The Zucker Brothers made some of the funniest and most classic comedies ever... Top Secret, Airplane, The Naked Gun, The Kentucky Fried Movie, Hot Shots, Brain Donors, Rat Race, Baseketball. Jerry Zucker also directed the movie Ghost that the ladies love so much.

Loved this movie in its time and as a 10 year old. Can't wait for my kids to watch it with me!

i sound like a boomer but they don’t really make movies like this anymore! so many jokes in this just fly at you, and it’s on the audience to catch them. you never have a character go “Joke!” and then another character go “Did you just say ‘Joke!’?” like you do in a lot of modern movies, there’s zero whedonism quips, every single actor is playing it entirely straight and to acknowledge the absurdity of what happens around them would ruin the jokes. you have to pay attention to get anything out of the movie.

I'd completely forgotten about the gigantic submarine crashing through the wall. Not only hilarious, but think of the production that went into making that happen for an early 80s movie. No CGI or computer magic tricks. So much work for such a ridiculously funny sight gag. I did a review of this contrasted with other "funny" movies of today on my channel.
