I really do love this song. It's a nice combo of their slant on Emo along with some Shoegazey elements..... Girls and Chocolate are fun songs, sure....but they never did _that_ much for me. I definitely think they got better over time....and I mostly prefer their newer music. ABIIOR and NOACF are like modern White Albums...just brilliant. But old school stuff like this, or The City, or Falling For You, or Menswear, or Love Me....or, who am I kidding, ALL their stuff is excellent. Listing off individual songs feels silly.

I love the little vocal ad libs Matty often does.... Like around 2:27 where he goes *_"...fix my teeth and she's so american ah aaw..."_* There's something vaguely boy band-ish about that. :) I love all those little idiosyncratic flourishes they put into their music. Every song and lyric and performance is packed with winks and nods and hat tips and references and sonic easter eggs. :)
