The update is a much better fix than the first option. Thank you. Excellent videos!
Hey @mythoughts1................1. Thanks for your thoughts *smiling*. I appreciate you taking the time to post.

Mine has a shit ton of sporadic air bubbles! Help!!’
Okay... challenge accepted ;-) Let's start by pulling the bottom check valve out of the soap container and put it into a container filled with water - see if the water coming out of the pump has any bubbles in it or if that stays a solid stream of water. It sounds like your pump is beginning to fail. Do you have another pump to try?
Yes I ordered another pump same deal.
@@bmanh2355 Okay... did you pull the whole hose with the bottom check valve out of the soap container and put it into a container filled with water - see if the water coming out of the pump has any bubbles in it or if that stays a solid stream of water.
Howdy Sir, thanks for the video and instructions. Did I need to put anything on either side of the hoses that snug up to the check valve (ie:clamp or silicon)? Thanks again.
Hi @Olmud, you are welcome. Because we are working on the suction side of things, there is no outward pressure trying to push apart our fittings and connections. More specifically as we push down the hand pump, we are actually creating suction in that hose which; pulls in on all the fittings and connections, pulls in the one-way check valve to draw the soap up. The short answer of my long explanation is; no, you do not need any hose clamps or silicon to hold the components together. Thanks for your question... be well.
I realize this is 4 yrs old... but great ideas and concise, dead-on instructions never go out of style... thx much for taking the time to publish this wonderful home owner tip!

could you use 3/4" poly ?
Yes, you could... but after saying that there would be some considerations like; will you be pulling cable as you assemble the pipe or after (after would be much harder), how much cable or how full will the poly be? Home Depot does carry the fittings in 3/4". Thanks for the question!
Great video. I have the same setup and could not find 3mm line. The line you used is a bit thicker than mine but after watching your video I'm confident it will work. Thanks!
Glad it helped. Thanks for the comment.

Nope,... not just you lol. Thank you for your kind words!
I actually did the hole job today that you did. Not difficult. Just take your time. I thot it was 100% chance of no leak. But it is leaking worse. When I shake the skimmer. It really leaks. Very odd 😞
@@thomaskiburis9934 Oh NO.... Yes, it's not really that hard. What kind of condition/how old is your liner? Was it rusty around your skimmer when you cut that part out?
I actually bought a Hayward replacement skimmer. Installed today. Came with a lot of parts. The gasket is single gasket. Raps around hole. I think I like that better. Maybe because it’s not leaking anymore. Lol. I think the old skimmer was happy in its home for the last 20 years. Couldn’t see any defect but kept leaking. Probably a slight imperfection. The new kit was $60. And came with May parts. Hayward SP1091LX Dyna-Skim Above-Ground Pool Skimmer Amazon.
@@thomaskiburis9934 Oh nice skimmer! Yes, I do like their single gasket style that wraps around inside the hole. That's freaking AWESOME it's not leaking anymore!!! Thanks for letting me share in the joy of no more leaking!!!
That screen provides a lot of resistance to the thick liquid soap. There's no dirt in the soap bottle so there's no need for a screen.
So what are you proposing?
@@commonsenseripsomehelpful Don't use the check valve with the screen. If you don't wish to cut the tube into two pieces just put the black plastic check valve, without the screen, on the end of the tube that's in the bottle of soap. The plastic check valve doesn't have to be at the midpoint of the tubing. If you do want to put the check valve at the midpoint of the tubing, you can just cut a v notch at the end of the tubing that goes into the bottle. That will obviate any concerns with the end of the tubing becoming attached to the bottom of the soap bottle by suction, blocking the flow.
@@percyfaith11 aaaAAH. I see. Thank you for your comment.
I have a similar problem with my 26 year old pool. This is a great way to repair my problem too. I might worry about the 'burrs' from the drill bit, getting down along the liner, but think you so much for the video. Even after all this time, you are still helping others. OK, later in the video I hear you are replacing the liner, so .....I am still working on this listening and patience thing.
Thanks @dialdude for your kind words and comment. Yes, I knew that we were going to have to replace the liner as it was old and discolored. After we removed the skimmer and then the beaded part of the liner from the top of the pool wall it was clear that we could have never stretched the liner back out to go around the skimmer in the previous holes because of how much it shrunk. I did use a lot of masking tape around the area where I was drilling to keep the filings and burrs from the drilling area captured as best as I could.
This is great, thank you for sharing! I bought a 200 ft line but after seeing your video, I think cutting it in half might be best, easier to work with. Thanks for the chuckles too.
Thank you for the kind comment! Glad that I could help.
No foam? 🧐
No foam... haven't figured that out yet ;-)
Good idea! The one-way check-valve at the end of the hose also keeps it from curling up or floating to the surface of the liquid (A problem I have frequently encountered.) (The only thing I would add is the quickest way to prime the dispenser: Push the dispenser down, plug the spout with your finger, release the dispenser so it pops up, and remove your finger. Repeat as needed.)
aaaaaAAAAAAH! I did not even think about holding the hose end! ...and great trick! Thanx for sharing!
Great idea and you are so smart. Thank you so much. I always struggle filling up the container. Take care.
Thank you. Hope this helps you switch to bigger and easier to use soap containers!
Thank you for the relay part number.

