Queen Annes Revenge 3D puzzle full build.
This is my quick build of the cubicfun 3D foam board puzzle of the queen anne's revenge (red edition) it is a very intricate and highly detailed kit that can be completed in a day or so and makes a wonderful and imposing display model,it even comes with its own moulded cannons!

This is a 3D wooden puzzle type model,even though its a simple construction kit it does contain a high level of detail which is what caught my attention when i first found this kit. Hi my friend, I’m on issue 45 atm, but I’m a bit confused when connecting the bridge light to the led module, the connection A and B is the one I’m not sure with, can you remember which SL cable i supposed to connect to socket A and B? Hope you can help. Thanks

I love models where you can see see the interiors of them, almost like you have x-ray vision. I love seeing all the details of different rooms on stuff like houses, ships and planes.

Did you use revell 05499 for the lantern and decoration?
I used the revel black swan kit no 05605 but I think the black pearl one you mention is the exact same model parts wise aswell.

Wow, that is looking amazing! The details look great and the lighting is almost perfect! But, the camera always over exposes light!
Thankyou! Yes it's so difficult to get a decent picture of low level lighting without it over saturating it.
Will you be lowering the brightness of the lights as all you need is a glow, not glare? I had that with the hachette bismarck. The light from the ship was so bright, it could light up a room, so, I just painted the LEDs with a yellow transparent paint and that reduced the glare. I must say, the black pearl is looking absolutely amazing. Looking forward to the next stage.

Is it waterproof without the led’s? Like can i use it in the water?
I wouldn't advise it as its made from foam board and paper and would likely fall apart if it gets wet.

Where did you run the fiber optics through to light the eyes? They're so small...
I drilled two tiny holes through the skull and ran the fibre optics down the back of the neck and down the back then down the legs,once painted they blended in and just looked like part of the endoskeleton. Very fiddly to do but came out ok.

This particular model was only available from hachette japan as a monthly collection which is no longer available however bandai do a range of space battleship yamato model kits in various scales which are available online.

This is the kind of mod I've been looking for. I'd also like to go in and see if dimming can be done to the back panel so it looks like individual panels. The light is there. I've been looking up micro LEDs and also plan to try to update the speaker so it doesn't sound so tinny. Maybe some dampening.

Longshot as this is an old vid, but how did you get the door to stay open mine springs back
Yes it was a while ago since I did this build but I don't recall having any issues with the door,I can't remember if there was a spring assembly on the door however if yours is springing back then if there is a spring remove it and you could also try adding a packer to the hinge pin to make it a little stiffer to open and close.👍

another way to get a better back lit effect is to draw up the art in a vector art program and have negative film output made. it has much darker density and will look far more realistic. Its the same film negative that is used for print production and platemaking. at that point you can hand color the areas as you like with transparent film, tape sharpie whatever. An 8x10 sheet would cost about 15-25 dollars USD. maybe scan the original parts and recreate them in a drawing program. I do this for watch dials and photo engraving.
