The Joey Version of Shock Tu was visually, melodically, and sonically something to behold. Joey was a special dude. Maybe he wasn't the singer like, say, a Sebastian Bach, but he was a a really good singer. I feel his strength was his melodies. He was as good, or better, than anyone else during that period of time in constructing the melodies that would stay with you as a listener ... a fan. I spoke with him a handful of times during the 3 year period when that version of the band was performing. I perceived him as a very sweet guy and he actually gave me his phone number to call him with anytime I had questions about the biz or even if I wanted to come stay with him at his place in Lake Dallas (?). Chatted Rick up a couple times. He was keen on updates as to what was going on with the band behind the scenes. Did not have the opportunity to speak with Jim or Ken. I couldn't figure out how this band didn't become larger than it was. At their peak, I believe that grunge was just around the corner a year of two later? Who knows? When we saw the version of the band with Tim, and I thought them to be pretty underwhelming. As players, they were still great as a unit. But the "star quality" that they once had was gone. That's not be disparaging towards Tim, but it was what it was at the time: He just wasn't Joey. No one was. I would occasionally ask about these guys afterwards, in the mid - late 90s and someone mentioned Jim was a commercial pilot flying for an airline full-time. Interesting to hear that wasn't necessarily the case? I'd would have liked to hear more about his flying career. As for "Kings of High Iron", I've done a YT search and have not been able to find any music? Cool interview! Thanks for posting!

There's a jump from 2:02 to 2:03. Before 2:02, the basic tunes' starting to form, but the chorus isn't there, at all. Then from 2:03 forward the chorus has been formed, almost completely, but the lyrics for the body are still on the way. Coming, but not all there yet. I wonder what we missed, and WOW, the part we can see.

I have no problem with you labeling it “Vamp Blues” I know what a “vamp” is.. adding “Blues” to it doesn’t scare, or harm, me.. nor, is it “wrong”.. Keep Doing what You’re Doing!!!

A vamp blues? Dum term. No information, "overly unique"... that's because you just made it up out of thin air. No one uses that term. Vamping is vamping, vamping ON a blues is the way we all say it. You are just as confused as anyone who doesn't already know will be after watching this video. Vamping is playing a part over and over until some signal is done to indicate to start the whole piece and not keep playing the same part, not waiting for the cue anymore. Blues is blues, there is no such "type" of blues as "vamping blues". It's a verb, not a noun..

I learned more about myself playing my bass than I did ever before and after reading Victor's books it really started to live for me, still use a good deal of my time to practice technique because I started out at an older age but these days I feel a freedom I never felt with anything before, love this man ❤❤❤

This poses me a problem because it is well known that Get Back emerged from a spoof song about Enoch Powell and his racist politics. So I think what we see is a sort of finished product after the spoof.