I was able to salvage two of the exact same heaters. What is the little black box you have screwed to the back side of the heater and could you send me a copy or link of the wiring diagram?
The little black box on the back side of the heater is the Aube RC840T Electric Heating Relay. It is used to connect the Nest Thermostat to the Marley Heater. There is no wiring diagram as I have had to research and reach out to licensed electricians to find out how to integrate the Aube RC480T Electric Heating Relay with the Marley MUH35C. Please refer to a professional electrician as this procedure involves dealing with 220 volts. Thank you for the comment and question.

@@nicksignorelli9041 Whatchya got? Model number, condition, pictures, price?
Where do you get one? What is the name?
Hi Patricia. Thanks for viewing and commenting. What specifically are you asking about the soap dispenser setup?
Thank you! Upgrade my kitchen sink soap dispenser with sontiy soap dispenser extension tube. The built-in check valve is much convenient.
You are welcome! Thank you for commenting.
I raised the big soap container as high as possible to shorten the hose length and it works fine... no need for long hose or valves. Keep it simple and as short as possible.
Hi Joe, Thank you for your comment. Yes, definitely is better to keep the supply tube as short as possible. The sink pumps are designed with a soap storage container where the pump tube stays inside the soap in the container, so when pumping stops, the soap actually stays inside the pump tube and when you need soap again, the soap is right there in the pump tube one or two pumps away. The problem, when wanting to move the soap dispenser to a larger container and to somewhere easier to access (further away from the actual pump just below the sink deck), is that the pump tube is no longer sitting in the soap reservoir with the soap right there, it is further away and after pumping stops, the soap creeps back down the hose, because of gravity, and the next time you want soap it will require more pumping to bring the soap back to the bottom of the pump tube. The one-way check valve stops the soap from creeping back down the hose and keeps it right at the pump one or two pumps away. Also, some soap pumps are just not strong enough to pump soap any further from just the bottom of the soap container under the sink deck. Saying that, I also acknowledge that some soap pumps actually have a one-way check valve built into them... sounds like you have one. ;-)
What’s the name of this pool
Hmmmmm... great question. I guess I could try to find the paperwork that came with it to find out the name of the pool, but could I ask why that would be of any importance? For example, what would that be in reference to?
Great video! Thank you very much!
You are welcome. Thank you for your kind comment.
I Love going on the pool is like the pool is not clean enough
you could use rivets and foam inside. also id recommend sealing the open edges with silicone between two metals.
Aaaaaa... Thank you for the helpful tips.
Hey! Enjoyed the video. Quick question…could you have used the same liner or would you have to replace it?
Hey David! Thank you for your kind comment and great question! Yes, someone could use the same liner as long as the liner is still in good shape - meaning that it is still flexible and after unbolting the face plate the liner stays in place verses shrinking out of alignment from the face plate holes. You would then bolt the repair plate to the pool wall making sure that the faceplate stays in the exact location as the original and the holes in the liner stay at the exact location. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Such a great idea! Thank you! I am going to order the parts you suggested. I have a question. I will have a second dispenser in my counter, and I would like to use lotion in it. Do you think the viscosity of lotion would work with the same set up?
