    Getting sea sick just watching the horizon rolling side to side. BUILD CATAMARANS and stop the madness. It is like you are stuck in some old man time machine. The market has moved on. You are like a car company making sedans and convertibles when the entire market has changed to SUVs and pickup trucks. Fire your CEO and hire someone half his age.

  • @Coleen_West
    @Coleen_West Před 3 měsíci

    ...I would have wanted that 10 years ago. But, to be honest, people are looking at Catamarans. I can't think of one person wanting an old style "mono hull" boat. They just don't want this..sure, you may sell 12 of them or, in four years maybe even 22. But Catamaran demand is so high no company can keep up with orders. Here is a suggestion.. make a proper world cruising catamaran and see which you sell more of.

    one other point, this is NOT the only boom furling system around, my Duncanson 29'6" has this, but here you MUST dismount the vang tackle, and roll the boom itself (the Topping lift/mainsheet are on a metal bracket which bolts onto the boom), a ratchet being used on the other side of the mast from the boom; furling this is easy, just use the "slab" method,: vang off, sheet off, topping lift ON, halyard lowered, tack reef 1/2/3 eyelet onto hook on tack shackle, halyard tight, then tension reefing line 1/2/3 with on-boom winch/cleats; topping lift off, vang and sheet back on; then tie off the slabbed sail onto the boom. easy, and YES you can do this at sea, you just don't use the rolling boom for it, slab instead!, and we use the boom furling to pack up the sail, this gives us use of the vang, even when reefed.

      @@XYachtsGreatBritain on the drawings and pictures on the x yachts website it looks much more like a (very comfortable but still) v-birth rather than a rectangular island berths you see in most new yachts. I’m a big x yacht fan but find it interesting that the new 47 cruiser has v-birth while for example the 4.6 has a rectangular island bed. Interesting design choice

    • @XYachtsGreatBritain
      @XYachtsGreatBritain Před 11 měsíci

      I agree that we are lacking online detail at this time, but hope you will soon see after the photo shoot that the owners berth is very large, larger than we have previously designed. Possibly less "island" than before, but on a Bluewater capable yacht we imagine clients sleeping in this cabin while under way, and this will be safer and more comfortable. Please contact us directly by email and we can share a drawing comparing to our other X models.

    • @XYachtsGreatBritain
      @XYachtsGreatBritain Před rokem

      In my experience the sail should be de-powered for a good reef to be set - coming up slightly until the main luffs with a very eased sheet is fine. During build, a fillet of Sika 221 along the rudder stock/rudder blade join line is applied. The integrity of this fillet seal should be inspected on a regular basis and renewed as necessary. We recommend usage of Sika 221 or similar polyurethane based sealant, to be renewed at least once every 3 years. This is to avoid water ingress. Julien Renault
