Save me, Lord! The boys today can't imagine how frustrating it was to wait all that time. They were allowed to start playing after 8 minutes waiting.😆 And there was no guarantee you will play. I remember we always waited until Saturday. And many times it happened: The cassette was (maybe) dirty and couldn't be loaded. We started the whole process over again. For 10 minutes just loading, loading, loading. And it failed. After 3-4x fail we gave up and everyone went home. Some of us were so frustrated and angry that they didn't talk to the others at school for the next whole week. (He blamed the others.)🤣 Sentimental, isn't it? 😅 Thank you for uploading! Amazing! 😂

I miss this so much! I had the Light Fantastic version setup in my 'office', which was basically a corner in my bedroom. I still two Dot Matrix printers but I haven't managed to make them play with my PC.

Im minc blown. How does it work? The tape must flow only one way in the mechanism. No i ternal memory. HOW WAS IT POSSIBLE? where was menus stored and all the code waiting for user input? As far as i can tell, it was witchcraft and i must burn it with fire and wash the ashes with holy water

"Forbidden Forest" seemed to take HOURS to load from the Datasette...and that's IF it worked the first time!!

Honestly, the first 1:15 were completely avoidable.

Me and a friend were playing a game once in the living room and my mum unplugged the extension lead to plug the hoover in. She realised then tried to plug it back in thinking the game would still be there. Another long wait ahead.

You can load the game just by pressing play? I remember you’d have to type a load command first. Then again, I mostly had copied games, not originals.
