Labor Day weekend at the claims. Two trees came down across the roads, over the last short storms that blew through.
I took a short walk across my claims and talked about the “Lost gold drifts” story. I may have found them?
I got to play in the creek a little, but water flow is way down and makes things a little more challenging. Still, a very fun weekend!

2024 Season opener! The first visit to the claims for the season. Lots of trees down and some damage to the claims camping and staging area. This trip was mostly doing chores, cleaning up trash from stupid bears trying to get into everything, and cutting up downed trees and branches from the road. In this video, I get the water pump working a lot better than before. Still not as much flow as I’d like to see, but with some minor adjustments and tweaks, I believe I can get it to work. A day of fishing also turned into a day of exploration. During our exploration, we noticed heavy, black sand deposits along the riverbanks. These are all likely flood gold deposits from recent storms. Hello Bob, I think this is your name? great vid of the event. I saw you, you were right next to me just over the bush, I was up steam of you & saw you filming, I was the one panning, sitting on that big boulder. I was going to go over where you were before you got there, but I decided to stay where I was because I was finding some good flood gold, a couple of good size flakes. I can't believe you didn't find more gold from the spot that you were at. That spot looked great & I would have got pretty excited about it if I saw that, w/ the little creek coming in, there has to be some good gold there. I appreciate you reclamating the area, I too reclamate after I finish a hole, it's a good thing, us miners do our part in keeping the wilderness looking good & taking out lead & metals from the river should be praised.
