Poor train :(
Just like what happened to the London Underground C Stock. It was taken to Northwood sidings to be taking onto a truck to be scrapped. I miss the C Stock, and Im gonna miss these trains too :(
I Miss The Class 360s Alot They Should Have Gone To Northern
It would have cost more then they are worth tbh, thats what happens these days tbh, non standard units cost too much to adapt so they get sent to scrap. It’s unfortunate but the way it works these days
Round and round and round it goes
where does the Class 360 stop, at the scrap yard.
rip class 360 my fav train
3 or 4 are left and will not be scrapped in the near future as they have been given rolls as test units at the new rail excellence centre in South Wales
Shame to see these go, apparently the 360/2's used in Thailand are also due to be replaced soon, I really hope someone preserves at least a single coach of this, its a shame to see the Desiro UK family trains now heading for scrap.
There are plenty more desiro units left even if they don’t preserve them which I can’t see them doing
Where did you get that? No, they aren’t due to be replaced anytime soon
@@TanVasinTrains The wiki page. They are supposed to be replaced when the line gets extended. But there seems to be no progress.
@@AliGroves450 its not getting replaced, theres just new rolling stock orders for the extension
I thought this unit wouldn't get scrapped and be converted into freight units as planned? This was my favorite livery on the 360, and upon further inspection of wikipedia it said that units 204 & 205 were scrapped, really, really disapointed.
That was the plan but it was cancelled for a reason that I’m not sure on, but there is still another 3 that live on and may or may not find a use as parcel units but who knows.
Not long saw a video of one of our Merseyrail class 508’s being dragged off to Newport to be scrapped by a class 37… She’s presumably going to Sims
I know what happen 360/2 doing the freight operations but due to the equipment and other components
Yeah they are non standard units so they would need expensive modifications
What a waste of good metal. The first proper modern units heading for scrap that was likely under 20yrs old. Or just over. Either way had at oeast 20 more given how hefty and sturdy they were built.
They are about 16 years old it’s a shame but non standard units seem to be the ones that nobody wants
Well that’s a waste
This is what happens when we have private companies running our railways
Why 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭
@@mrorangeaventra4683 probably won’t be compatible, if they needed or wanted them they wouldn’t be going for scrap
@@mrorangeaventra4683 They don’t have TPWS which would require expensive mods. A small fleet of 5 is not wanted anywhere.
Wow why would they scrap good trains that have plenty of life in them 🤦🏾♂️
Non standard units with a lot of decay due to 2 or so years sat in storage, it would cost too much to bring up to standards.
@@ntgtrains6455 least there's a proper reason then just scrapping it because nobody wants them
You're joking me. They're ACTUALLY scrapping them?! Absolute JOKE! Just give them to EMR or another operator, for God's sake!
Go to emr not scrap 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yeah, the class 360/1 trains needs their class 360/2 trains to get it self repainted in EMR Connect livery.
No one wants them as they are non standard units, I’m not sure you both are aware of the cost to fit the modifications then the cost of crew training and getting gauge clearance, it’s sums up to a hell of a lot
🌹 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐦
Not even that old
Yeah not even 18 years old it’s a shame but there is no other use for them
Well Rail Operations Group wasted there money on this
@@ntgtrains6455 exactly they brought them now scrapping them they are too young to be scrapped
@@thetrainhornmaster9439 yeah well no one wants them and there is no point paying for them to be stored for no reason
@@ntgtrains6455 I would use it on SWR but they don’t use 3rd rail so another fail
@@thetrainhornmaster9439 they are non standard units so they would have to pay a lot to even put them on normal routes
1960's loco dragging 2000's unit for scrap. Crazy railway system we have.
It’s not right at all, it’s even as far as scandalous but it’s the modern day British railways for you when they have no immediate use they are disposed, such a shame considering these units are 2 years younger then me
Gose to show how good and well built the Class 37s are.
