If your Kenmore or Whirlpool Top Loader Washing Machine fills with water and then stops but it isn't the lid switch it might be the same problem I had. I demonstrate the problem with the washer plugged in but once you identify your problem you should unplug the unit so you can finish the job without risk of shock.

I don’t remember but does it have a key on the hatch door? If not you could try using a slim jim and as a last resort get a lock smith.
How’d you get it open with the lock pushed in my sister tried to unlock her Tahoe and the lock was loose I guess and she pushed it in
We got in from the passengers side and crawled over to the drivers side. With my car I was able to unlock the drivers door and open it. The clicker might work to unlock it too. Once unlocked the door should open with the outside handle.
@@FlyingMonkeyMedia she has a weird model where she has no other key hole to open anything and for some reason her battery decides to die randomly so do you think there’s a way to open it from the outside

I guess I’m gonna have to call a repairman. I check both connections and no discoloration. I unplugged both and replugged them and still nothing 😢

My Kenmore elite top load keeps turning off. How would I figure out what’s wrong
They got into my Tahoe broke the ignition cylinder, I replaced that already just need to do the driver side door and she’s good to go when I get a chance to do that.
Yes my cylinder lock broke, someone also broke into my Tahoe, I had to buy the door plate and the cylinder lock, I just need to take it to a locksmith and get it coded, on my Tahoe the door plate where to cylinder was at was cracked and the cylinder was done… the key won’t even go inside…
The repair guy said the service call would be $40, I couldn't afford that. Watched this video and bam just like that I finished 2 loads, Thank you so much for sharing Jeff, I appreciate you🙂

Like I said, I couldn't find anything online to tell me how to do it so I had to do some destructive disassembly to figure it out. In retrospect I know how to do it know. Hopefully you can see past my mistakes and do it correctly.
Thank you!! Washing machine is working again!! My mom's washing machine would do nothing after filling with water -- no agitation, no spin. I followed your video. I checked both connectors (lid switch & bottom main) & they looked good. Nothing appeared rusted or discolored. So I just disconnected and reconnected them to make sure nothing was loose. I followed the wires and tried to tighten all connection points just in case it was just that something was loose. I also wrapped a zip tie around the bottom connector to secure the connection. Put it all back together, plugged it in, crossed my fingers, and it is working! Also, the machine was full of water and clothes. I was so relieved to be able to troubleshoot the machine by taking off the front cabinet. I had no idea how to drain it otherwise. And there was no way I could have moved it myself. Thank you again for this video!
Having that same problem except the red wire is out of the connector.
I have same issue - Washer stops after waterfilling but this wire is ok and it did not fix my problem - I changed the timer unit too - anyother clue/suggestions ?
I really want to love these old machines but right now I am seething with rage and hate...Particularly the cover ow the back of it on the bottom has to line up with two tiny tabs to keep it all in place.
Great helper video, maybe a little on the risky side. Never leave a bare clip as a temporary fix. They do make liquid tape to paint over bare wires and connections. If you’re going to Mickey Mouse ( which is required at times), do it safely.

Or you can just lean the machine back against the wall and then you don't have to take the cabinet off unnecessarily. Been doing this 16 years. I have no idea why people take the cabinet off when all you have to do is lean the machine back for 90% of repairs

On my washer the white and gray wire is disconnected I’m not sure if they are connected together because there is a electrical connector cap over both of them I can’t see if they are twisted together, the only wire that’s connected to the lid switch is the green wire i wonder if this is the reason my washers transmission is won’t spin
Most likely the white and gray wire are connected which would bypass the lid switch making the washer think the lid is always closed so I doubt that is the reason your washer won't spin. My washer eventually stopped working and I found another bad connector on it that I had to do a similar fix like this to get it working again. I have tried everything. I had mentioned this theory to over 20 people at different hardware stores and they all looked at me like I was crazy. I will be trying this soon. Wish me luck and thank you.

I recommend taking off rail connected to key cylinder. Only way to unlock is with key fob

Ideally yes but at the time I made this I couldn't find any video or instructions on how to do it. So I had to tear the door apart before I figured out how to do it. I didn't want to film all of the trial and error but once I figured it out then I filmed info to help anyone attempting it from scratch. I could have put it all back together and shown the tear down in the correct sequence but that felt like too much work at the time, sorry.

I don't know the exact condition of your door handle. I couldn't get into my Tahoe with the broken handle from the drivers side so I got into it from the passengers side. I could exit the vehicle using the inside drivers side door handle but I couldn't get back in until I fixed it like in the video. It was a huge inconvenience for about 10 days until I figured out what part to order and how to do the repair. When I fixed mine there was no video on CZcams that I could find to do it so that's why I made and posted the video so others wouldn't have to figure it out from scratch.
Ohhh thank you I appreciate that alot. I only have one keyhole and they did the exact same thing to my door. I've watched a few videos and ima try to wedge it open from the top.
@@jarrodloran1 I guess we have different model. Mine had the clicker to unlock all the doors so I could get in from anywhere. What about the hatch? Mine has a key unlock on the hatch. If yours has the same you could get into the car that way.
If I recall there is no key hoke back there but that is a phenomenal idea!!! I can't believe I didn't think of that I'm try it now.
