Onewheel GT Trail Ride Filmed by Skydio 2+ and Insta360 One X2 Simultaneously!

Riding my Onewheel GT while filming with an Insta360 One X2 and flying a Skydio 2 . Videos from both the Insta360 and Skydio cameras are sync'd and shown side by side so both perspectives can be seen at the same time. I know this is an easy trail, but the GT is my first and only Onewheel I have ever ridden (and I have no skateboarding or snowboarding experience either) so I am still learning. T...
Hey man. Cool video. I live in Thousand Oaks and ride those same trails. I just got a pint and am considering a GT. I'm 51.
Verdict? Floatwheel ADV and VESC in general is better than anything Future Motion puts out.
Any updates?
Hey, I know that trail! Did you make it going back up the steep inclines on the gt?
Great comparison on those 2 boards. Thanks for sharing your results. Do you like the Performance tire on the GT better?
What was the outcome of the RMA?
How did you like the performance tire? I'm trying to decide wether to keep it or get an enduro. My GTS should be here tomorrow
Thx having coffee & watching From downunder
Thx having coffee & watching from downunder
TRY this on the GTS for shits an giggles to see how far you actually get??
GREAT VIDEO YOU ROCK!
Did FM replace the GTS?
Are these allowed in china?
What kind of kneepads are those and are they comfortable?
Aw hell yeah float on brother I'm 45 rider out if Dallas Vrap on we're never to old if I can get out of bed I can onewheel lol
Battery came undone or main power cord
Always good to see you making new content. I need to get out and ride more!
those are great trails to ride! Cheers from Palm springs!
need a FLOATWHEEL instead.. way better.. cleaner wiring, a fraction of onewheels price, and full on supportive of RIGHT TO REPAIR!
I want a float wheel but I'm old and don't "get" crypto. Why won't they take my old fashioned credit card 😢
I feel like we're seeing a ton of GT controllers die for no justifiable reason. Sad to see this trend extending into the GT-S line as well but frankly not surprising. On a positive note, my gt vesc is almost ready to go :)
Good video. Glad you were able to get it all documented on film. My guess is an internal plug coming loose. Hopefully they send you a new board or a detailed explanation and solution so that you are not hesitant on it for future use. You are very lucky it was at slow speed. An update with their response for the community to see would be appreciated 👍
This is why I refuse to buy another onewheel until they extend the onewheel to a longer warranty. 1 year or 1000 miles is not enough for some thing with a large battery pack
Oh man! After 100 miles and THATS when you felt it was worth it? It is a personal thing like you said but I feel like you had to convince yourself in this video. I’m stoked you’re stoked though🤙🏽
This entire video sounds like a Floatwheel commercial because the case for the GTS is so marginal outside of racing. I thought he would come back with something compelling.
And if you take a look at the average speed you can realized that only 0,2 MPH is the difference between the gt-s, and gt. Okay I agree if you want to get more torque it is worth buying gt-s, but for example me who are more into distances gt is still the preferred one.
👍👍Good informative video, does need background music reduced
Yess 🙌😎sir
I want this board badly. It's awesome but it's just too early. I thought it was interesting. You said you would contact future motion. Expect to hear back from them in about 3 or 4 months.
Wrong. He heard back the following day. I sent my board back for repairs and it was a smooth process. It was under warranty and I had it back in a little over a week.
Great video and comparison! For next one, could you please increase your voice volume and decrease a bit the music or sound of the video running in background as it gets pretty noisy and hard to hear. Thank you 🙏
Thanks, will do!
A ducker can help push your voice over music when talking. @@never2old780
I got a GT for my 70th Birthday last year. I was loving the ride when one day my battery suddenly cut out on me and nosedived! I was slammed to the pavement at 21.6 mph. Shattered my left femur and bashed my head pretty good too. I was life flighted to the Trauma Center in Roseville CA. I wasn't wearing any body armor... big mistake. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
As a paramedic and a avid rider, this is terrifying. 70 years old and still dragging around those giant balls. LOL God bless you, man. I'm turning 49 in April and my wife shakes her head every time I ride my board. I would imagine that you either wear lots of gear or do not ride anymore. I hope it is the former. Don't you have a wife to tell you to not do this crazy shit?
