My voice lacks masculinity; it can be too high pitched. But even worse than that - it's nasally. When I hear myself in recordings I'm often perturbed by how adolescent I sound. I wouldn't even respect or take seriously a man who sounds like me! I've managed to get bigger and stronger thanks to a couple of years of relentless weight lifting - so my masculinity's improved on that front, prayer and humility has brought with it a certain equanimity and stoicism that I think is worthwhile (though it's important to stress that one doesn't pray for the purpose of self improvement, but rather to render unto God what He's owed and be open to a relationship with the Almighty) - now I'd like to develop the voice carried by the sort of man I aspire to be. Has anyone else noticed how much their voice changes when speaking a different language? In English (my native tongue) - it's not great but it's alright. However in French, my voice lacks any semblance of authority or gravitas. I've recently found myself courting a french speaking woman and boy oh boy is it made much harder by how meek and impotent my French speaking voice sounds!

I used to do things with EQ. But the Multiband compressor is where it's at. Still learning and tweaking. Thats why I came to your video and noticed right away that your settings are a lot more suddle then mine. So I might have overdone it. I am using a Shure SM7B with a scarlett interface. So the hardware is actually really good. Just I need to a better feel when I am overdoing it. And how to still get the best sound out.

Thank you! I am a meteorologist on radio and internet, serving about 200 stations. We fall into the "announcer" trap all the time. There are many AI "weather casters" out there now. Quite a few of our affiliates have ditched them, in favor of us. We sound 'real' and conversational.

Very interesting presentation. Just wondering wouldn't AI voices or other speech software be more feasible than hiring multiple narrators? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the same?
