This would be ride 5 for Brownie. I could not find any reason not to go ahead and bit him up. He did great as usual...I just bitted him up for the first time ever and gave him 30 minutes to get used to it , then got on him and took off. Slowly of course.

How long would you say this repair took you to complete ? I have to do this to my 950 , I’m been stuck in low range for about a year now.
Just a few hours
The RD-406 was an option for the first year in 1956, so yours could possibly be one.
We have a Heeler dog with a flying disc. You have the best wife.
That dog Emma, she' been gone now for 2 years, god rest her soul, never a boring moment with her around. My wife brought home a new heeler pup 2 months ago. She's a cookie and cream style named Sissy...........Thanks!
@@soulgravygarage8409 I miss my Heeler Dog. His name was Felix. As you say, never a dull moment.
P.S. check out the macungie truck show macungie pennsylvania you will get a lot of attention old model international series have good one and god bless !
Good video, can you remember roughly how many hours to point of getting the shifter in place? Thanks
About 4 hours...
The engines last home looks like a cabover, judging by the remote shifter on the topcover of the transmission.
I believe you are correct...
How did you get the top shaft so loose. Did the bearing to the rear stay in the case. Mine is staying on the shaft. With ring and washer removed Did you pull the bottom shaft out any or just removed the bearing on the front? Thanks Jason
Sounds like the snap ring is still on the back of top shaft...look at 7:43. There are two snap rings on the gears that have to be removed. All I can say is that it's all in the video, I didn't hide anything. I can say this was a real PITA. Be careful and take your time. Hope that helps...
Started this today and they're a pain in the butt! Have to find something to hide the lines
grout
Do you need to use a sealant to protect from dirt and stains? Does it clean easily?
I sealed the bottom with silicon to keep liquids out...Other than that, no...
hello i have a question..could you saw us the foul video of where is exactly the problem and how to fix it.. we have 2 of 8000 with the same problem
The 8000 and 8600 look to be real close. The pump is on the right side...
@@soulgravygarage8409 hi a have one more question Do you use glue sticks or flange at the plate?
What tool did you use to cut the backsplash around the outlets
You can use a wet saw, radiac, or even a dremel with a good cutting wheel. The best ones would be diamond coated.
This thing is badass! I just picked up what I believe is a 1957 international 200 Gin pole truck. Cool to see some information on the internet about em!
GREAT SOLID RIG MATE
.Good looking old Binder!
🤩
Of course I would prefer he was wearing a HELMET! but great work of course ❤️💕
Thanks for the great video! Mine broke on my 950 today and it was just what I wanted to see .
Thanks for the video!! What caused that to break?
There was a hairline crack, prolly from welding....I welded it back...All it does is move a shift fork.
@@soulgravygarage8409 Welding from the factory?

Excellent video coverage of the legendary 1050 tractor. We need all the videos possible, especially like the one youve posted here Man as the models were/are so damn reliable it's rare for any "real" issues, although in my book you just fixed a "real" issue. So many wrong stats, wrong statement's and outright intentionally misleading talk by people
Thanks! That's the only thing that has broke on this jd1050. "knock on wood"
@@soulgravygarage8409 the 50 series is far from the most advanced tractor ever made, hell let's be honest far from the most comfortable easy going tractor. What the 50 series is-is an extremely reliable straight forward overbuilt workhorse. She's basically a very ugly ole girl with a perfect body that'll love you better than any dream haha You Really did do an excellent job Man 👍🇺🇸 our 1980's tractors are becoming more and more sought after as I'm sure youve seen the resales climbing in price it's all the guys like us who know what they are and do not want to get bored out when something happens on a brand new model and we realistically an legally can't touch it! These old girls were meant to be left out on the jobsite/field aswell as worked on (within reason obviously) right there too Outta curiosity have you found almost all listed capacities are far below the real ones? I came across an old timer a year or 2 ago who was a Deere mechanic when these were sold new, he said Deere didn't wanna recertify the 1050 from the 950 and simply listed all the same capacity for it. But the 1050 with the 75 loader is well known for 1500lbs most of the way up, the 75 loader has better geometry over the model 80 which is why she lifts more yet the 80 being newer Deere had to certify it so she was rated at a newer spec and higher than the 75! Even tho that 75 easily lifts more.....i cannot say if that's 100% accurate but from first hand experience I agree with it, gotta love the history of these tractors how/why and even who made em. We need someone to make a video of the tractors TRUELY being tested to see what they're real capacity is
@@johnserrano9689 Interesting. Never looked at the capacities, but not surprised. Still using this tractor...
Just bought these. How are yours holding up? Would you still recommend?
They are holding up just fine.
How did you cut the square out for the outlet?
I used a cheap tile saw from home depot...
I seriously hope that is not MDF you are cutting and routing without a respirator. If it is do you, and your viewers, a favor and use a mask. MDF is extremely toxic and I hope I am wrong...
Thanks Karen!
can you link the router bits u used?
www.whitesiderouterbits.com/products/3735?_pos=1&_sid=1fbe828d3&_ss=r 3725 is the 7/8" 1/2" shank for the doors. I used the matching 3720 5/8" 1/4" shank for the smaller drawers. They have a selection chart below the bits with 6 different matching sizes
replaced by a CNC machine that did 17 of them at once, better.
I like the way you arched your cabinet doors. Did you use particle board or plywood.
I used MDF....Engineered medium-density fiberboard
Nice ! Question : what about the rain or moisture on microswitches ? I know these guys are quite sensitive to moisture ..
No problems yet

