According to Elliotte Freidman, the Knights will be interested. If a deal happens, I do not expect the Knights to overpay especially due to the contract of Marner. He is an upcoming UFA aswell

@Xdot15 I agree with the assessment that trading for Tavares was a mistake. However, the team's woes started before Tavares came. I know Leafs fans don't want to admit this, but Auston Matthews might be the best 2C in the NHL. McDavid, Barkov, Crosby, Draisaitl, Jack Hughes, MacKinnon, and Bedard are all better or will be better than Auston Matthews within the next few years. Matthews is arguably the best pure scorer in the NHL, but lacks other important elements to his game. He isn't good defensively and his points production comes as close to exclusively as it comes for elite center men.

Vegas gonna be spending 150 million dollars Lmao. The salary cap upper limit for the 2024-25 season is 88 million and the lower limit is 65 million. The salary cap doesn’t apply when the playoffs start. Tampa Bay was 18 million over in 2021 because they had Nikita Kucherov on LTIR for the entire 56 game season and then he played every playoff game. He was clearly ready to return from his hip surgery BEFORE playoff time but they couldn’t take him off LTIR because they would be over the salary cap in the regular season. The salary cap should have to apply for the entire season in my opinion. It’s a major loophole that teams are exploiting.

Thought the panthers still brought more physicality than the Oilers. The hits were 63-35 for the Florida panthers which is almost double. However, the oilers had more of the high danger chances and shots on net
