Giving people peace of mind, protecting them and their family as well as their wallets and giving them the satisfaction that their car is going to be right once it leaves. When a car comes in and it’s not doing so hot and you can send it out feeling like a new car, or that feeling you get when you get someone’s car running again. Wouldn’t trade it for the world.

This is my advice.. dont be an auto tech... The price for tools + experience & skill to make a decent amount...if you were to pit that effort in a different career youill get waaay better a head in life... Automotive career is b.s nowdays... you swap a complete engine, refill anf test drive for everything & you get paid same amount a plumber make for changing a shower head../ electrician installing a switch board.

Man, I'm brazilian and I have an interest in cars, I have some money saved, do you think I should pay for an automotive mechanics course (an in-person/classroom course) or buy an old car to work on small deliveries services? Good advice here, but as a tech that left the field after being promoted to management: learn how to fucking read and don’t blame people for getting upset when you don’t/can’t follow instructions.

Stay away from the job you have to buy ur own tools and not annual pay rises at main dealer I quit and just tow them in now more money no stress and all equipment provided and annual pay rise was a tech for 15 years that 15 years of waisted time for low money buying tools you can never get back

Redwings are garbage. The nearly $300 made in America, all leather. First pair lasted 6 months, Redwing replaced them no charge. The next pair lasted 6 months. Once you work in the leather, they're comfy but couldn't make them last before the leather started going bad

Comes in to the shop broken. I apply my skills,tools and knowledge. The vehicle leaves repaired,fixed and more reliable that when it came in.

Find a place that treats you right if not you will hate coming in everyday . Been there done that.

Find another trade that won’t make you hate your life. You can make more in other trades with little investment in tools and far less grief. Glad I got out 30 years ago.

Don’t listen to some guy that not gonna be involved in your career,I went through it and I regret my choices,talk to a 30 year man or woman and see.

Don’t do it ,that profession will screw ya. Get on the government dole

Remember a toolbox has wheels. If one shop wont pay what your worth or treats you bad wheel that box to another shop.

Real advice: Ask them every commission time and pay before you start working (ask for it in writing,) stay away from the snap on truck, make sure the person who orders your parts if it isn’t you actually knows what the fuck they’re doing, and make sure to ask questions if you get stuck on something. Also don’t become a state inspector.

Best advice? Join a different trade. Work on cars as a hobby. Professionally? You're wasting your time.