Hello from creamia.wher is that storm?
Pflugerville, TX
Great work on the arches, I’ve noticed you’re one of the few people who made cabinet doors the way I am hoping to which is just one solid piece instead of the 5 piece rails and stiles way. Did you run into any problems with them/do you know why so many do what appears to be a lot of extra and unnecessary work?
No real problems. If these were to be stained, then rail and stiles is the way to go due to the size. Since these were to be painted, mdf was the way to go.
Sir what shap the rauthar bit
I used Whiteside router bits. I lost these particular bits unfortunately....

what bits are you using?

@@soulgravygarage8409 Thanks for the info. I'll try what's on the video tomorrow.
Slow cranking old Chevy six cylinder on six volts? Sounds familiar. Weak starter. We had to try several different starters and finally got one that would spin it over fast even when hot. Same on the six volt tractors. The starter was drawing way more amps than it should have.

Just about to do an inframe rebuild DT466C engine serial number 468TM2U565364 Apparently it is an 1988. Looks identical to yours except no hydraulic pump. Have also a slightly older spare engine same but 490107. It is out of frame like yours. It apparently has one intake valve that leaks when the turbo spools up fully. Intend to get them both running like new. Would really like to know your engine number, what that hydraulic pump used to run. Apparently the newer engine I have has a roller style cam
I can get that serial number.(out of town right now). Are you going to "youtube" your build? I hope so. As far as the hydraulic pump goes, it was in a bus..that got wrecked....so maybe it kneeled. Not sure.
@@soulgravygarage8409 I hope to make a video of my progress. Kinda crude. I'm no videographer and it is winter here and no shop. However I have lots of general mechanical experience. Upon reflection I think your hydraulic pump is possibly a power steering pump, you said it was a bus. The one I'm doing has a huge front end so massive power steering pump, belt-run

What is the power to weight ratio on this 2 stroke conversion, can it run ethanol tilted into multiple positions!
The 466 can run in multilple positions
I wanted to thumbs up your video. The backsplash came out gorgeous but it’s very frustrating that you didn’t show the most important and difficult part: cutting the d#mn tile. How did you do it? What tool did you use?
Tile can be cut with a tile wet saw. Which is what I used. I believe it was storming that day so filming outside was no good. Sorry. www.amazon.com/SKIL-3540-02-7-Inch-Wet-Tile/dp/B003HIWR08/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=tile+saw&qid=1608523693&sr=8-1 This particular tile is glued to a backing. If the tile piece has an edge where it needs to be cut. The backing can be sliced with a utility knife. At 6:06 this is shown.
You can cut with a Dremal tool with a tiny diamond blade . Very easy.
Hand heaters required for this video!

What shape of router bit?
I have misplaced these bits. All I know is They came from Whiteside routing bits. One was about 3/4" and the other 5/8" both with the same profile..
Found them...www.whitesiderouterbits.com/products/3735?_pos=1&_sid=1fbe828d3&_ss=r
How do you have your batteries wired up and are they 12v batteries or 24v ?
Two 12 volt batteries. They get wired in parallel. So it's basically one long 12 volt battery with twice the amps when the two are put together.
@@soulgravygarage8409 Okay thank you.
Not to sound like a know it all but you wired them in parallel which gives you 12 volts but 2x the amps, had you wired them in series you would have had at least 24volts and, if it was a twelve volt starter, a small fire and a destroyed starter. But it would spin really fast for a very short while.
Looks like everything is doing well.
