have little to no cruise options locally.
Will Carnival still service the Pacific destinations like what P&O had?
Thanks for watching. At this stage, apart from the weeks of dry dock for changes in March and the cancellation of Pacific Explorer, the itineraries are unchanged. Carnival and P&O generally do similar itineraries anyway.
My partner and I and our daughter are going on our first cruise on the 4th of July on the splendor' we can't wait your video has been very informative thank you very much.

I think Americans have enough cruises to chose from. I reckon they will eventually change it all to everything Carnival and totally wipe out all P&O aspects of cruises
I agree, they definitely do. Possibly they will but it wonât be until the next dry dock which would be at least 3 years from now I would say. I think they will see how it goes as is first.
Hi Ami first time I watched Ur video keep up the pressure to force them to have a ship service us the poor melbournian, Question WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO P&O PLAYERS CLUB thanks
Thank you for watching! Yes, I believe we need to keep the conversation happening to try to push change and make it happen. Great question. I personally donât know much about the players club but Carnival have their own one so I guess you will start again on their ships. Will be worth looking into though for sure.

We were booked on the Elvis cruise with P&O out of Sydney next March. They are still doing the cruise but taking away the Elvis part of it. So just a normal cruise.đąđą
I did hear that! I could imagine how shattering that would have been for many of you since most would have booked for the âElvisâ theme. I guess they wanted to change it to a farewell cruise since itâs the last sailing. đ€·đ»ââïž
Sounds like what they are doing the same as they did with the costa ships
Sounds like even less. Itâs a shame, we donât have a single purpose made for Carnival Ship. Splendor is the closest but even she was originally made for Costa.
will the prices go up.
Thanks for watching. They say they will remain the same but letâs face it, there wonât be competition and when thereâs no competition prices generally do rise.
Of course they closed P O down because it was to expensive to run the ship's they're all about the money not the customer's just the money
The operating cost argument is not all that it seems. Carnival and P&O operate in the same market sector so, how can one afford to operate but not the other? Why not sell P&O? Why are we allowing ourselves to be screwed over by an American conglomerate?
Thank you for watching. If you think about it, P&O need their own call centre, management and training teams, branding and marketing. Carnival taking over them eliminates all those costs. Most likely it will probably also cost jobs within Australia too. Itâs a loss for Australia in that aspect for sure.
Smashing it with the videos these last two weeks mate. Great work.
Thank you! Late night videos after workâŠ đ„Ž Been so much happening in Aussie cruising though! đ«š
@CruiseCrazedFam Yep. Certainly a lot happening.
So look like no more going under the Sydney harbour bridge
@@petercerjanec6051 I don't this that will change, they altered the ship especially so they will keep that the same so that they can use White Bay I would say.

Such a great video - thank you!! A question around allergies, we have booked set dining so we don't have to go through the whole list every night, you mentioned the Dr Seuss Breakfast - were they able to prepare allergy free options for that ? I'll need to watch your other videos to find out about the pancake incident!!
Thank you for watching! Yes, they can cater for allergies at the Dr suess breakfast. Silly me edited out the pancake incident. Basically first time we went they catered to our allergies well and still made the effort to âjazz upâ the food to theme. Second time they bought us rubber-like gluten free bread and pancakes. They were gross. My son had a meltdown about itâŠ. Wasnât fun. But, you have done the right thing, fixed time so you have the same waiter. Each night you will pre-order dinner and breakfast and generally they cater pretty well, itâs just hit and miss depending on whoâs working. My last cruise was on the Luminosa and I had no issues. I also like to make sure I call or email so they know in advance too.
What about Holland America?
Thank you for watching. I forgot about Holland America! I thought we were missing a cruise line. I also didnât include Disney. Iâm unsure about changes to their itineraries.
Awesome insight Ami thank you
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
You have a picture of Vladimir my faviourite Bar tender