Also, I’m not asking for any type of guarantee. 😁 I know one can never tell until you actually give it a try. You just seem to understand these things quite well, and I wondered your thoughts about using this same set up with lotion. Thank you!
Hey AnnMarie, yes, I do believe that this setup would also work using lotion. We also have two pumps in our sink, one for Dawn dish soap and the other for Zep hand cleaner. I imagine that the lotion viscosity would be about the same as liquid soap and the one-way check valve should handle that as well. Please let me know if you are successful? Thank you.
Why in the world would you go through all that b******* when all you have to do is lift off the top from above the sink fill the dispenser and put the top back on. Obviously you would never make it as a soap dispenser engineer
What a great question... Let's dive in shall we. We could do a simple modification to the soap dispenser feed system, in which a family member could easily swap out an empty gallon soap container once a year OR every few months we could pull the pump assembly out to refill the small reservoir, hoping that we don't overfill it and make a huge mess... or maybe the small container under the sink cracks and the soap leaks out all over everything, then we have to spend the next hour cleaning soap off of everything. (Our story) So we chose to do a simple modification and share it here in case anyone else never wants to clean soap up again after trying to fill their dispenser.
Where can I find this check valve?
I left a link in the description but I know that sellerocity is waiting for more of the valves to come in. Let me know if you want me to find another supplier for these one-way screen-protected check valves?
Now that's better
;-)

Thank you so much for your kind words!
Will this work for a qmark muh072?
Do you have the wiring diagram? (I found mine inside the heater itself)
Thank you time and effort fixing the problem
You are welcome. Thank you for your kind words.
The supply soap bottle should be vented to allow atmospheric pressure in to avoid a vacuum situation that would work against soap coming out of the pump.
Yes, which is why the hole I drilled for the top of the soap bottle for the hose to go through is just a bit bigger than the outside diameter of the hose so air could get in as the soap gets drawn out. Thank you for your comment 🙏
But why drill the hole through the cap? Why not just leave the cap off entirely?
Thank you so much for this creative idea! I love that I don't have to refill the soap dispenser so frequently!
You are welcome. Thank you for your kind comment.

Hi, I recently changed my sink soap dispenser and even with the check valve in this video, the dispenser still cannot draw the soap all the way. There is always an air pocket at the very top of the tube. Previously I had another soap dispenser and it worked fine even without a check valve. This thing is driving me nuts. I thought the check valve would solve the problem but it seems the dispenser is just not strong enough to draw soap all the way to the top. Any ideas? Thanks!
Two possibilities that I can think of right off; 1) air is getting into (leaking into) the tube at the top by the pump assembly (hence the air pocket at the very top of the tube before the pump assembly) 2) the pump assembly is defective.
I would check three things: First, make sure the hose/stem is cut off SQUARE and inserted COMPLETELY into the bottom dispenser. Any air leak in the hose will keep it from functioning correctly. Second, your soap might be too heavy, especially if your using a 1/4 inch line. Try thinning out the soap by adding some water to it. One dispenser I had would only work when I mixed half water and half soap. After I figured that out, it worked great. Third, make sure there is some type of hole in your soap container to allow air back in to the container. If your hose has an air tight fitting into your container, the suction may not be allowing the soap to move up the line.
