Continuous Line Drawing of a Still Life
One way to improve hand-eye coordination and observation skills is by practising continuous line drawing. It challenges artists to keep their hands stable while drawing spontaneously. In this video, we will draw a still life using just one line. Anyone can do it. All you need is a pencil or pen and paper. Don't overthink it and embrace imperfections.

Informative😊
My first dip pen was a really battered old one covered in dried up ink from my grandfather that somehow ended up with my mom’s art supplies and then I “borrowed it” to try it. I gave up pretty quickly when it didn’t work properly😂 then we moved house after a few years and it turned up again while we were unpacking. Thought I’d give it another go but this time, I soaked it in rubbing alcohol for days and cleaned it until it looked brand new! I also bought myself some acrylic ink because my mom’s inks had gone bad. I still use it even now. It’s honestly one of my favourite nibs and definitely my favourite nib holder! The nib has a little bit of flex but is a lot stiffer than the rest of my nibs so it’s great for fine details and shakey hand days where I need to put more pressure to avoid wobbly lines 😂❤️
amazing video!! much love from brazil 🇧🇷🫶 thank you so much for sharing this 🥰 will come back to support you! ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっglad i found your channel!! it’s relaxing in a cozy way :)
Thanks for your support 🙌

This is really helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Gorgeous. You make it look so easy. My favorite flowers are peonies. I like the scent and the way they make a room look more elegant.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, peonies are an elegant flower, one of my favourites too.
Hi pri. You are pri and I am shri. I like your easy way to get into learn to draw. Its a flashback of my own memory. When I learnt to draw.I used to make those two circles into baby chick's..and colour them in yellow. Anyway whatever ways you doing is a good start. When you drawing always have a model. A coloured picture animals. Look at the the shapes. Lights are very important and the shadows of course. Buy coloured 🖊 and coloured your pictures. You have to feed your brain with beauty remember colour is power. Try it and see how you feel. Draw everyday and colour them. Your art will grow like a big strong tree 🌳. With lots branches and fruits. Tell me how you feel about my suggestions. I did all my drawings with coloured pencils. Try water colour. You will love it. One more thing. Draw everyday something small and colour them fast. Good luck. Cheers ❤.
Thanks for you suggestions!
Awesome! I've just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for sharing your creativity!

Wonderful. Thank you
And you get to choose your ink with dip pens. I use Higgins India ink because it’s waterproof and dark. Way better than Speedball
Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to try it.
This is gorgeous
Thanks!
I have a large collection of sketch books presented by my friends.
Good gift to have!

This was a very enjoyable video and I do believe I will give a go to that bird!!!
I am sure it will be amazing!
Hi Pri, Thanks for the video. I've just come across your channel. I really enjoyed giving your tutorial a go and realised I enjoy doing bird sketches. The tips you were giving were very helpful. I'll definitely be checking out your other videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much for your feeback and I will keep the art tutorials coming.
I was wondering if drawing the tail behind the twig would have added to the 3 dimensionality
You know, that's a great idea! Thanks.
I love using dip pens, it helps me draw more loosely, I like to add watercolor afterwards, what paper would you recomend for this. thank you
I would recomend smooth bristol paper or hot press watercolour paper. They both work well with dip pens. :)
Harika, nüanslı çizimleri daha çok tercih ediyorum.
Underrated alert‼️‼️‼️‼️
Very nice ❤
Nice❤
Sweet little bird. Thanks for the tips I’m glad your video showed up on my feed. I subscribed. I have been wanting to try ink and wash.
Thanks for the sub and glad you liked it.
Dip pen need hard work fountain pen is best
Dip pens are more challenging to work with. For me, I guess that's part of the charm.
Fountain pen ink is not typically waterproof.
@@drawingwithpriSame!
You can try glass dip pens that are less complicated
Flowers & colors are my krptonite🫣 u draw flowers so WELL
Glad u explaining this because my drawing lacking , lots of work to do
Thanks for your comments. I am glad my videos are helping you <3
I loved this tutorial and am inspired to try using ink.
I'm sure you will love it!
Super Mam👌
Glad you liked it.
That's pretty cool
Hello, I've just got back into using dip pens after years of mainly using digital art. Thank you so much for the very helpful video!
I used to primarly be a digital artist too. Its good to get back to the traditional stuff.
Where did u get the bag?
I actually wouldn't recoment the bag. I think you'd need a bag with more structure. Look for an artists bag. I am looking to replace mine soon as well.
Very informative video! I found it super helpful! 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
Question for you: I have W&N Indian Ink, does the ink ever get too think or dry out too much, how do you manage this?
I find that if my ink has dried it's probably because I did not screw on the cap properly. Or the cap was full with dried ink and did not close properly - try giving your cap a rise sometimes. Other than that, ink has a shelf life as well, if left unused, it gets thick and gunky.
❤
Didn't catch it if you mentioned in the video, but did you use references? What's your opinion on working from memory? I like how you set a challenge for yourself but kept it interesting to you, I think artists of all kinds need to be reminded you can still have fun while learning/practicing/etc. Also, everything on youtube is geared like 'these tips for best results for that,' so a simple runthrough of just how another person practices is refereshing. I enjoyed those colored hands near the end of the first book, monochrome renders of ppl are always cool! Especially that last one with liquid... But I also love the coffee tone book, the simplified black and white with that tone of background is really visually striking!
I did use references, I covered the references sources in my blog. drawingwithpri.art/blogs/blog/100-hands-challenge I think drawing from memory takes significant time and growth. We need to build our visual libraries before we can rely on our memories alone.
Awesome video. Excellent practical advice. Thanks
Very welcome! Thanks.
I don’t draw but I use dip pens when I write. I use a Pilot iro-utsushi dip pen with a medium writing nib. I don’t know why but it’s just hilariously fun to write with a dip pen. 🤣😁
I love the varition in line weight!
I’m glad you popped up! Great information! New subscriber!
Welcome... and Thank you.
Thanks for the great samples.
I like both drawings, each has it's own emotion.
Thank you for all the useful information!