Are you still riding? I have a few more years to go before I hit that number, but my hardhead tells me I’d be back on it again.🙈😂
Always dress for the SLIDE not the ride
@@milesonewheelwinter ...lots of gear now, for sure!
@@milesonewheelwinter It was my wife that surprised me with the OW GT for my Birthday. I'm 71 now and I still love my Onewheel!!
Very nicely compared. I never like how FM answers questions like " what was wrong with it". Always leaves me wanting more
Happy to hear about your quick return of the new board! Thanks for your review!
🌸 Promo sm
im so happy for you! cheers from palm springs!
Disappointing video. I want to see the GTS crushing the GT but instead it just live in the same trail space as the GT but climbs 3-5 mph faster.
I got to ride the GTS last weekend for a few hours and I agree 100% with you. I was really excited to feel a big difference, the reality was a little different. It’s a great board, it did climb an area we usually use to drop in, very steep, but the GT did it too… It’s more powerful and it’s fun, but in no way does the difference between the two boards validate the price in my opinion. I will buy a good used one when people are selling them but I will not pay that much for the difference, it’s just not worth it to me. (I will say that it’s more noticeable on trails, which is cool).
5 miles per hour is a astounding difference going up Hill, especially if you're into racing.
Way to go!
I subscribe to you maybe you treat me? I'll be filming some with my GTS here shortly I'll probably upload a video tomorrow I'm going to be in Humboldt county pushing it to the limit 🤘🏼 My top speed so far 27.2 Over 11,000 mi on GT Number nine leaderboard 🎉
Imagine going 25mph and Brick dead like That..... ($shhheeeee Ouuuchhh)
Gt-s series is what the gt should have been when released but it should have gt range a standard 6” rim user replaceable battery & components for around $2000 price, $3200 is just ridiculous 🤦♂️ U can buy a full dirt-bike or decent running used car for that price
Agreed, but we all know neither a dirt bike Nora. Used car will provide the feelings that these boards provide. They're not about being economical. They're about living the life that you want to live. Because it's short savor it!
@@milesonewheelwinter understand emotional feeling of enjoyment for fun-wheeling but it does not excuse FM Onewheel business shortcomings, like their anti competitive practices to 3rd party dealers thats boosted their sales, anti-consumer unable to user replace battery & electronic components, going to proprietary larger unnecessary 6.5” rim instead of using standard 6”, how they have disregarded many customer issues even though fully valid, creating a board that dangerously shuts off no real warning many times then being forced to do soft recall, then realease gt-s right after fixing most what was wrong with gt and adds $1000 to price🤦♂️
just happened to my GT, bricked for no reason at 60% battery after about a 1.5mile ride. They told me the controller was defective. Cost me almost $330, it was soon after I updated the firmware also....just saying idk if thats suspicious or not. Board was working fine before the update
At that point I’d just vesc it. It’d be cheaper, more customizable, have more power, and not be under FMs control anymore.
@@Electronic4081what is a good vesc?
@@Felisargyle from what I’ve heard the Little FOCer is one of the best you can buy right now, but it does run a little more expensive (~$300). Surfdado has some videos on the Little FOCer and a more budget option, the UBOX 100 (~$130). Also floatwheel sells a vesc that may be good and I think they are upgrading it soon, I haven’t heard too much about that one yet though. Fungineers also said they’d make a round of vescs sometime soon. Overall, I’d definitely watch some of surfdados videos on the vescs he’s used and recommends before doing a conversion.
@@Electronic4081 I was looking into vesc but I had alot of trouble finding any credible sources on how to actually do it. Do you have any recommendations?
