The pyramids of Egypt remain difficult to study because the documentation for them is inconsistent and incomplete. Many brave explorers sacrificed much to gather data hundreds of years ago, but the modern research is not so selfless.
This video examines studies conducted on pyramids with modern technology and highlights the problem of for-profit enterprises claiming our common cultural heritage.

Great watch. Fascinating stuff, and I love to see a "here's what we can conclusively say, and let's wait for more evidence for the rest" approach. Thought I might add my 2 cents as well :) Perhaps the ventillation was simply for VIPs (tending religous figures, family members etc..), Occam's razor and all that. If was getting a Pyramid made (and was spiritual) I would make sure the very important holy figure tending to my spirit was kept comfortable to properly be able to carry out their duties. I would also want any VIPs visiting me (at or after committal) to be comfortable also. Might even want some ventilation myself if I knew the underworld to be warm!

Nobody can recreate it today and "science" has no clue about the purpose of the pyramids. There are some great theories though already tested working.
Hawass and Lehner were ignorant clowns and possibly criminal. It staggers me that such a rich and amazing heritage is being so maltreated. If I were in a position of power in the Egyptian government, I would close the pyramids to the public for 2-4 weeks every year, then invite every major credentialed academic institution on the planet to bring a whole posse of scientists and researchers with as much tech as they could assemble. They would have unrestricted access to all areas of the Giza plateau (and other monumental sites) on two conditions: 1) No damage of any kind, whether deliberate or accidental, would be tolerated, under penalty of immediate exclusion from all sites. 2) All data, conclusions, results, conjecture etc. must be shared, not only with the other institutions taking part, but with the whole world by means of every media at their disposal. Maybe then we'd get a bit further in our understanding of how and why the ancients went to such enormous lengths to build things that would last for millenia. What? I can dream can't I?
Amazing presentation but in the showing of how the blocks were moved, shouldn't there be more than 4 dudes doing it? I truly dont know how 4 dudes picked up a rock heavier than a modern sedan and moved it anywhere unless they were 7 ft tall or more.
Why do so many cover stones protrude too far? It looks like an upside-down staircase in places. (8:50) They can't have shifted. And given the precision of the pyramid as a whole, I don't think it's a bad job either.

I have always thought they were for ventilation. The workers building the pyramid would need fresh air in there, especially given that they were using oil lamps for lighting. Maybe not the guys doing the heavy construction, like setting the ceiling blocks, but certainly the guys doing the decorating would need fresh air, and perhaps their materials would as well.

I have no words sufficient to thank you for this incredible work you are doing. I am near 70 years old and have spent much of that time wondering where the application of methodical study has gone missing concerning the construction of the pyramids. You are doing the hard work, and most often that is how great discoveries are made.

Given any failures causing such a fundamental design change would have worsened with any extra load, regardless of its size/ shape/ mass , and therefore any change of pitch becomes irrellevant. Looks like the Queen's chamber was intended to be the main chamber but the person calling the shots didn't like it and demanded it be done bigger and better. So, that chamber was blocked off and the new chamber was built. That's probably why the channels weren't finished either.

The Grand Gallery housed a mechanism to force the stones that were found in the passage below down into it so as to equalize the air pressure in side the chamber as the waters stacked up above the pyramid during the great flood. duh.

Watch an Original copy of the 1981 Movie " SPHINX " You will see shots of the Great Pyramid from inside, that I have never seen anywhere else... The passages along between the outer and inner first layers of blocks... Other passages inside that are no longer accessible and even covered well enough to not notice any more, etc.. I would like to hear your thoughts... Also, these were not shots from a set, they used the Pyramid and more... There is so much that is kept from us... and the US Government pays a ridiculous amount for control of a part of the Plateau and much more... Dig into that, it will help you accept the Truth of what is in and under the Plateau...
