You're joking me. They're ACTUALLY scrapping them?! Absolute JOKE! Just give them to EMR or another operator, for God's sake!
Do you know what route this took from wherever it came from or if possible send me the RTT link of this service please?
Exellent😊
I Miss The Class 360s Alot They Should Have Gone To Northern
It would have cost more then they are worth tbh, thats what happens these days tbh, non standard units cost too much to adapt so they get sent to scrap. It’s unfortunate but the way it works these days
how are you actually tracking these?
There are quite a few apps you can use, rail record is my personal favourite but if you want to see what is allocated to certain services then real-time trains is your best bet. I will add the links. Rail record- live.rail-record.co.uk/live/ Real-time trains-www.realtimetrains.co.uk/
Very nice😊
I thought this unit wouldn't get scrapped and be converted into freight units as planned? This was my favorite livery on the 360, and upon further inspection of wikipedia it said that units 204 & 205 were scrapped, really, really disapointed.
That was the plan but it was cancelled for a reason that I’m not sure on, but there is still another 3 that live on and may or may not find a use as parcel units but who knows.
mersey rail finally found the welsh lines lmao

Wow why would they scrap good trains that have plenty of life in them 🤦🏾♂️
Non standard units with a lot of decay due to 2 or so years sat in storage, it would cost too much to bring up to standards.

Not long saw a video of one of our Merseyrail class 508’s being dragged off to Newport to be scrapped by a class 37… She’s presumably going to Sims
That’s correct as per the description
What are the mk1s for
They are for braking force and because the couplers on the 37 and the mk3s are not the same I believe
The scrapyard for the trains is at Newport so they come here a lot those 37s the brought SWR 455s Southern 455s SWR 456s TFL Class 360s and other trains
The 37s never brought the southern 455s down for scrap as it was a GBRF contract. And i know where the scrapyard is and it is quite busy, they are quick at scrapping stuff so they are pretty popular
Also the SWR class 456s came down by road they were taken by rail from Wimbledon to long marston and they went by road to Newport docks.

Shame to see these go, apparently the 360/2's used in Thailand are also due to be replaced soon, I really hope someone preserves at least a single coach of this, its a shame to see the Desiro UK family trains now heading for scrap.

Love the Class 37 thought 😍.
There's certainly a lot of waste going on the railways recently, they will probably put the ticket prices up to make up for it.
Well that’s a waste
This is what happens when we have private companies running our railways
A waste of non standard units that no one wants?
Scrap! This isn’t fair for 360204, the East Midlands Railway Connect needs to repainted the EMR Connect livery.
They don’t need them it’s simple as that they don’t want them
What a waste of good metal. The first proper modern units heading for scrap that was likely under 20yrs old. Or just over. Either way had at oeast 20 more given how hefty and sturdy they were built.
They are about 16 years old it’s a shame but non standard units seem to be the ones that nobody wants
Your lying?? Scrap!? Their not even old..nor worn out..damn man, the only 5 car uk desiros. I wonder if the class 379s will get the same treatment
It’s a shame but as a small group of non standard units they were never likely to be picked up by any TOCs due to the expensive modifications required to make them suitable for any routes, the 379d might head the same way as they have been displaced by the GA 720s and the FLIRTS but who knows at this point they are being moved regularly most likely to keep them ready to run if needed so I can’t imagine them being scrapped yet, GWR might pick them up if they can but who knows
@@ntgtrains6455 if the 379s go that would be a major major disappointment. But I get what you mean.
@@ntgtrains6455 also I guess it depends how much the units are needed, 321s had the most extensive refurbishment I've seen. Ckass 458s have had some major works done to them also ,SWR have devoted so much to their units its astonishing. So I guess it just depends if the TOCs are willing to pay for them or not. I assume given the 360s were extras they weren't really worth the expenses for the TOCs at the time. Which is still sad.

@@ivanyap2002 I agree with you Ivan and yes they should
No one wants them as they are non standard units, I’m not sure you both are aware of the cost to fit the modifications then the cost of crew training and getting gauge clearance, it’s sums up to a hell of a lot
