johnny marr. absolutely
Noel's extended version at Earl's Court is something that will never be forgotten, but Mike Moore Liam's lead guitarist is there with the best,
Paul Weller's original solo adapted by Noel live circa 1998 will always be best, but every time I listen to this it's Gem's passionate, soulful, and dreamy solo that stands out more. Simple, low key, and better than Squire and Marr
Would love to hear what Steve Cradock would do x
noel the best. ever
Imo it goes Johnny, because he jst takes it to another level with his playing/ It feels like there's 3 parts in the solo, and then THAT ENDING GOD. I think noel takes second place, I mean using the WAH effects and u can just feel the soul of the song in his solo, and if u haven't go watch Budokan 1998. Noel just takes it to a whole level. Squires was godly as well, u can tell he loves his blues and rock its cool but even John said he ddn't like his performance. He said he was to egotistical with the solo as well, and he did it way better with Liam Knebworth show.
guys I changed my mind noel made that guitar sing
Are you really putting Noel Gallagher up with John Squire in the guitar world? Man that looked like Noel was struggling to even bend a string!
Steve craddock also played it
ok i wanna hear a lot more johnny marr face melters like that one, holy shit.
The first 1...Noel by a country mile.
Noel’s is comfortably the best……and I wasn’t expecting to say that!
Theyre all great. Theyre just giving out their best it depends on how they play the song like the ones in earls court where noel is just doing loop sound could be better but it works.. They know their sound. Its not fair to call them shite or crap and they damn well know that they respected each others too.
The Johnies have it by a Marrgin
Gotta be Noel, Johnny Marr. I actually that Weller n Squires efforts were piss poor, but each to their own
Is Liam having some sort of tantrum?
Noel and his digital delay3 are unbeaten
Noel, all the way for me, as it sound more like the record to me, The other guitarists here are fantastic in there own right, but it’s just too different for me, they’re are not copycat style players and they do they’re own thing, which I totally respect.
Noel 100%
Too hard, all bring something different.
Noel's one is fooking guuud
Noel @ earls court is the best live solo! czcams.com/video/6-xNhhd4cdU/video.html
Holy shit, Tim's was like a Grade 1 guitar lesson...atrocious 😅
Should've used the budokan 98 gig for noel
Jonny Marr ! But Tim Smiths clean vibrant notes sound great
JOHNNY Fuckin MARR.
Jonny for me all day
Johnny marr and John Squire sound pretty similar. Sorry, but noel is shite whether he wrote the song or not......don't know wtf the last one was, but it was also terrible. Only my humble opinion ofc but I prefer Mr squire....
Johnny Marr senza nemmeno discutere
Gem and Noel.,..❤ solo
Not a Smiths fan but Marr wins easy out of that compilation... Guess I may be slightly bias given I was like 3 from the front row at that gig 😛
Noel 👍
where did Gem get pretty Green Tshirt from? Thought Pretty Green was after Oasis, ?????? Baffled
i'da hand it noel 100% if it wasn't for squire @ knebworth 2022
No one beats Weller's original
We all slag off Noel for his repetitive playing but holy shit his vibrato is top notch
Sorry, it's a clear landslide for Johnny Marr. It's not even close. Noel's was good but Johnny's was phenomenal.
Easily Johnny Fucking Marr
Johnny Marr, who knew?!! Noel obviously is the soul of that song so when he plays it’s amazing. The least inspiring effort was Squire. I expect more from him, his was quite shoddy and added nothing to the song.
1. Noel 2. Marr 3. Gem 4. Squire 5. Smith
Marr. Johnny Marr.
Marr Archer Gallagher Squire Smith
Noel for me. Probably because he knows it so well. Then Johnny Marr. Technically obviously Johnny Marr & Squire are on another level But what fits fits & Noel knocked it out the park.
While Noel’s is best, Johnny F’in Marr stands equally beside him.
Johnny Marr. Hands down.
The best version is oasis at earls court in 95.
Soloing is not exactly a Johnny's best feature, so Noel beats every and each one on this comparison. His solo is easily superior, melodicaly, timbre, storytelling, everything. Fantastic Noel.
Great video. Answer? Paul Weller.
Ah man Noel ! For someone who not a great guitarist he has wrote so many great solos than despite Marr and Squires superiority technically sound no better than Noel’s version. Long live the king 😎
Well...I take a young Noel full of piss and vinegar over all of them, but he is also the only one who fucks the song up when he sings it. What makes this song is Liam having an argument with the microphone.
The real winner is Paul Weller.. ;-)