@@user-dm4eg5od9b surfdado has a whole series walking through the build and firmware setup on a couple of his conversions. Also the board garage has a similar build series, and floatwheel has some old videos building their old board that could be useful. I’d say the #1 source of information is surfdado, he should have videos on nearly everything you’d need.
Why on earth would you buy this shit now VESC is operational, 1/3 price, all this extra power limited by haptic buzz, then let's face it a onewheel is not really designed to go up hill in any case since it self balanced and a steep hill is 25% inclination. People are just destroying planet to buy fluff.
Man! I hope they get it back to you quick, and let you know what caused it, at least.
Future Motion will not go in to any depth. They will say something vague about some part "not performing up to expectations".
Your headlight led are flashing error codes throughout the video 7:03 for example going into the turn. im gonna wager you over volted a capacitor. If they didnt change the program in the microcontroller then it will have no perameters for 113v. At that greater pressure overcharge cap would pop through its fracture mark bricking the board. To anybody reading this understand voltage IS pressure ( amps are 3lectron flow ) so volts does not = speed . Its the mechanical equivalent of putting way too many psi in a vessel that cannot hold the pressure . Bottom line, get a vesc. Ffm ... glad youre okay
Nothing fails in Vesc boards, ever. 😅
Uh, NO. Look again Sherlock. It's simply the footpad blocking the view of the headlight every time the nose comes down a little. And regarding the caps, if they are rated for higher voltage (which I suspect they are rated for at least 125V, have you seen how HUGE they are in the GT-S??) then they don't care. The controller doesn't control voltage, it controls PWM. Voltage is whatever the battery (or motor) is putting out.
Am I behind or are we actually able to vesc the gt? Because that would be problem solved. the XR star had a certain amount of volts the GT went up to 75 or 76 and the new one is a 113. 84 V from my XR converted with a vesc. Can anybody please tell me the voltage or power available on Ag t if it followed the same formula? I would even be happy with 84 V. I just didn't think we could do that.
What's an RMA? Thank you.

Had the same issue with my GT a couple of months ago, just died from nothing, wouldn’t charge, just about it. Great service from FM though, as I live in Brazil they just sent me a new one in a short time. Hope you get it done to enjoy your GTS!
Based on how you'ret riding I would have to say it died out of boredom😂
Very informative and great video
Onewheels are garbage safety hazards. Its not a matter of if, but when they will dump your ass and break bones or very least cause severe roadrash. DO NOT BUY.
At times you looked more comfortable on the GT-S. Was there a difference in how the tires felt? Are the both stock? Thank you.
I was more comfortable on the GT-S but that is just because of the extra power. It seems more stable, I think because I was not pushing it close to its limits. Both my GT and GT-S are stock, except that my GT has the same FM Performance Treaded tire that is stock on the GT-S. I also have the Floatlife Kush rear footpad and Lifesavers on the GT. Interestingly, when I weighed them, the GT-S was about 3lbs less than my GT. That could also make it more comfortable.
Their might be a popped fuse.
Onewheels dont have fuses.
@@RIDE-o-REBELLION-o-FLOATCAST I highly doubt they don't have any surface mount fuses on the board.
Skydio for the epic drone footy
Agreed. The Skydio 2+ is the best for this type of footage! Too bad Skydio is not selling to consumers anymore! Oddly, my Skydio 2+ crashed into a chain-link fence while filming this video. First time it has crashed into anything. Changed a couple props and it was fine again, not sure why though.
What? They don’t do consumer drones anymore??? Shoot I was thinking of getting one when I get the money! Do they still sell the sky dip 2+?
Skydio 2+ (damn corrector)
Sorry, Skydio withdrew from the consumer market a few months ago. Now, they only sell to the enterprise market. They still sell parts and accessories for the Skydio 2+ to consumers just not the drone itself. Skydio still makes the 2+ as an enterprise drone, just not for consumers. You might be able to find one on eBay.
Did you over regenerate it possibly?
No. I started with 90% and went up to the top, then came down, so it could not have regenerated above where it started. Also, the app said battery was at 79% when the GT-S quit.