Looks like a good ship for families with children
Thanks for watching! Honestly, itâs great fun for all but plenty to keep the kids entertained for sure. I have sailed with Carnival without kids twice and had so much fun⊠but adult fun. đžđđ» Either way they are great.đłïž
P&O always did my low sodium diet well the had it down to a tee and I will be on Luminosa in October this year
Thanks for watching. Thatâs great to hear. Come to think of it, I was on Luminosa in March and they were pretty good with my allergies. I donât remember having any issues on there with the food, in fact I really enjoyed the food. Might be harder for you at the buffet since most of the food will be high sodium. When you go to the buffet, look for the stand that says âmenu mateâ and theyâll help you out.
Thank you for your informative video . Yes it is sad to see P&O leave us. Unfortunately the pandemic has changed a lot of things for us all. I donât believe the prices are too expensive as yet but will wait and see what happens. You are right demand will drive the prices up. I last went on the pacific explorer in feb this year and it is very old and you can see the wear and tear on it. So Iâm not sad to see it retire. Carnival, royal carribean , princess we need you all here in Australia we love youâ€
Thank you for watching! I agree, there are still some good deals but they arenât as cheap as they were post pandemic. I was on the Pacific Explorer in February too and noticed the same. I mentioned the state of the ship with some videos on my video about the Carnival takeover. She has seen her days. Definitely CCL, RCCL & Princess all have a solid place here in Australia.
Ambassador is a perfect fit for Pacific Explorer. Iâve given up on cruising. Not the same anymore. I canât justify the prices being charged. Iâm so grateful I did Alaska last year as itâs sooo expensive now. Cruising is expensive everywhere and just not here. I constantly look for deals but they are few and far between. We need MSC as much as people hate them.
I donât know too much about Ambassador, but from what I have seen they didnât change Pacific Dawn much so I think she would slot in nicely with the fleet. I havenât given up yet, we certainly canât find deals like we got last year but unfortunately thatâs because the demand is driving it up. Some cruise lines seem to be taking the Mickey with their pricing though. For us as a family of 4 itâs still cheaper than a land holiday.
Great video Ami! So comprehensive.

@@crawf1993ify make sure you come say hi if you see me. đ
Hi, love your video very informative. You are 100 percent correct Princess is not a family oriented ship. I was one of the younger ones and Iâm in my 50s đ. As long as children are happy to do the kids clubs though, they will have a ball. They will get lots of attention as they are not lots of kids. Tbh there were very few kids on my princess summer cruise last year , however the kids onboard were so lovely and so well behaved, probably better behaved then some adults. Btw since recording your video Iâm afraid the cruise industry in Australia is worse than I thought. Unfortunately due to the loss of the explorer, the 50 percent cut back of princess , the cancelling of virgin and all the other lines, itâs looking bleak for Australia. In the next 12 to 24 months the cruising capacity here will be reduced by 40 percent. Iâm just gutted.đź
Thank you for watching!!! Our Princess cruise is only 2 days reposition so there should be minimal time for them to get bored. I agree that often the children can be better behaved than adults. I have seen the same information about the loss of 40% capacity and itâs shattering. I really hope CLIA can work with the government to start attracting ships again rather than pricing them out. It is looking dire.
Thanks for your info.
Youâre welcome! I just saw you are from Melbourne too? Such a sad situation for Melbourne cruisers right now. đ
@@CruiseCrazedFam It is but here is hoping that Station Pioer can get their act together and Carnival keeps some of the themed cruises... could we collaborate at some point?
@@THEDOWNUNDERCRUISERS they had better! It makes no sense. I guess they donât see the cruise/tourism income potential. Apparently CLIA help to point them in the right direction. Apparently Australia has lost 40% of our cruise capacity recently. đ©

So sad we did our first cruises on p&o. Just did our 8th on princess and it's definitely full of older passengers we actually had people ask us why we're on the ship lol and we are in our 50s.we did have a good time though.
Haha, thatâs so funny. My parents are Princess fans and after I dropped them off for their last cruise dad text me and said they were the youngest ones there and they are early 60s. đ With P&O ending itâs definitely end of an era. đą
